There's a lore tab about the station (I think it's one of the season's cosmetics that has it). It mentions that all attempts to approach the station beforehand have been cut apart by automated laser fire. Recently, a single Cabal ship was observed getting through, and after that the Witness's allies have been able to board. Because of the laser defenses there wasn't a way to get aboard in the past, so I'm ok assuming that somebody in the Vanguard was aware of it and didn't care to waste resources attempting to do anything with it.

I have a theory that maybe Eramis is staying on the side of the Witness not just for loyalty or other motives, but maybe because it's the Witness who's keeping Eramis from freezing again by her own Stasis power. Maybe it's that fear that if she betrays him, she will end up on ice again.

I was hoping that's what happened during the Splicer season to truly connect the 2 species. Misraaks sacrificing himself to protect Saint and being resurrected as the first Eliksni guardian, and being re-taught his life and his people's history by his daughter who knows it. Hell, Eliksni might be more than capable of being Guardians, but never became one because none of the Ghosts ever actually looked at them for traces of Light. If the Hive can because they were touched by the Traveler before, there's no reason to think Eliksni can't.

Mithras has more of a candidacy for the title than Eramis rather then having the official title, as far as i'm aware the Eliksni are still in competition for who truly deserves that title.
Eramis dying and being reborn as a risen would leave Mithraks in a strange position and mindset, on one hand the heretic to his beliefs just took what he has strived to earn since his change of heart at our hands, on the other, the risen Eramis would be basically like Crow, amnesic, confused, and resented. not to mention the Witness would be DEEPLY insulted that one of their henchmen was blessed by their enemy, a ironic sort of "taking."
also Crow would have a field day meeting someone in similar shoes like him. a dark legacy and its karmic weight placed upon them from (re)birth.

Eramis is gonna be Bungie's new Arbiter, in terms of storytelling. Has faith in one thing, then betrays that faith once all of the pieces come together for her to realize she's been living a lie. Only for her to join us to fight against the Darkness in the end.
A remake of Arbiter's line from Halo 3 of "We trade one villain for another.", but with our Guardian and Eramis back to back surround by the Darkness' forces, only for Crow to arrive with a ship to save us.

    • @pinkskie5536
      @pinkskie5536 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I think something important to note here is that we may actually see a war for her fate going on. Eramis already fits two of the three core tenets for Guardian-hood; Devotion and Bravery. Devotion both to the Eliksni and her family, and Bravery enough to attempt to defy the fate of her people at all circumstances. The Witness may attempt to make a Scorn of her, but we may well see Eramis betraying the Witness as the final key; Sacrifice.
Eramis is one of the only major named Eliksni who has experience wielding Paracausal powers; even if only Stasis, she's connected in a way no other living Eliksni is. It also removes the core issue of her remaining with the Eliksni; her shattered memory of Riis. She's all but admitted that the world Eido wants to build has no room for people broken by Riis' fall like she was. But as a Lightbearer, that memory would hinder her no longer.

I think the station has always been there, as there are likely many abandoned stations in orbit from the collapse (just look at all the orbital debris in our world now lmao). The city doesn't really have time to investigate all of them. Plus this station was controlled by Rasputin until he 'died' right? I think after the Iron Lords the city learned not to mess with Rasputin. Plus this platform is supposedly where many of the warsats are launched from so it makes sense it is in a low earth orbit and nearby at most times.

This mission was very good. I think it had one of the best set pieces I have seen in Destiny 2 yet. However, I really wish there had been dialogue regarding our capture. It would have been awesome if the captain who Eramis sent to capture us had gloated about how we surrendered. Or a sequence where we are being escorted to a cell, passing rows of House Salvation fallen, all watching us as we are marched to a cell (think arbiter in halo 2 being marched to the pedestal). I think there is an issue here though: Why would we surrender? I think the idea was solid on Bungie's behalf, but it doesn't make sense in the context of the mission. We spent the whole time before that absolutely shoving every enemy in that station in a locker, and suddenly we just wave the white flag? While a cool idea, an absence of quality writing really hurt the execution. As for why we were wanted alive, if it was the Witnesses request, then good for us that we absolutely shredded everything breathing on that station. If it was Eramis who gave the command, then we did exactly what Guardians from the inception of destiny do: Kill things, without thought or hesitation. Remember what the Ghost in the Black Garden said "You are a dead thing, made in the shape of the dead. All you will ever do is kill".

At this point, I don't care about Eramis anymore. She's a hypocrite and an idiot who has had quite a few opportunities to change and make peace, but always chooses the option that screws both herself and her people. Her "noble" aspirations are ones I've heard before from countless characters. Oryx, Savathûn, and Xivu Arath wanted what was best for their people, and that's how we got the Hive. Calus wanted what was best for his Daughter and the Cabal, but his Narcissism, greed and gluttony costed him everything. His empire, close friends, his own family. Everything. Eramis claims she wants what's best for the Eliksni, but is too blinded by rage and grief to make peace with us. She's the reason Phylaks, Praksis, and Kridis had to die. She's the one who reopened the Glassway and caused the Vex Invasion on Riis-Reborn. And after all the crimes she has committed, she dared to call us the bad guys for killing Eliksni. Eliksni, who raided settlements, ate children, and murdered without hesitation.
If Eramis truly did want what was best for the Eliksni, she could've joined forces with Mithrax after she broke out of Prison. She could've signaled the Vanguard and signed an armistice or peace treaty between Humanity and House Salvation. She could've accepted Mithrax's mercy, and cut ties with the Witness, so her people could leave Europe behind and finally find peace.

The station is not directly over the Last City, and even a few degrees of offset at that distance results in a truly enormous search area. If the station wasn't loudly broadcasting any kind of signals in every direction then it doesn't even need a stealth system: Unless you already knew where to look simply seeing it would be challenging, even with all our modern astronomy tools.

it's probably just that the station usually orbits earth and it was only when house salvation tried to take it that it began to stay in one spot; thus why we could actually get up there

I just played this mission as I missed out on seraph and this is in the legacy node rn. Hearing how genuinely defeated and kinda depressed Eramis sounded broke me bro 💔😭

No, you are right to think that way about the massive space station right above the city....My guess was they didnt know how to get up there??? idk

I like to think ghoul flew by the seraph station and was like “ayo what is that completely hidden satellite for”

Few things it can’t be in orbit above the city otherwise when we look at the traveler from the station it would be dead center of the earth it’s more likely it’s in orbit above twilight gap especially considering what’s where we launch from and secondly I’m not sure if I’m misremembering but I think the explanation for why the station wasn’t talked about before was it wasn’t active and Clovis Ana or the guardian on our first mission to the gap this season activated the station

So, let it be know I’m not a lore guy, but my theory of how we didn’t know the station was there is the “Cloaking tech” Think about this way, Cayde was able to create a stealth tech that could temporarily hide from one of the most powerful beings we’ve ever encountered (that being Oryx), so imagine what Clovis bray could do with the best-of-the-best golden age tech

for me the way everything was phrased this station has been known about for a while but it was kinda slept on because everyone was unsure about how to access it or it wasnt deemed to be of strategic important untill recently hence why we didnt know about it
