That said, I have lived seeing how my white privilege gave me more ability to move up and advance to a upper-lower class/lower-middle class. I saw it first hand by how I was treated asking for assistance compared to blacks and other minorities, white privileged is real, systemic racism is real...

Hell yes🙌🏻 I mean, I’m white, but I have white family that is just sooo racist, I tried to change their minds but 🙄 . I firmly believe that racism is a choice. Like my dad taught me “all black people are bad” so as a kid I talked to a lot of black people to learn what is so bad about them... I discovered that black people are not bad. I learned that just because one person of a race may do something bad doesn’t make the whole race bad. So while I know that there a lot of white south africans that are racist, and while I do want to apologize on behalf of them, I just want you to know, that you have your one white South African here who sees you as an equal.

You cant be serious, Americans have really gone mad. Aside from reparations being absolutely impractical, Why should a white person who had nothing to do with slavery pay a black person who did not experience slavery in 2020 in US? Dont come with examples like jews getting reparations, they experienced the holocaust themselves. Poor black people in the US right now have the same reason to be poor as impoverished white families, not slavery. Most families that I know that are considered rich became rich in the last 50 years at most.
Outside of the US and the democratic party nobody in the world understands your reasoning behind reparations, it sounds absolutely ridiculous to us (I am not biased on this as I am half black living in the netherlands).
Yes I hate trump and I support progressives and am against most conservative ideas, but right now the democrats are way too extreme for me. Supporting the rioters and looters of antifa and BLM is what the left in the US has come to.

We use anti-union efforts to make sure people have no voice in a debate, most of the times the tools of enslavement is couched as a right or freedom.
Right to work suppresses collective bargaining... shut up you slave, or I’ll whip you
Right to not provide reproductive medicine to protect your religious freedom .... actually, it is a whip to keep people in line. @Ruth Bladder-Ginsbag that's well and dandy that you think you understand racism in America because of your Black spouse, good for you! 💁🏽‍♀️ I said nothing about Black Americans not being able to find success in America in 2020. In fact, Black Americans have been able to find success in many fields, including the sciences such as medicine, astrophysics and engineering, psychology, philosophy, mathematics, literature, politics and so on - even DURING Jim Crow. We've always had Black leaders and pillars in our community who defy odds and prove that higher education is attainable, and I aint just talking about Fredrick Douglas and MLK.. Research Black Wall Street, then read about the tragedies that ensued afterwards when a white woman claimed she was sexually harassed by a black man from Greenwood District, Tulsa, OK. During that time, it was literally illegal for a Black driver to pass a White driver on the street, hence why I drew the comparison since it's not a new phenomenon that white supremacist and their leaders made up the majority of the police force 😒... and they still do today.
Please don't act like Jim Crow was such a long time ago and the systematic efforts that it launched in place are not still trickling down and felt by those who are not only old enough to remember it, but also still feeling the effects of it to this day as it trickles down to their children and grandchildren. My parents were born 1959 and 1961, respectively. Racial segregation and the "Jim Crow" era did not end on paper until 1965, but the damage was already done. If you assume my parents suddenly did not face racism growing up in the late 60's and early 70's, like it magically disappeared, you would be mistaken. Everything to our economy and banking systems, our policing system, even city planning and especially our judicial system still reek of post-Jim Crow influence and the marginalization of Black Americans.
Why don't you ask your Black spouse if it makes them uncomfortable when they're the only Black person in a room, or if they experiences any racial bias when shopping for a home or applying for a loan. Why don't you ask them if they've ever been followed in a store (discreetly or not), or if they've ever had to field microaggressions from a professor or work colleague. If you GENUINELY believe that there is no racism in this country, you would not feel the need to contradict me in a YT comment section. We wouldn't be having these discussions around racial injustice and the systems in place that enforce it. So I respectively disagree with your opinion on race in America 2020. Thx.

Trevor, that was the best explanation of the politics of "All Lives Matter." I've been looking for a way to explain the dichotomy, that is perfect.
I grew up close to "dirt-poor," but because we never were without food and only a couple times had difficulty making the $5/wk rent (1950), plus a mom who never complained about the poverty - in my hearing - I also had a significant degree of unrealized "white privilege." Didn't understand till the Air Force sent me to Biloxi, Mi. in 1961-63...
Even the dirt-poor, homeless white man has more rights than a middle-class black man.

Slave owners could sell your children , your husband, wife, parents, siblings. You might never see or hear about them again. It is as though you had been given a life sentence at birth with no chance of parole or pardon and without having committed a crime. For the person who equated slavery with economic upheaval think about it. When you were a child you had a childhood, you went to school, no one could sell you and you did have to start working as soon as you were able, and no one probably sold your mother. Not everyone had the best childhood so maybe yours was hard, but not slavery. When you grew up you had a job and your money was your own and your time after work was your own and you probably had a week or two of paid vacation every year. I didn't but a lot of people do, maybe you didn't. Slaves didn't get pay or vacations. If you had any idea that your industry was ending you had the ability or possibility of trying to learn a new skill. A slave was not allowed to read and they and anyone who taught them could face serous charges if they were found reading. You might not have always liked your job, maybe you did but if you didn't you could always quit. Slaves can't quit. Sometimes they were branded. If they tried to escape they were often mutilated. They were whipped and beaten. One Hundred years after slavery ended the Civil Rights Act was passed by Democratic President Lyndon Johnson and there is still a second class citizenship for many blacks in our country, including efforts to keep them from voting. I believe the first slaves were brought here in 1619 and they and their children for generations until 1865 were used and abused to serve from birth til death. Many people are suffering now. But that doesn't remotely compare to 350 years of slavery plus Jim Crow.

What about what the USA did to Native Americans? 100,000,000 slaughtered throughout the years, but nobody wants to talk about that. Everybody talks about the Holocaust, slavery, and all these other events - which is really bad too. Native Americans get the short end of the stick, 100 million slaughtered gets swept under the rug. And maybe two reasons why: 1) it hasn’t been current enough to get people talking or documented like how the holocaust, slavery, civil rights was with pictures and video footage. 2) a lot people probably think Native Americans don’t exist anymore.
There should be justice and equality for all of us, it just gets to me that Native Americans always get left in the dark when it comes to hardships and suffering.

Same thing happened to me with a cop car.. identical!! He used the sirens I thought he want to pass me It took me 20 minutes to realize he wanted to stop me. And he did for no reason. Amazing . I couldn't believe it. Or understand it. He put me a ticket for something not ilegal at all. So I went to the court argue it and I won. ( I studied law in my country so American law doesn't scare me I read it before going to trial.) I won but the anyways charge me 40 dls. For using the court. Can u believe it? I was there in first place , because of your police guy. But they bill me. And because I'm in California over the 40 they put a lots of feeds and taxes I ended paying 400 dollars ( in payments of course I was tired to argue with these people so I paid) but I left the court with a bad taste in my mouth thinking I could defend myself because I know about law. But poor people can't. Even middle class can't. They don't know a shit about law. They only know what they say on tv. no one read the law here except they studied law. And because private education is so expensive and everyone want a profit they don't share if u don't pay. So the majority of the population don't know the law. Not even the cop who stopped me knows the law. !! That's why I won the trial.
