Yeah about Tarja, she is much more an art singer than a rock singer. She started her musical studies already as a kid, and first it was contemporary music. But then in Savonlinnan taidelukio (Savonlinna highschool of arts) she changed to classical music and continued with church music studies in Sibelius Academy which is a university level music school. After that she went to Germany Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe to study lied singing, which also includes opera arias. And she also has had classical and opera singing private tutors, her teacher Mitsuko Shirai from Karlsruhe and in Argentina an opera singer and vocal professor Marta Blanco. So that she can sing operetta and opera, is no surprise. That she sings metal, is a surprise.

Thank you so much for this reaction! I love her performance. What comes to her metal performances, I think, the contrast with her classical singing and metal band, makes them fascinating. E.g. her era in Nightwish was so unique. - This song is also called "Adele's laughing song". (Adele is a maid who tries to convince "My Lord Marquis" that she is not a maid but a lady (small hands and feet, Grecian profile, waist, etc. ) She is telling that the "mistake" of the gentleman to think she is a chambermaid is funny.
