Good ole key of C again, same as his fourth symphony. Hey Franz liszt did to write symphonic symphonies. What the heck u think symphonic poem is. Those are same damn thing. I’ll have it no other way, there for he is the third greatest composer of all time. Who else gets to invent there of type of classical piece, even tho it is a symphony, I believe just through composed meaning he don’t repeat him self and is having to make that sound good with new material throughout which is like Pink Floyd in 1972

A great piece and deserving of far more performances than the gloopy Korngold or the saccharine Walton.

I love this piece, but Walton "saccharine"? In his best works - the string concerti among them - there's a bitter edge to his harmonies as well as the sweetness. Ditto Szymanowski, they're not so far apart.
