So interesting. I remember when the dress was all over the Internet. I saw blue and black very consistently, except for one time when I saw white and gold. Later, no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t see white and gold again.
In all videos I've watched about this, in all angles of this photo, even when the man was showing the image to passerbys through his phone, i STILL see it as White and Gold. I refuse to believe it's black and blue. I just don't see it. They are very contrasting colours. I feel gaslit.
This is so insane to me. Of all the pictures I’ve ever seen, I’ve always seen White and Gold. When they change the lighting, I see dim white and gold or bright white and gold like I do for the thumbnail of this very video. When they show VIDEO of the “actual” dress like on the mannequin in the store window in this video, I do see blue and black but how can I mistake Gold for black? That makes absolutely zero sense. I think this whole thing was a psyop.
Even after i acknowledges that the dress was originally black and blue, i still seeing it as white and gold. Anyways, i showed up this picture to my daughter and her play dates... and all of them seeing black and blue I need full scientific video about this
I asked my family members about the dress and 3 of them said gold and white while 3 saw blue and black 💀💀 i was completely convinced that they are colourblind 💀💀💀 I thought old people saw gold and white but my aunty saw purple idk how 💀💀
How do people see anything other than the colours in the photo? Why are people who see the true colours in the photo of brown and light blue simply dismissed?
I've always seen white and gold. Until today! I looked at the thumbnail of this video, through my fingers (covering the background light), and one eye closed, and the other squinted. As soon as i moved my hand (bringing back the background light), it went back to white and gold.
That is a good example of how scientific analysis teaches about negating one's bias enabling objective assessment unable to be understood by most people. I automatically tried to put them together b4 deciding.
So now that you have seen the dress in the store, do you still believe it's white and gold? Even in the picture at 1:57 I don't see white and gold, I see lilac and yellow brown. I think you are all just color blind.
Even when I think of it as being in the shadows it’s still 100% white and gold to my eyes. It’s not like obviously white and gold but that’s what my brain is telling me those colors are and even when I look at it under sunlight or super dark it doesn’t make a difference
Until today, I have always seen it as white and gold. After seeing the obviously black and blue dress in the store window, and then looking at the phone, for a few seconds, it was plainly black and blue. I was in utter shock! Then, it suddenly clipped back to white and gold, and no matter how many times I look at the dress in the store window and then at the phone, it still looks white and gold! Am I going crazy?! Someone tell me what's going on!
I took a screenshot and zoomed into the squares of the checker board and they are literally different colors when you put them side by side. The difference is almost noticeable because obviously the lighter one has a shadow on top and it dakened but it is still lighter than the darker square.
Never understood how people saw White and Gold. It's so obviously black and blue especially because of the background showing how well lit the area is around it. I thought people were joking when they said they saw white and gold, like the whole lions vs pokemon thing. I'm still not convinced people aren't joking about it to this day its so obvious.
What was the actual color of the dress by the way? I have no idea what the dress is supposed to be. My eyes have different colors cones appear more like highlighter bright. I think part of it comes down to how your brain perceives color. But some people don't see the same shade of color when looking at it. What is red for one person, is a darker shade of red or it's more pink.
This is really jusgy but i think it *could* be that people that see white and gold struggle more with emotions/lower self esteem/care for/understand others emotions alot more and/or are very creative/“different” and the opposite for the other one (high self confidence), especially because of the comments saying they saw black n blue are so freaking rude for no reason, if you get mad at me saying that it just proves it further. i see now, 1:05 was really good lightning, but for me it *LOOKS* like it’s white and goldmjust that the shadow makes the white blue-ish and the gold.. idk. 1:00 in the glass i do see it as black and blue tho.
The dress in the video is clearly not the same dress, might be the same model, bua bit different on the top, and black and blue colours are too saturated to be misconceived. Also telephone screen and camera back then could be worse in colour perception and hence the arguments. This video is not informative at all.
It's the same dress, that's how i see it in the original picture. That doesn't mean that it's how the original picture is like, maybe it's in between, but our brains go one way or the other in trying to adjust.
The "shadows vs direct sunlight" explanation does not make much sense. You would see it as black and blue if you saw it under a "normal" sunlight (which is yellow). People who see it as white and gold are seeing it under a very blue light, which is unnatural and does not make sense. There is no blue light commonly used in shops and certainly natural light is NOT blue. The only way that dress could be white is if it had a very strong blue light on it, thus making it appear as light blue in the picture. But that's not the case, conversely the black color is appearing (very) slightly gold because there is a very strong yellow light on the black part. Hence our brain should be pretty obviously compensating for the yellow light and realize that of course it's blue and black. There is no other possible answer.
I saw two different dresses…I always saw black and blue and today first time I see it gold an white I go read the comments I go back and it’s blue and black… no lighting nothing.. there is more to it 😅
If some one was to offer me either 1 million dollars or to get a chance to see this dress in white and gold, i would regret the decision for the rest of my life for taking the 1 million dollars
Immediately this video has no merit. The grey squares are different. Checkerboard with alternating colors. Dark light dark light. Before the cylinder is introduced. After it is introduced it is still the same dark light dark light checkerboard. Grr
Idk if its just cus i have a extra color receptor but even in he different lightings ive NEVER seen it as white and gold yes in the original picture the black part has a yellow tint but its clearly black still
who else thinks this is a hoax? the chessboard is obviously 2 shades of grey. and the dress is 100% white & gold. why play with us? its like the girl who tried telling us 2 + 2 = 5. 😂
I got chills. I opened the snipping tool in windows 11, took a screenshot of A square, than B square, than A and B together. B screenshot looks darker than in original picture, but it changes depending on what screenshot i see before it. Try switching between 3 screenshots(A, B, A and B)

Back when this was our biggest disagreement 😭I love it

I still see it as blue and black 8 years later. With the fully lit dress I see blue and gold.
My mind just cant comprehend how it is possible to see it absolutely differently
I asked my family members about the dress and 3 of them said gold and white while 3 saw blue and black 💀💀 i was completely convinced that they are colourblind 💀💀💀 I thought old people saw gold and white but my aunty saw purple idk how 💀💀
I perceived it in a shadow and it still looked white and gold.
What does perceiving in shadow mean?
@@Jisoos.turtle.rabbit like it was under shade, basically like it was covered from the sun, mostly except for like a little bit of it so
Me too
How do people see anything other than the colours in the photo? Why are people who see the true colours in the photo of brown and light blue simply dismissed?
Interestingly I remember when this was a big deal and seeing it as black and blue, now 6-7 years later I see it as white and gold
Sorry but I just feel like I'm being gas lit over the colours of a checker board. They look the same because the video changed the colours.
It stops just when it was getting really interesting.
Is the thumbnail of the video not just a Black and Blue dress on the left and a Black and Blue dress in sunlight on the right? 😂😂
I've always seen white and gold. Until today! I looked at the thumbnail of this video, through my fingers (covering the background light), and one eye closed, and the other squinted. As soon as i moved my hand (bringing back the background light), it went back to white and gold.
I only see Black and Blue no matter the lighting or angle. I don't see how people see a different colour
I used to see it as black and blue but like 10 minutes after I started to see it as gold and white and I've seen it as that ever since
Oh my gosh it’s the opposite for me! I always see white and gold, I can’t see black and blue. I think color perception is different between people
And I see white and gold not matter the angle 😂 this shits insane
I've never been able to see white and gold
I've never been able to see blue and black
@@fawazzshanu3230same
I can see both there is something wrong in my brain
Open the dress image in photoshop. Sample the two colours. Khaki and mauve.
i’ve always seen it as white and gold

I agree. The only time I didn't see it as gold and white was when the black and blue dress was beside it. The dress is white and gold!
I'm thinking people are looking at on different screens in different glares. If you zoom in completely on the "black" part it's nowhere near black.
Will never understand how anyone sees anything but white and gold
Try different ankles. Use your peripheral vision it's clearly black and blue
They're all liars man

Brown and blue
I still cannot physically perceive the white and gold

The real colors are: light blue and dark gold. Some people interpret as white and gold, some people interpret as blue and black
I can c both if I try hard enough, it’s easier for me to c gold and white tho
Never understood how people saw White and Gold. It's so obviously black and blue especially because of the background showing how well lit the area is around it. Its white and gold
How do u see black n blue
Because we aren’t all clones, mind blowing right
When putting them side by side with the light I still saw gold amd white...when I saw it in the shop it looked black and blue
why do I see blue and gold?

"Why did some people see gold and white" me: WHY DID SOME PEOPLE SEE BLACK AND BLUE
i precieved the dress under the sunlight and I still see it as black and blue.
Im thinking this dress has colors that are not visible to every eye
Octarine?

Yesss, for all these years, i got it right. Black & Blue
2:21 and you just show us real blue and black colors.😅
Black and blue yes, but I see pink and gold in the fully lit dress.
I dont see the dress neither white/gold nor black/ blue ... I see gold and blue
The dress in the video is clearly not the same dress, might be the same model, bua bit different on the top, and black and blue colours are too saturated to be misconceived. I first saw black and blue but I could see gold and white after increasing the brightness of my laptop screen
I think the caption should have read "Why did some people see a blue and black dress".
But why i still see it as gold and white even if i zoom it closely.. I've tried so many times still can't see blue and black
I saw black and blue when my boss scrolled to another pic.
The "shadows vs direct sunlight" explanation does not make much sense.

I found that zooming in and oyt changes the colour
How can someone say yellow to that blue and black color dress
This is the first time I seen it black and blue
I just watched dress change colors in my face when i see real dress
If some one was to offer me either 1 million dollars or to get a chance to see this dress in white and gold, i would regret the decision for the rest of my life for taking the 1 million dollars
Even if it looks gold...
It still looks like either blue and black
Or blue and gold
How do people see white in there?
Team white and gold
👇
The background is far too bright for it to ever be white and gold
*In bright lighting, the dress looks white and gold. In darker light, it does look black and blue.*
I see it in both colors
Don't forget that at night all cats are grey.
I can only see black and blue. idk people think its brown or white and gold
But I see in this video both white and gold dress , blue and black
Came here because of the ps k45
Not this again...
They pissing me off 😂
I’ve only been able to see black and blue
its white and gold
I’ve seen white and gold once. I’m only see black and blue
I see black and blue. The sun hits it, some people see it lightened up like gold or white. Not that complicated
I see black and blue but at the same time i see Blue and Gold 🤔🤔
whatever you look it, its still black and blue
Im sering it actually as blue and gold so...
I can see both black and blue and white gold
Bro it's definitely white and gold
The real dress is white and gold
I see blue and gold….uh anyone else?

After it is introduced it is still the same dark light dark light checkerboard. Grr
No it's because of the light was infact changing the colors of the dress and the angle was also a factor 😂
I newer saw it as white and i dont get how you do it
where the hell do you guys see white like I can see the gold but white???
I say the dress is Yanny, not Laurel!
It is in fact blue.
Idk if its just cus i have a extra color receptor but even in he different lightings ive NEVER seen it as white and gold yes in the original picture the black part has a yellow tint but its clearly black still

its like the girl who tried telling us 2 + 2 = 5. 😂
Bruhh that camera was bad😂
Because they’re colpoublind
yeah this entire thing is fake and thank god i just don't care
this is blue and black
I cannot see white and gold
me when I lie
This is dumb. If you know how a checker board works, those 2 squares should be different colors. Otherwise you got a bad board.
Also I screen shot the video, put it into Photoshop and used the dropper tool on each. Different
I got chills. I opened the snipping tool in windows 11, took a screenshot of A square, than B square, than A and B together. B screenshot looks darker than in original picture, but it changes depending on what screenshot i see before it. Try switching between 3 screenshots(A, B, A and B)
I can sitll see golden if i try hard but i just cannot see white .
Lmao it's actually black and blue.
Well I see white and gold like hardcore so I guess im broken or something
same :'D
okay hear me out… or maybe they are just colourblind
Only idiots see it as white and gold. 🎉
