Thank you so much for this. I’ve had my gel for a while and am finally ready to try. I have forms, but it’s nice this can be used to protect nails if you deal with weak nails like I do!
Okay hanks so much for sharing this. I bought the builder gel not realizing they were more for fake nails and I have no interest in having long fake nails. So this is exactly what I needed.❤
The mini size would be such a great option for those of us just dipping our toes 😏 into trying out builder gels on shorties at home for the first time!! Thanks for the the tips: very tempted because thin, weak nails are a frustration if you enjoy pretty manis.
I’m so glad I found your video. I bought some and tried it yesterday just messing around and had a few issues. But now when I’m ready to actually do them I can apply everything you talked about ❤️
Wish I would’ve watched this video first. My set looks pretty good for first time using builder gel…. but I didn’t flip hands over so my product did rest more to the sides. Lesson learned.
I love watching your videos, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us all! I have a lot of dip powders, but tire of the removal process. I only have success with acetone soaking to get it off. I have never been patient enough to file off the majority of the dip powder. If I did gel color over builder gel do you think that would be easier to file off and decrease soaking off? Also, do you prefer builder gel in a bottle over the pot?
I follow the steps but next day the start lifting from the free edge. Please advise 😊 I’m trying to let me nails grow but I definitely need some product on them.
would you recommend the protein based for the morovan builder gel kit, because it has a base coat but i’m not sure if i should use what you used before your base
Will the base grow out or do you have ro remove it and also if you were to do a colour on there would that need a cured base coat.. or can you just go in straight with a colour? Thank you. Ps how do you get it off if you needed to?
Hey great tutorial! A bit of help advice pls :) So I have a nail dehydrator, a nail primer (smelling and resembling the dehydrator a LOT) and a uv gel primer. Now I dunno how to use the first two? Which one is used when? I have seen nail technicians use just a dehydrator and go directly to applying a UV builder gel. But my question is, do I use the Uv base coat over the builder gel, before the gel polish? or do I use the UV basecoat on top of the dehydrator, right before I apply builder gel (and then continue with gel polish once the UV builder is cured)?
I’m interested in doing this. However, I’m concerned about the strength of my nails once it’s time to take them off. I’ve only had acrylic nails once. When I went to the nail shop to get them removed my nails were soooo soft. It really freaked me out. Does this happens with builder gel?
This is normal to happen with any nail product immediately after removal. After your nails have been exposed to air finally, after the product is removed, it will start to become stronger, and harder to the touch. I recommend applying cuticle oil after removal and not doing anything physical that could promote breaking a nail, or doing the dishes, etc...
@@TripleDDips I’ll definitely give it a try. I do wonder if the nail tech filed my nails down too low though. I don’t think cuticle oil would have helped. I should have said “thin” instead of “soft.” I just took off my first self dipping set an hour ago and my nails feel very healthy. I just applied strength builder polish and I’m waiting for my led light to do my first builder set this week!!
How strong is this gel? Im a auto mechanic and havent had nails past the bed for years. Ive grown them out and somehow havent broke them and have nearly the same length as you do in this video. Ive only ever done plain polish as a kid so have no knowledge on this stuffbut i really want to retain my nail length but i know it will break, or get ripped off from work. Im looking for a polish that will hold up to abrasive bending, twisting, impact etc without breaking
This builder gel is very strong. If you’re very hands on at work, we recommend doing a thicker coats. Too thin and you may experience pre mature lifting.
Many of our customers come to us because they’ve had their nails damaged from improper prep or removal. We care about our DIY customers not damaging their natural nails so we try not to suggest techniques that can cause damage to their nails when done in excess. It’s truly your choice, and if you’re experiencing lifting while following these techniques, you may want to better prep your nails so that the gel products can adhere to them.
That's what I thought they look gross and unclean but I think that's just how her natural nails look they look brown underneath where the smile line is
Thank you so much for this. I’ve had my gel for a while and am finally ready to try. I have forms, but it’s nice this can be used to protect nails if you deal with weak nails like I do!
You sound just like Pam from the office omg
I can’t un-hear this now lol 😂
She does :)
Lmao omg she does
She really does lol like spot on
Love Pam. Nice effect.

This is so helpful. I’m a musician and was trying to find some solutions for nails and it is so overwhelming. This was so great

I like seeing people work on natural nails best, but I don't mind a builder gel either! I should give them a try at some point!
Thank you so much for doing a video using your nondominant hand. This is what I struggle with while doing my own nails.
Never comment but Stephany your positivity Is contagious thank you for your words
Wrong confo 🤣
Wish I would’ve watched this video first. My set looks pretty good for first time using builder gel…. but I didn’t flip hands over so my product did rest more to the sides. Lesson learned.
I relate to the deep set nails! A real pain.
Oh wow 😍 , how long do you flip your hand for? For gravity to work on the curve?
15-30 seconds ☺️
Awesome video! Just what I was looking for.
Thank you so much. Looks great Can't wait to try. 👍💅
Thanks for this video, you definitely went over all the things I needed to know for a nice application! ❤️

If I want to apply color gel when I am done applying my builder gel what do I need to do?
Do I need to fill the builder gel?
When using the brush to put the gel on, what do you clean it with when you are done? Acetone?
Rubbing alcohol or clear gel. 🥰
Do we remove the sticky layer after the base coat??? 😅
Thank you for great video! Lots of good tips. Where did you get your low profile finger stand/rest?
Liquid Layers : liquidlayers.studio/product-category/finger-rests/
@@TripleDDips Thank you! I also like the brush ring/rest.
I'm a licensed manicurist and it looks like you are dragging your brush instead of floating the product but I love your builder gel application
Thought the same thing
Why do you use a builder gel if your using a base coat ? Does the builder gel just harden then nail ? Thank you!
Could you post a link to your little pink holder/stand/support thing?
Great tips! Thank you so much....:)
thanks for the vid! would you be able to do this before dipping? trying to find a method to protect my nails
Yes you totally can. Just remove the tacky layer before you dip.
What about fake nails? :)
Is polygel and builder gel that's not in a pot but from a bottle the same thing?
Poly gel is much thicker than bottle gel
I follow the steps but next day the start lifting from the free edge. Please advise 😊 I’m trying to let me nails grow but I definitely need some product on them.
Hi! Are you using a primer or bonder for gel?
would you recommend the protein based for the morovan builder gel kit, because it has a base coat but i’m not sure if i should use what you used before your base
Is the base the same as base coat??? Like can I use Beatles gel basecoat? If not, what exactly do I use?
Will the base grow out or do you have ro remove it and also if you were to do a colour on there would that need a cured base coat.. or can you just go in straight with a colour? Thank you. Ps how do you get it off if you needed to?
It grows out but you can remove it, soak in acetone and buff down on the nail to remove
Truly beautiful. How long will this last before a redo?
2-3 weeks!
Newbie
So it doesn't clump up when applying multiple times?

1) dehydrator on natural nail plate, 2) base 3) builder gel
Polish last
I ordered the gel. How do you recommend cleaning the brush afterwards?
Gently wipe with a little bit of rubbing alcohol. You don’t want to wipe it all the way clean, only to get off excess dripping product.
Can you file the builder gel if any bumps are seen after curing? And then paint with polish?
You can! You should just wipe the tacky layer off first before filing or buffing.
I love you omg you sound JUST like Pam Beesley 💜 currently Pam Halpert
hi, Did you cure every finger before you the other fingers?
With the floating of the product the thickness and smoothness is hard to visual how that's going to cure without lumps?
Thanks so much for the shortie Tutorial!!!!!
Is protein bond the same as primer & dehydrator ?
Where did you get the finger rest from? Thanks in advance
SOOOOO helpful thank you!!!
Do I have to use gel polish on top? I want to use my beautiful Indie polishes.
Thank you so much! That was really informative - great pace!
Did you dry the builder gel?
can i file soft gel or gel x?
You don't need to use slip solution or alcohol when applying the gel?
Not for the builder gel 🥰
Thanks, how to remove ?
Soak with acetone or file
@@brookrichards5794 Thanks
Thanks for this tutorial!
I can feel the difficulty and tension putting paint on the right hand 😂
Is this a 3 phase gel application?🙏🏻
After wiping with rubbing alcohol can you apply a colored gel nail polish?
I would lightly buff the top so the gel polish can stick well.
You apply gel polish over the tacky layer, cure, then wipe with alcohol
Can you paint the shorties

Can u paint a color gel polish over these?
You absolutely can! Just leave the builder gel tacky before applying gel polish, or apply gel base coat prior to applying the gel polish.
good information
How do you remove builder gel if you want it off? Soak?
Yes, 100% pure acetone soak is the best way.
Have you ever done like an overlay/ infill instead of soaking off?
❤wow that good
How do you ensure the gel will not be lumpy it's hard to see
Thank you Much 💜
How do you add color? I don’t want my nails clear
En Costa Rica donde lo podría obtener…
So you need to our something on the cuticle if they look puffy
Absolutely! 🥰 thank you for the suggestion 🙏🏻
I add acrylic powder to my builder gel.. It works great..just dont add it to ur builder gel container
I think I made mine too thick how do u know if it’s too thick?
I was told to use sculpt solution once the builder is on nail
What's the difference between builder gel and overlays?
They're the same, you overlay your nail with the builder gel
You said you used the triple d gel base but then the bottle you used was black?
It was an open tester bottle ☺️💖
Can I use my regular base coat gel nail polish before builder gel ?
If it’s a gel base coat, absolutely!
Where can I buy the little finger stand you used in this video?
liquidlayers.studio/shop/
@@TripleDDips thank you! Heading over!
Hi I have a question how do you remove them and where can I buy this gel??
Hi! You can remove them by soaking in 100% pure acetone.

Is protein bond similar to sticky bond?
I’m not sure - as it can vary from brand to brand.
Can i use builder gel without uv lamp?
Absolutely not!
so with this technique you dont need to file to remove the shinny on your nails before start?

What is builder gel used for
This video explains it…
Can i apply gel color on top of this builder gel?
Yes you can. Just don’t wipe off the tacky layer of the builder gel. The tacky layer will help the gel polish stick to it
Can it be cured with LED?
Yes 🤗
Does it lift ?
Not if prepped properly. We recommend using a gel primer to help prevent lifting
So I have tried this but everytime I wipe off with rubbing alcohol it always looks dull why is that? Drives me nuts
My nails are shorter than your shortie nails!
It is nice but for me it keeps disturbing me
You do you, but IMO a short nail with an apex looks bad. It looks almost like clubbed nails.
I dont like the way it looks tbh its not smooth or even
You did not “build” anything .
I don’t understand ?
Your cuticles look painful are they?
Not at all. 🥰💖
Please stop destroying your proximal fold.
Why are all your cuticles looking damaged and swollen as of you have witlo on all your fingers???

Her nails looked horrible... Was this a joke?
That's what I thought they look gross and unclean but I think that's just how her natural nails look they look brown underneath where the smile line is
