@@ericellis9281 Newbies; They've successfully "mounted and dismounted" their motorcycles from "the left hand side".
(Sad) 😢 Some have never even seen what's on "the right hand side".....

@@dolioff Whenever you say, "always" or "never" you'll always be wrong. There's several things that can make mounting from the right hand side, safer, more convenient, and sometimes even necessary.

That's a good way to dump the motorcycle and hurt someone, but each to their own!!
You won’t dump your motorcycle this way. I mean I guess if you don’t understand how to centralize your mass over the left of center of gravity of the bike but mounting from the high side is a good skill to have and motor officers do it every single day all day.
@@David.. No problem David, if you want to do it that way, do it! I've been riding since the late sixties and always got on my bikes from the left. I never step up on the foot peg, I always grab the handle bars and throw my leg over. If you're a short person your way would work better maybe?

Actually this is the best side. If you dismount and mount high side on the side of the road you protect yourself from getting hit if you slip off while mounting

@@garrettteague2314Mounting/dismounting from the right takes load off the sidestand so it's more likely to slip. Mounting from the left is the safer way.
It really doesn't matter. Just make sure the majority of mass stays on thr left side
Always mount on the side of the side stand. That way, should you accidentally stumble, you always have the side stand to prop up the bike.
That's not why, it's because it's easier to mount when the bike is leaning towards you. A skilled rider doesn't care what direction it's leaning.

I've been riding street and dirt for 55 yrs. My suggestion to these two is buy some hi-vis jackets or vests and quit trying to be invisible on the road! You look like your camouflaged for some sort of military operation! No better way to get pancaked by Aunt Millie who can't see you in broad daylight, let alone at night!
I'm 54 years old. (Not a Noobie) I ride every day of the year. I installed Handlebar Muffs on my motorcycle, (like smart Snowmobilers use). I don't have heated grips, because I don't need them. My hands always stay warm & dry, (out of the wind & rain), I always wear Hi-Vis gear at night, but in the Winter time, (during the day), I always wear black, because it gets warmer whenever the Sun is shining. I always carry a rear trunk, so I always mount & dismount from the right hand side, because that's the safest, easiest, & it's the correct way to mount an ADV with rear luggage and/or panniers. (The same technique that's used by virtually every Motorcycle Cop in the World) !
Also, I always compliment motorcyclists & riders who dress in full protective gear, (as I also dress the same)....and I never tell riders how to dress safer, (even if they're riding Bare Assed Naked) !
"camouflaged for some sort of military operation" that's hilarious and true... Dressing like a Spec Op when you need to be visible doesn't work well.
If you can't see a Black object moving in front/side of you while your driving, you won't see any Hivis color, besides that is what lights are for
@@fidobite3798 I think that you’re a little overconfident about the immortal feature within your Hi-Vis riding gear. I wear my Hi-Vis AT NIGHT. Black clothing works fine during the day, and it’s warmer on cold days. Choose your own wardrobe. Don’t try to tell other riders, what colors they need to be wearing.
What makes you think that they were going on a Night Ride, anyhow ?

My wife likes the 250 better. Easier to climb up. We are not young.
Perhaps. Bikes with luggage cases don't fall over, as far. A single rider, can usually remove the trunk and the top case, before lifting, but usually won't have a problem, unless they are weak. Most guys don't drop a bike like this.

Hopefully, drivers would be able to see you on the road. It is amazing how they managed to convince so many that black means elegance. In fact making any stuff black is the cheapest. Any other colours would be more expensive.
Here’s a tip. It’s even easier again if the pillion passenger uses the riders foot peg to get on with. It’s lower and the bike is easier to keep balanced while there’s less travel in the suspension.

It’s basics, always mount on the side with the side stand. Same for the passenger see how she destabilises him? If she mounted on the side stand side then the bike would’ve never moved not even a inch

Mounting from the right is just fine. He looks a bit inexperienced, at least with this bike, as he should have driven his right knee into the side of the tank and shifted his weight over the bike before putting it down on the peg. That would keep the bike from pulling up away from the kickstand as much as it did.
If you can flatfoot it, then using the peg to climb is not really necessary. Also I would climb from the side of the side stand

Don't unload the sidestand by mounting that way. Might work on a perfectly level, hard surface, but it is just a drop waiting to happen in the real world.

What model twin is this. I really am looking at the Africa twins but I like black not the red and blue colors that everyone seems to like.
Every year since 2016 there has been a black model available with slight variations in wheel, decal and fork colours.
I have a 2019 all black, bronze forks, grey decals and gold wheels.
2018 was the same but with black wheels and bronze decals.
The 1100 models are similar, with ted decals, black forks and red subframe etc.
Some markets only get some colours.
Pretty sure the bike in this video is a 2017.

Only in America. The rest of world mounts on the Left. The inventers expect you to mount on the Left. In the UK you would not get past basic training if mounted the bike on the right
