Awe, that would be the saddest thing. Even worse if she had redemption in the end before death. Kind of reminds me of the Iron Lords we had to put down way back in D1 when Siva was a thing.
I’ve always thought of the scorn as the darkness side of the Fallen. Kind of like Calus is to that of the Cabal. I say with the Fanatic no longer in play as a leader, the Witness will turn her unwillingly into it’s new Scorn commander.
I imagine this is the witness’ vision for all of us…to be mindless servants of his will

Eramis is so thoroughly convinced that she's past redemption that she's been attempting suicide by combat since she first spoke to Eido. She took on a Scorn kill squad with just a sword, dueled Misraaks, fought us on the Morning Star instead of heading directly to the control room, she _wants_ to die.
Indeed. It would be fascinating if Eido, Misraaks, or someone else could convince Eramis that living in a world of cooperation and solidarity between humanity, the Cabal, and the Eliksni is not only better for everyone but something Eramis herself is worthy of participating in.
Now that I'm thinking about it, the Spider of all people might be the person best suited to the task: "Eramis, look what a piece of garbage I am and I still have found a place to live in this new world we're all creating together - you won't even have to give up your Darkness powers if you don't want to, and the fridge here at The Ether Tank is on the fritz..."
Yeah that's a major reason why I hope that she's got a redemption arc in the future. A good chunk of Destiny's story is about learning to move forward and be better than what you once were, even if it seems impossible. Eramis might not try because she's suicidal and doesn't believe that she has a chance moving forward, but if people like Namrask can find refuge in House Light, Osiris can learn to heal from his loss of Sagira, and Crow can find peace with who he used to be, then I don't see why Eramis (whose only crime is trying to help her people) can't receive the same levity
I think something that’s very overlooked and not talked about enough is the fact that the Eliksni are incredible engineers. When we first come across them they’re just called scavengers. But with the big strikes they’ve pulled off like the Saber strike or walker tanks, it speaks to the power they have with just scraps. Now imagine an entire arsenal they can create with the cabal and the resources that we are able to obtain and mold to fit our uses. Maybe Eido will see that the culture of her ancestors lives on even now, albeit with wires and scrap rather than looms and yarn. It could be a good start to help Eido get more screen time and development. But that’s just my thoughts. Hope to see it emphasized more in the future

I think the Witness, having dipped out through the Traveler Portal, has checked out on their forces. If anything with them now gone, any remaining Disciples and lieutenants are probably running on auto pilot and existing orders. The Shadow Legion seem to be basically running on Auto pilot. Taking captives because that's what they're supposed to be doing. If anything, Eramis might be getting away with shit because the Witness may not even care anymore. It got what it wanted.
Right, people keep saying stuff like "why not just full scale invade earth?" The answer to that (other than a meta answer about how we have to wait until final shape for that) is probably the fact that whatever is in the portal, "finality" or whatever it is, is the witness' real goal, and now that it has it, sol and its inhabitants are no longer an obstacle and can be safely ignored until the witness wipes us all out with whatever plan its enacting on the other side of the portal
if bungie wants to pull heartstrings, the witness will turn eramis into a scorn but still have hear keep her sense of self. essentially a "i have no mouth and i must scream" type deal

I would really love if eramis became our new ship person. Like she’s the ship stealer, saved misraaks and is showing change… I think she could take Amanda’s spot, and at the same time help unify the eliksni by showing despite taking the darkness path you can always step back to the light. At least in the sense of using the dark for good

The thing about Eramis is that she only blames the Traveller for the destruction of Riis, even though it was not the force that actually destroyed it; the Witness was.
So the fact that she joined up with the Witness because she wanted to avenge her home is so ridiculous its laughable considering its the Witness that physically destroyed her planet while the Traveller just abandoned it.
Logically she would want to destroy both for some reason she’s only blaming the Traveller. Its honestly stupid.
I mean...you also forget that the Witness has some control over her back during the Season of Plunder. If she refused to help him gather the treasures, she either would be left in her Stasis prison or even be dead. So her alignment to the Witness was part by force, part by lingering bitterness of the Traveler the Witness stokes through influences of the Darkness, part ensuring relative safety of the people loyal to her
@@granmastersword That is the thing, The Witness destroyed Riis. Why Eramis would ever think it cares at all about the Eliksni in any capacity is part of the ridiculousness.
Also if she’s only serving the Witness because she’d die if not then she doesn’t really care about her people. Just herself.
@@themonolith253 I doubt she even knew about the Witness's existence prior to being unfrozen. You have to remember, it wasn't even the Black Fleet that directly Riis, it was the Hive. I'm certain that everything happened so fast (a whirlwind of events lol) that there wasn't any time to react or comprehend the situation beyond "holy shit doomsday event." So, she likely had no idea what she was getting into before it was too late.
@@woundedhealer8575 Eris confirmed that the Black Fleet was indeed the ones who destroyed Riis in the Witch Queen campaign;
“The Fallen tell the same story; when the Witness and its Black Fleet came to call, the Traveller moved on to our system.”
Also even if Eramis had only noticed the Hive during the attack on Riis, that should still mean she should be opposed to the faction and whatever force is driving them i.e; The Witness.
But instead she is working alongside the Hive and their master.
@@themonolith253 The fact that she has sided with the Witness to avenge her people by destroying the Traveller (or whatever the Witness palns to do with it) is quite hypocritical and stupid of her but I do think she's mainly doing so because the Traveller had left the Eliksni during the Whirlwind unlike us Humans, who had been gifted with the light after the Collapse to fend off for themselves. We see this during the Season of the Seraph finale where she questions why the Traveller hasn't left us when it did the same for the Eliksni during the Whirlwind. This is what I think is why she is so tunnel-visioned on avenging her home and her people.
Also, it wouldn't really matter for her now that she has started being selfish with her mission since there's another character who's much more fit than her in leading the Eliksni to their better future (which is Eido) and she probably believes it is best she just avenges her people and disappears among the conflicts and enemies of past. In the case this doesn't turn out well, she has also been protecting the Eliksni in the Last City from losing this final hope of salvation (Eido). So, she can just assist in some form to help the Eliksni achieve that better future.
This was a bit of a stretch on how Eramis plans to do with herself but then again she has started questioning the Witness and might have reached the point where she might reflect on her actions and learn that the cause for people's downfall was not just the Traveller but the Witness as well.
TLDR: Eramis might have as well given up on her previous mission of leading the Eliksni to salvation since she believes Eido is much more fit to do so and that she might as well be hinking of herself as a necessary sacrifice to the Eliksni being in a peaceful state. Though she might reflect on her actions knowing that her people are being put at a risk and some have even being turned into the mindless Scorn like Praksis in S19. Her future is very much unknown and I believe her and the Eliksni's story is one I would like to see till the very end. (Makes me want to wish to see a whole saga on the Eliksni, lol)

yeah. Remember what Mithrax said in Season of the Splicer? He wishes humanity, Awokens, Exos, Eliksini, Cabal and even the Hive to hold hand to hand and face the apocalypse together and survive. After all, the plot twist that the witness LIED to the Qrill and had them go on a geneciding killing spree after making a deal with the wormgods and that Rhulk make sure the witness’s plan works. Hope we can convince Savathun and her ghost Immaru and the rest of the Lucid Hive to join with humanity with the allied forces of Eliksini, New Cabal Empire and The Awoken in Season of the Deep

Hi there! Just posting my take on the whole Eramis saving Mithrax scene before watching along.
Remember in Season of the Plunder that Mithrax did not kill Eramis when he definitely could’ve? I’m thinking Eramis did not want her nemesis to die from a plot that was outside her own workings. Just because she works for the same team doesn’t necessarily mean she’s on board with all their plans. In addition, Eramis and Caiatl share some key traits about tradition and the “honest” fight, and as much of a snake Eramis is pictured to be, a pirate’s word is an more of an oath. Break it, and walk the plank with it. Don’t really a scenario where Eramis would delight herself in seeing Mithrax die because some Shadow Legion goomba set their own base to blow up. As a villain, seeing my arch nemesis getting blown away by some sidekick rando would be infuriating. So save yourself the trouble, save Mithrax and deal with him later yourself.

I really see Eramis becoming a guardian, it's a good twist, a good end to her character arc and an f u to the witness who probably wished to turn her into a scorn but instead she was revived by the other side, think about ti, if she sacrifices herself, she completes the devotion, bravery, sacrifice, death arc required to become a guardian. I mean just imagine how cool and even emotional it would be, she gives up her life to save Eido, becomes chosen by the traveler and therefore gets to live through this new Eliksny golden age she thougth she would never be a part of, but now with new eyes, it's so good that I don't think Bungie will miss it.

It would be a good ending for her story, but our enemys becoming guardians is nomore a suprising plot twist. Maybe she will attept to sacifice herself, but Eido and/or Mithrax hinder her. She will have to realise by herself that she has a future with her people and fight with us together to get that future.
What about the witness? I don`t think it`s there anymore to look over everything. It won and can make the final shape. It doesn`t have to control Eramis anymore, i believe.
This does kinda make sense. Because if she is revived, then she wouldn't be the same as before. No memories, no feeling of the past, nothing. It could also be like crow and the fallen. She could combine the Eliksni houses with missraaks and create that future she saw.

It also would be a really great twist for the fact that she is one of the OLDEST fallen in the game. So her forgetting absolutely everything from her life and starting fresh would be a good play on how much she comments on how young fallen don't know anything about Riis and what th Eliksni were before the fallen

It was more than likely part of a ploy to actually release radiolarian fluid to the deep stone crypt for Atraks to use. As this was the last thing she ordered out before she was defeated by us.
I think at that point, she was kind of insane and not in control at that point. It was why she ended up freezing herself in the first place, she lost control of herself and stasis is all about control.
@@urazz7739 Plus when she did get frozen she was very clearly panicking as we were just about to kill her, hardly a mental state to force your will upon reality.
Perhaps this is called Season of Defiance not just because of our actions but also Eramis and we'll see her show up in some significant moment end of season to assist us once more? This will then be either her final turning point to our side and or at worse some sort of sacrifice.
I can see something like Eramis coming to serve House of Light and the characters around being skeptical about it until Zabala fully approves with the idea of having as many allies as possible; the traveler is not helping, and friends keep dying left and right. Eramis also has a similar story of losing family as Zabala. I can see both sharing their lose in one way or another and feel better knowing that they are not the only ones that lost wife and kids.
I will always believe the best outcome with her is to have the Witness find he family's ship, hold them hostage to keep her in line, we save them and then I'm fine with either Eramis sacrificing herself or coming over to our side
If she offs herself before she has a chance to express regret for her crimes, I'm going to be extremely annoyed.

Erimas is the Fallen, if she dies all fallen stories come to a end. There is no other leader that could replace her to keep the Fallen antagonists towards the species. I think she will survive the final shape and be the leader of a reform Fallen faction that is the equivalent of bandits in the destiny universe

I like this cuz it ties into the name of the current season being season of Defiance. Eramis is defying the Witness since the Witness is could not deliver on his promise to her of the destruction of the traveler

Eramis sneakily became one of the most compelling characters in the game and I'm here for it. I think she will probably wind up fully turning against the Witness and make a sacrifice to save Eido. If she came back as a Scorn boss after that I think it could fuel a really good revengening story line.
I was asking myself, why take captives this season rather than outright kill. My thought is that they were to used as sacrifice in a ritual, perhaps so the Taken King can rise again (since next season is season of the Deep). Since Eramis actively helped prisoners and VIPs escape House Salvation will be used instead to fuel this endeavor.
You should do a video on the Inspiral lore books and the Ecumene precursors who used the darkness.

I noticed something when you mentioned Eramis's pain, the Witness. They speak of pain, pain that seems to motivate them.
When Calus questions them, they react emotionally- for the first time we've seen.
But what is that pain? What can drive an entity to such extremes? Maybe something similar to the tragedy of the Eliskni?
Good point. Rulk, calus and Eramis do all come form a background of traumatic events and it is clear to me that the Witness used that emotion to corrupt them and steer them where it wanted. And to be fair this is logical considering stasis is heavily impacted by emotions and that is the power it gifted to us. Likely in a similar attempt to have it amplify out best and worst traits and have us fail to control it.
He was used to just mindlessly winner everything from the gardener and I think with the creation of the universe there came complexity, but he was used to everything being simple and onesided. The Universe makes him question his purpose to kill everything with more complex siturations he has to deal with and that creats emotions. He takes about how cruel the universe is, because it makes victoms and perpetrator. He hates to be judged for what he does. So instead of rethinking his purpose and exapting how the universe is, he wants to go back, when everything was just mathe without life, emotions and pain. That`s my theory.
Also, the Traveler didn’t run away like it did in Riis…. I think that played a factor with Eramis as well.

On the bit about Eido knowing about the history of the Eliksni but not feeling the trauma: we've heard this theme before. Ikora ruminates in it in the Hidden Dossier, the Witch Queen CE lore. She refers to it as the explanatory gap, and mentions that the humans of the Golden Age had solved that problem--it was a matter of finding sufficiently rich forms of communication.
I think about that lore a lot. It's really really good.

I think seeing the traveller not abandon earth was a turning point for her. Seeing her friend turned into a scorn kept her in line for a bit, but i think that this was a catalyst for her redemption.
I have a personal theory that Eido is Eramis' daughter. Mithrax found Eido as a hatchling on the house of Devil's Skiff, a house Eramis was a part of for a time. When Mara was talking to Eramis during the season of the seraph, Mara alters between herself and Eramis when she says "Not just a Queen. Not just a Kell. A sister...a mother". That would imply Eramis had a child at one point. And maybe it is Eido, or maybe Eramis sees her as what her child could have been.

I've watched this video like three times before and I only just caught the Calus Egregore joke and I almost choked oh my god
I think the most interesting thing about Eramis right now is when she says reguarding Eido: "I know that she is the future of our people, but there can be no future until we are allowed to decide our own fate." Or something along those lines, this is very clearly anti-witness, but it's also anti-vanguard. She probably wants the Elixni to be free of both, and it's kind of fair enough, the house of light is allowed to thrive in the last city, but only so long as they conform to pur rules and our idea of what's right, under unspoken penalty of death, that isn't freedom anymore that serving the Witness is. That's why I don't think Eramis will switch to our side, or if she does, it'll only be temporarily to stop the Witness, she'd be fine if the Elixni were simply our allies, but not as our suplicants. It'd be cool of Eramis made her own throne world for the Elixni to live safely in, though that's not likely.
This video gave me an idea of a season that sounds like an interesting idea. The season of the Kell, where we try to sway eramis to our side by trying to track down her lover and, find out what happened to her.
Eramis’ future? Probably involves getting killed off at the end of a 5 minute mission 😂

We're getting the same back and forth with Eramis for the second time while Variks hasn't gotten anything major at all since inspiring Eido to become a Scribe.
3 major possibilities r:
1) we kill her sometime further down the line
2) we somehow turn her awat from the darkness
3) she stays as she is 2 appear from time to time to either help or hinder us (this is the one i find most likely)
i think is possible if the witness knows, it does not view her treachery as a risk to it's plans, depending on where they went and how close to their end goal that brought them at the end of the lightfall campaign

A good friend of mine, who is also in the same class as me really really and I mean, really wants to kill Eramis because of three reasons he sees things in black-and-white generally, and has a policy to kill anything that shoots Adam, and is generally annoyed and or hates the character
Me on the other hand, I am the opposite, but I am convinced the character will eventually sacrifice her self in some fashion.
My biggest suspicion is that Mithrax will continue to grow and inevitably become a light bearer, and possibly become the prophesies kell of kells and unite his people.
It is also something that I theorized that the Fanatic will join the witch Queen Savathun and form a third faction within Sol one there is made out of convenience against common enemies.
I'm pretty much taking the Tzeentch approach with everything going on. Anything that happens is what The Witness has planned.

Loved how Eramis told Mithrax off. She knows things.
I think given Eramis' stubborness and pride she's not going to join or align with house Light, or any humanity / awoken (Judgement if Variks gets off his ass and starts recruiting) aligned houses. But also with her character arc and her growing disloyalty to the witness she's more likely to sacrifice herself for the human/awoken allied Eliksni, especially if Eido is concerned, she sees no future for her people in herself or Misraaks, nor the Witness or Traveller, so her only motivation left is to do whatever she can to save the Eliksni, and that is most likely to be endangering her life over and over again to support Eido and other Eliksni with a high chance of surviving the current war.
That being said I doubt house Salvation will die out with Eramis, even with the threat of being scorned given all that Misraaks, the Vanguard, and the Traveller have done to their people, there will always be those who are willing to put their life down in the name of vengeance, and in a meta sense, bungue isn't going to just throw away one of the few enemy races we have, it's a lot easier to have a few holdouts of an old ideology than to model, write lore for, animate, and introduce a new race.

I feel like some things need to be clarified in regards to what happened at Riis, though some cannot be confirmed entirely.
The first is that the Traveler actually intended to leave Riis sooner. A grimore card for Riis, from the perspective of the Traveler confirms this:
“You do not mean to stay, but longing and kinship forestalls your departure time and time again.”
The Traveler knew that its presence would draw the Black Fleet but it found such joy in the Eliksni that it could not bring itself to leave. Not until the Black Fleet was already there.
Second, why did it abandon the Eliksni? One theory comes from Ikora while speaking to Misraaks. She posits that the Traveler left the Eliksni out of mercy. That may sound absurd at first but think about where humanity stands right now.
We are fighting the most powerful entity, The Witness, and its army. We are on the verge of extinction. It is all or nothing. We either win or we die. The Winnower from Unveiling was very clear about this. And it’s possible that the Traveler knew that it could not guarantee our victory and that forcing us to help it would lead to countless suffering from vast defeats and destruction at the hands of our enemies. We’ve lost so much fighting this fight and we could lose so much more.
For better or worse, the Eliksni who survived the Whirlwind have a future free from the Traveler and the forces chasing it. They’re out of the game and can forge a new path. It will not be easy but they have that choice.
We, humanity, do not. The Winnower will not ignore us. We either join it or perish.
I could see crow tracking her down, and them reprising his own death with a choice to spare her or not. My bet is that he would choose different than the guardian or petra
My question is why did the witness entice Erasmis to shoot the traveler is they need it for whatever portal they opened in light fall?
