We've got a lot of exciting stuff down the pipeline and I can't wait to show you guys! But until then, I hope you enjoy the reaction and I'll see you guys in the next video, much love! (I sounded way too much like Alex there lmao)
Caesar is basically Moses. He grew up “in the king’s house”, than he spoke to god and got enlightened, saves his people from slavery and death and dies seeing them arriving at the promised land.
Loosely based on Moses, but yes, essentially. There are certainly similarities between Caesar’s story and Moses’. Although, Moses himself never really saw a day of real slavery in his life. Caesar experienced it being put in that tiny sanctuary in the first movie. But Moses was chilling living a pretty great life even by Egyptian standards most of the time, and once every like 6 months in reality, he’d go talk to the pharaoh and profess the will of the Lord, and pharaoh would be like “Tf? Lol, get out of here with that, dude.” Also, Caesar got to see the Promised Land of the apes; Moses did not. Moses was included in the generation that the Lord doomed to die before seeing the Promised Land. It was Joshua, under direction by Moses before his death in the desert, who was one of the first people to lay their eyes on the Promised Land of Canaan, a land of Milk and Honey.
Thanks for the answer! Obviously it’s not a 1:1 compression, but he is definitely more Moses than Jesus as Alex alluded to. Like Moses he was rescued at birth, grew up with humans/the king in high standers. Like you said, Moses himself never sufferd the fate of his Hebrew brothers and sisters and was never a slave. And according to the scriptures, even though he never stepped foot in the lands - Moses did “see” the promises land, from Mount Nebo, just beyond the Jordan River.
Rocket too! He's super underrated IMO, he's been Caesar's loyal right hand ever since Caesar took control of the chimp prison in the first movie and gave them all intelligence.
Noticed the grey bits on ceaser and some of the other apes whos been with him from the beginning, thought that was a nice touch to show hes not a young one any more ❤
I went into this movie thinking it was gonna be an action epic. Instead, I got a biblical story laced with Star Wars and Apocalypse Now, and I couldn't have been more happy with how it all ended.
I feel like In War, they played the religious themed really well. It was subtle, but clear at the same time. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, in my opinion, gods a little too intense with comparing Caesar to Jesus. It’s sort of in your face the whole entire time.
@@johnnyrocket1685 It kind of made sense the apes will exaggerate Ceaser's story after centuries of telling his story mouth to mouth. Our human mythologies must've had some truth to them but were distorted extremely over the centuries
One of the deleted scenes in this movie, mentions that Malcolm the human lead in the previous movie met his demise at the hand of this colonel... Such a sad ending for Caesar's good friend...😢😢😢
Something just came to my mind, I might be missing something but Caeser and Maurice out of most apes are the few apes that have names most human-like and common names, probably in a way to humanize them. It’s same as caeser learning that they are more alike than either side really sees, both Caesar and Maurice are the ones that pick up that both apes and humans really are two different sides of the same coin
Ceasar was named bc of the julius ceasar title in ancient rome. It was foreshadowing on the grandpa's(first movie)part abt him becoming a leader & conqueror. Maurice was former circus animal. Both have been named by humans, the other apes named themselves & eachother. So in a sense it's to show how they were raised by humans which anthropomorphes them. Also in nature orangutans are the smartest & most peaceful apes. Chimps come in second in intelligence but aren't as peaceful. So think that's made on purpose too not just to make them stand out better.
@@greyscalesxI don’t necessarily mean in plot standpoint, more of out of the eyes of the viewers. But for sure the ones exposed to humans and the ones that grew up with them would be most understanding to the humans and the human condition.

Definitely one of the best trilogies in cinematic history. It might feel like Kingdom is not as good in comparison because of the standard this trilogy set for it, but personally I loved the next movie just as much.
Maurice is the coolest, most loving OG orangutan ever. 1: Maurice 2: Ceasar 3: All gorilla lieutenants in all the movies. Because gorillas (except Winter) are the bravest, most loyal apes. 4: Rocket 5: Nova, the little girl. I love every moment she is on the screen. Who cares that she's not an ape. She is mighty.
One of the best science fiction trilogies ever. The first movie is good and built a good foundation for the characters, but once Matt Reeves took over the franchise with Dawn and War, it just went way up on a whole different level of incredible. Caesar is one of the best protagonists we’ve gotten. His entire journey is so beautiful.
