- Following my Windows 10X vs 11 comparison video, I decided to compare Windows 11 with an older yet significant version, which is Windows 7.

Windows 7 still looks the best to me. It was so fresh to me back then and it still holds up.
I used it for 12 years and it never got old, 15 days with Windows 10 and I'm already regretting it.
it is best, i even still use it. the only thing i "cant" do is play call of duty on it. but so far i am accepting this single downside.
10 years with 10 PC's with 7. No problem. Light, fast and simple. No reason to move for "security"to another os. :)

I'm still using Windows7 on my 13 year old PC.
The only reason I am getting a new PC - is that windows 10+ refusing to run on my CPU.
Windows is not becoming better and better anymore - it's just becoming more and more bloated.
It's crazy to think that 10 years ago, Windows 7 was still the latest version of Windows.

I don't mind Win10 flatness, it may be meh in comparison with Win7 but the squareishness is not really the issue, it's the unbearably suffocating lack of customization.

Windows 11 is like Windows 7 and Windows 10 had a baby, since Windows 11 has the calm peaceful feel as Windows 7, but bits of the Metro UI-ness from Windows 10.

Well, since i like both of them, i did a dualboot with Windows 7 and Windows 11, sure, i don't use Windows 7 as much as Windows 11, however, i like to give both OSes different uses.

Graphically Windows 11 is the "lite version" of Windows 7. With the return of light/shadow effects, in the edges and transparency of the windows.
About transparency, i honesty prefer the glass effect from windows 7

I feel as if for Windows 11, Microsoft was feeling nostalgic for Windows 7, and so went “Scrap this Metro, we're going Retro” and full remastered Windows 7. Keeping in mind, not the looks as the first priority, but the feeling of similarity and freshness with it. And just to not alienate itself from the modernistic features from Windows 10 and 8, it added Widgets as an afterthought. That being said, the widgets panel can be really good if proper features are added.

I honestly like Microsoft is going feature-wise. I do hope they allow us to move the widgets from the widget menu to the desktop to make them more useful, similar to the gadgets in Vista/7 (and also allow third-party widgets, now that the Microsoft Store can allow for more safer programs), and also incorporate a similar transparent Aero theme to windows, but with the modern flatness (doesn’t have to be glassy) to match the vibe of the operating system in future updates to make the operating system better.

Windows 7 was Windows at its best. So many good memories I had with it. I'd be running it today if it didn't unfortunately seem that everything is no longer supported by it. Which, does anybody have tips for running the OS on a current-era CPU? (Specifically, a Ryzen 5600X?)
You can easily run this Windows on Ryzen 5600X without any problems.

excuse me if i prefer having an os made for desktop pc than made for touch screen stuff, i don't need oversized buttons and interface, useless start menu and all those stuff made to help touch screen
and aero is a way more sofisticated design than metro/fluent stuff that are just a simplistic flat design
even windows 95 have more depth and relief than that lol

I feel like the black background of the windows 11 shutting down/restarting dialogue, or the CRTL+ALT+DEL menu should have a blurred version of your wallpaper instead just black to fit in better with the design

Bro really did the windows 11 calculator a huge disservice, you only have to open it in fullscreen to see that it has like a dozen different modes including dedicated programming and graphing calculators. They really went all out with it and this guy only showed the simple popup calculator...
Petition for Microsoft to bring Aero back or add an Aero theme in the settings.

windows 11 yeni kurdum bundan önce 10 nu kullanıyordum mecburen çünkü yeni sistem kurdum ama aklım hala daha win. 7 de çok güzeldi. basit sade ve şıkdı. destek vermediği için bu yeni çıkardıkları saçma sapan işletim sistemlerini kullanıyoruz.
2025 da windows 10 support bitterse hemen linux'e gececem. O zamanda belki her oynadim oyunlar da linux de calisir. Turkcem biraz zayif pardon

Windows Vista has better UI. But you can customize Windows 7 to make it look almost exactly like Windows Vista (up to 98%). Both the OSs based on the same codes so it's very easy to make one look exacly like the other.
@Fearful Harmony No, they aren't. Did you ever install Vista SP2 for seeing the differences? It's not only the wallpaper btw.
@Fearful Harmony The titlebar buttons is a little bit smaller, the start menu contains 2 buttons for lock and shut down the computer, the Windows Explorer didn't have the libraries, the auto-arrange option wasn't present in Wimdows Explorer, Getting Started had a different background for the top banner, the Windows orb is displayed with a animation in the Logon UI, Paint didn't have a Ribbon UI-styled toolbar, the startup screen had only a loading bar and the gadgets had a unique sidebar. (And btw, that obviously isn't all the differences between Windows 7 and Vista)
look, I'm a connoisseur of windows and I looked very carefully to see that windows 11 is really a hybrid of these 3 windows and to realize that it's a hybrid do the same thing I did and you forget first to all three operating systems then you analyze windows 11 after you have analyzed the three operating systems and you will see that windows 11 has something from maybe these three operating systems

A i5 4th gen can run it with little to no lag, even though it’s GPU is Intel HD Integrated Graphics.

The real comparison should be the time it takes to open stuff in them using same hardware, the time it takes for them to log-in into the user after a sleep, the time they both take to warn you the password is wrong (windows 10 takes a fucking long time to tell you, you tiped the wrong password its annoying).

I like the glass Aero skin of Win 7 the most. Set my KDE Plasma look quite same.
Windows 11 is better (in terms of software and hardware support) and stuff but god I really miss Aero Glass, it looked really nice and unique, and Windows 11's UI is just an oversimplified inconsistent garbage (I mean, it's kinda better than what we had in 10 but still)

Im still using Win7 for gaming and everything cuz i have a low end graphics card (GT 705) and i would use windows 10 but nah, i get 5 FPS on games while on windows 7 i get 20-60 fps
Use a Linux distro. i use arch personally but you can go with Mint if you don't want to install all the things manually.
