Joel Brache Well if they were seasoned gun fighters they could've returned fire and killed the defender since he was stationary. I would not wanna be in a driver's seat when bullets start flying your way. Very limited cover and your car becomes your coffin.
Yep, I totally understand your point. But what other options did he really have? I'm thinking he might have been able to sneak out the passenger door, or maybe come out earlier. It's just my opinion, but I think he did the best with what the situation handed him.
Surf you counterpoint yourself. Any seasoned gun fighter would have had their gun trained on the door of the vehicle the moment it made a sound. Then you are even more stuck because there is only 1 way out of it. Also, how do you shoot on your exit from it? You would be lucky to have a half decent controlled shot.

Kicking the bike over was an excellent strategy to prevent them from getting away on it a few minutes later
Kicking the motorcycle over was a beautiful tactic. It gave them zero reason to return in that direction. With it parked there's a better chance of recovering it. But not if it's laying on its side. That makes it too risky.

I love this channel. John seems like such a nice guy without some sort of political agenda. He's clearly pro-gun but doesn't preach about the first amendment. He seems like he genuinely cares about people's safety and wants to share his expertise in what to do if you are a victim of a violent crime. Keep up the good work John!

Kudos to the elderly gentleman who was aware of what what was happening behind him. He did a good job by waiting until they were next to the car then he set the perfect ambush for the two invaders.

One of the problems with not pursuing them to “the end”, or so you can arrest them after being attacked in your own home (or business), is that you may have “driven off the threat” for the moment, but they can come back for revenge anytime or day bc they know where you live. That’s not a good feeling, bc there’s no sense of closure.
Leaving father, daughter, or granddaughter home alone to go to the store or work in the days/weeks after that, would be worrisome. Make sure they have guns, and know how to use them if necessary.
This kind of experience can leave someone feeling vulnerable forever in that house.
I could never be a criminal, I wouldn't have the balls knowing anybody I try and rob could be armed.

John I'm from Australia... We barely have guns in the hands of good guys or bad guys but your videos have taught me about situational awareness... I carry a legal knife... I'm not getting caught out unprepared or defenseless in a terrorist situation and if someone tries to rob me I'll use your techniques to make sure I come out safe and on top. Thank you for making us realise that being prepared is better than being dead or injured.

I accept the possibility that bad guys may get their hands on automatic or semi automatic weapons but there isn't CCW in Australia its incredibly hard to even get a civilian pistol or long arm licence... Even for animal control or pistol club membership... Terrorists most likely will be armed with knives or vehicles... My legal knife is my only legal option for self defense... If I could carry a 18 round 9mm I fuckin would. If you have any positive recommendations on how I could be better prepared I'd like to hear them...

I'm pretty sure she kicked the bike over to make sure you cant take off on it. if she covers another area or walks inside real quick they can use it to get away. sorta immobilized it for an extra few seconds.

The old dude shuffling around (limited mobility) and having with weak wrists (he looked kinda feeble) wouldn't have been able to handle the robbers if they came back. He surprised them when they opened the door; but if they came back, they would be ready for him and probably take the gun from him. The woman seemed comfortable handling the gun and she was carrying herself confidently in the aftermath. It occurs to me that she might be an off-duty cop and felt the situation was safer with her handling the gun to do follow-up actions after the old dude drove them off. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that was her gun in the vehicle. She was probably the better shot, anyway, so yeah, give her the gun.

In situations like this, I'm not convinced that it's a bad idea to run them off if you are able. If you aren't keeping eyes on them when you have the upper hand and just taking cover, they could realize you are no longer an immediate threat and decide to try again. Nothing would be stopping them from just turning around to try their luck without the threat of a gun on their backs, and you would have no way of knowing if they are still a threat or where and when they may return.
Awww! Grandpa was doing a good job of acting as the man of the house until he was thwarted. I hope he still feels a sense of self-worth.
