I’m Finnish and was raised to protect our wildlife . Both my grandparents on my moms side came from Finland. My grandfather from Karelia and Turku he came from a village that respected bears and when they hunted them meat was given first to the elders then the skull was hung high in trees as respect to the bear god for thanks. Stove people in theUS did the same thing. Funny how we can live mikes away and carry on the same customs. I was taught what I could eat in the forest and how to grow everything. I had the best childhood with my moms side of the family and my fathers side taught me banking and how to navigate a boat and sail.. We are simple Finnish meals . My niece lives in Finland and my brother has dual citizenship. I’m up image and sick now and still I hope to go to Finland to visit.
