Trevor Noah's non-scripted between the scenes dialogues give people a good look into just how talented of a story teller and comedian he actually is.

Thomas Buchovecky When I went to the show he was being challenged by an antigun control advocate. The person asked how the government would be able to know what people's intentions were when they bought guns. He responded in saying "we may not be able to know the intentions people have in their hearts, but at least we will be able to screen them from acting upon them". I think this is one of the wisest things I've heard regarding gun control, the crowd erupted in applause and the guy challenging Trevor stopped talking.

@Thomas Buchovecky Give the guy a break, Thomas. Just because he is not saying "what you want to hear" doesn't make him an idiot. He has his own perceptive on things and his viewers "can relate to" it. If you don't like it, then don't watch his show or his videos, for that matter. I'm sure he wouldn't be bothered by said decision. Jumping from comment to comment to undermine the guy's intellect isn't going to benefit anyone; yourself included. Oh well, here comes the rage....*sighs* lol

What he probably didn't have time to explain is that this phrase was coined by the men in the struggle to give credence to the fact that liberation from white minority rule was assured because it was being held together by the women they left behind in their absence (imprisoned, exiled, etc)." Imbokodo", which in this context loosely translates to 'rock is in reference and pays homage to the mining culture in South Africa, where menial and often archaic means of mining were used to extract minerals (picks and shovels). This form of mining can only be easy where the sand permits i.e. where you aren't hindered by rocks, grinding stones- an immovable object. Suffice it to say, "wathint' abafazi, wathint' imbokodo" means, whatever your agenda may be, it has to be supported by and in line with the will of women, because without them there is no thoroughfare, there is no going around them. They hold up, as President Thomas Sankara said, the other half of the sky

I have so much love for Trevor, but his audience is annoying at times. As soon as they hear woman, they cheer, no matter the context. It's like the applause that took place when Michelle said they lived in a house built by slaves.

The first 20 or 30 comments on any TH-cam video are the most meaningless bits of sentences ever constructed. And to top it off they are asking for likes for their dribble.

In our history text books there was a small mention about a ZA women group called Black Ash .. they were freedom fighters... In India also, our freedom struggle brought large number of women out of their home

To anyone who enjoys Trevors stuff, on the daily show our otherwise I absolutely recommend his book "born a crime". It's all about his growing up in South Africa and is both very funny and thought provoking.

To those who think women have an easy life in South Africa, ask about the percentage of women who have at some point in their lives been abused, how many girls and women get raped every day in SA etc. Sayings are all very well and I'm sure Trevor grew up respecting women but that is not true across the board.

I love how proud he is of his country the great South Africa! also Charlize Theron, those who went to America and won the hearts of the world but most importantly the growing affection of their own people. Unlike Elon Musk who is ashamed to be even refereed to as "South African born" you can see his face turning green how disgusted he is about it and how he wishes he were all American.

Winnie was involved in necklacing and appeared before the TRC to gain amnesty for her promotion of terrorist acts, acts that affected black people as they were the common targets of necklacing, there's a reason Madiba left her, she became what he despised, a violent person.

What he does in between the commercial brake is something amazing and natural. I can connect with it. Trevor Noah needs to stop acting funny. Sometimes the true meaning of his message is post in his desperation to be funny. Above video sent the message yet had comic relief.
