Holy crap I didn’t know this existed. I was wondering why I remember crazy taxi cabinets looking different when I googled them this is the machine I remember!!
I remember playing crazy taxi 1 with my cousin on Dream Cast while tripping on shrooms. I was doing a burn out infront of church and it felt profound about it that that was 20 yrs ago I still think about it from time to time ........
@@campxbox Indeed, it introduced me to the Offspring, and eventually led me to listen to the song: Gone Away. Which really hits hard now since I've lost 3 dear friends in the past 5 months to suicide.
I was introduced to Crazy Taxi because I used to play B.D. Joe loads on Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing so I got the PS3 port of Crazy Taxi which looking back at it, wasn't as great of a port but I remember loving the game that I played the PSP version and learnt that Crazy Taxi 2 exist and enjoyed picking up more than 1 customers. Wish both second and third game gets rerelease as even if I prefer CT1, their still fun to play
I sometimes keep forgetting there was a Crazy Taxi 3 at one time. Both Crazy Taxi are so synonymous with the Dreamcast it’s legacy cannot be underestimated.
Crazy Taxi 2 was such a show piece on Dreamcast I was blown away away when unlocked all the original character, I like how they updated all the maps player models and car models, environments and tweaked the gameplay in each game you really see a significant improvement in a three games
This is a game I still go back to. The only issue with this game for me was the frame rate in Glitter Oasis, and the music. This has Offspring and Bad Religion, but they can’t be mixed. I want to hear All I want from offspring transition to Them and Us from Bad religion
lmao I was looking at my updated list since I'm ahead on reviews. I forgot that the one in this video might be a little old. Hitman Contracts is good as well. I need to talk about the whole series.
I can only point 2 faults for this game: - The boost effect around the wheels is too cartoony and doesn't fit with the detailed sparks when the car hits a wall. A more subtle graphical effect would have been better. - The fact the map "Around Apple" -- a true gem of a map -- wasn't included is very irritating
Simpson's Road Rage was the best Crazy Taxi game. I hope SEGA take a hard look at the varied paths and interesting designs dotted around the first level (and SRR) and lean hard into that. The NYC level was interesting when I was bored of the original, but just lacked the charm and distinctly separate areas that made the first rewarding to navigate.
We actually got an English Version of Shenmue II for Dreamcast in Europe. That's why our version of Shenmue II for Xbox does not have the "only on Xbox" logo here
Fun game, I also like Midtown Madness 3. Interestingly Crazy Taxi 1 came out in 1999 same year as Midtown Madness 1 and I think their sequels came out around a year within one another.
I've always wanted to play Crazy Taxi 3. It's one of those games that never received a re-release, was never backwards compatible and I don't own an original Xbox. One day maybe. 🤷♂
I have a copy in my collection, but i don't think I've actually played it. Ever. I loved the original in the arcade and on the Dreamcast, though. The Offspring's "All I Want" is forever burned into my head (mostly) because of this game. Yea yea yea Yea!
i always wished they would have made this game backwards compatible on modern xbox consoles. it's incredibly frustrating how sega seems to only ever want to occasionally release the first entry in their various arcade series, and then NOTHING else ever. i love all 3 crazy taxi games - why can i only play the first one on modern consoles? oh well. now that we finally got daytona usa 2 (sort of) maybe we'll eventually get a full rerelease of the crazy taxi trilogy. it'd be nice.
@1:40 Thanks for reminding me that I'm still pissed at SEGA for selling Shenmue II to Microsoft. On that note; I wonder if Peter Moore is still able to travel without having to show his passport to the TSA.
@@BestGirlsBiggestFan Actually, I immigrated to the US in the mid 90s. But I did also get to play said European version of Shenmue II thanks to the wonderful world of software piracy. Tbh I mostly like to harp on Sega so I can keep brining up the Peter Moore airplane story because I still find it hilarious.
I feel conflicted about crazy taxi 3 because the map thats unique to 3 is plagued with slowdown but the addition of the first two games content plus this version of crazy box/crazy x is really good. IMO this would be like a 10/10 if the vegas map didn't suck. It's like a 7/10 just because of the legacy content and crazy x.
It’s true that this game came out on Xbox console only, did it intend to be released on Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, or even GameCube, but ended up getting cancelled? Sometimes that happens.
The thing that really kills the mood for me playing this game is the motion blur. God that effect was so unnecessary But overall than that, it's a great experience. (Just don't try to speedrun Crazy X, you will be frustrated)
Oh it most certainly isnt. The night maps produce horrible, almost downright unplayable slowdown. Sega was the king of smoothness, and this game spits on the Crazy Taxi franchise with slowdown like that.
X-box triggers were far clunkier than Dreamcast. And that hurts the gameplay. But trying to match impressionistic Vegas locations to the real thing is fun.
The city portion of it is fun and visually interesting, but the desert canyon area is bland... and it can kill your run, thanks to its maze of long roads, and its relative lack of customers and destinations. I found myself learning to predict which customers would ask me to stay in the city, and which ones would send me out into the desert to fail!
There is a bar I went to recently that still has a Crazy Taxi: High Roller arcade cabinet! Still a great game!

OG Crazy Taxi cannot be beaten though. It shaped my music taste.
WALLA WALLA
The Offspring kicking in at the start of every game is so amazing!
@@campxbox Indeed, it introduced me to the Offspring, and eventually led me to listen to the song: Gone Away. Which really hits hard now since I've lost 3 dear friends in the past 5 months to suicide.
YA YA YA YA YAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sadly though it only had like 3 or 4 songs in total lol, but nonetheless a great game!

Yeah totally agree. Even if the first is the best, it would still be nice to see it all preserved.
I sometimes keep forgetting there was a Crazy Taxi 3 at one time. Both Crazy Taxi are so synonymous with the Dreamcast it’s legacy cannot be underestimated.
My favorite channel on TH-cam! Yet another banger, this one is going on my hunt list asap. As always thank you for the video!
Thank you for watching! I appreciate the kind words.
I totally forgot this game existed, very cool video
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
hey thanks for this review!

I love your videos!! Great job talking about CT3
Thanks so much!
This is why I'm a subscriber to this channel.

Nice review. Had this back in the day (might still have it) but only remember enjoying the updated San Fran map & the crazy box mini games
Feel the same this game runs poorly, it was the worst one until they farted out the abominable psp game

Nice review and I love number 25
Thanks glad you enjoyed. Yeah Links 2004 was a surprisingly great golf game.
@@campxbox wait?? Did i see that wrong lol I was referencing Hitman Contracts

@@campxbox oh ok 😂 makes sense now! And yes I'm a huge Hitman fan all 3 on Xbox are fantastic!!
Another banger video as always

RR is a great game, I own it for the PS2. In my opinion, it's better than the Crazy Taxi games even though it totally ripped off those games!
Yeah I totally get that. Road Rage was my intro do the Crazy Taxi formula and I still absolutely love it to this day.
11:40 shenmue II also came out on the dreamcast, but only with the japanese dub.
In North America we never got the DC version of Shenumue 2 unfortunately.
We actually got an English Version of Shenmue II for Dreamcast in Europe. That's why our version of Shenmue II for Xbox does not have the "only on Xbox" logo here
Nothing will beat the OG Crazy Taxi so i have yet to play this one!
Fun game, I also like Midtown Madness 3. Interestingly Crazy Taxi 1 came out in 1999 same year as Midtown Madness 1 and I think their sequels came out around a year within one another.
That is interesting. I have great memories with Midtown Madness.

Theres a pc version thats pretty good

IGN gave this game a 6.3/10. Critics back then could be so obtuse sometimes
IGN is trash and GameSpot too sometimes. IGN’s Sonic Unleashed review still burns me up. 😂
i literally just found out they made a 3 just now lmao

Judging by your profile pic I assume you're also European.
We have Shenmue 2 on Dreamcast too dude, it's only Xbox exclusive in the US.

I only got to play Crazy Taxi on arcades. I personally like The Simpsons Road Rage
Road Rage was my first introduction to that style of game. Absolutely love it.
I was today years old when i found out there was a third
This game should have been on Dreamcast
PS2 took that poor boy out back
It’s true that this game came out on Xbox console only, did it intend to be released on Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, or even GameCube, but ended up getting cancelled? Sometimes that happens.
Wow never played this game, must be a rare game.
It's an Xbox exclusive so yeah a lot of people never got the chance to play it.
The thing that really kills the mood for me playing this game is the motion blur. God that effect was so unnecessary
But overall than that, it's a great experience.

Is Crazy Taxi 3 🚕 available for download on the Xbox One Console?
Unfortunately not
Totally missed this game as a kid. Wow it looks like the best version. So many options
Oh it most certainly isnt. The night maps produce horrible, almost downright unplayable slowdown. Sega was the king of smoothness, and this game spits on the Crazy Taxi franchise with slowdown like that.
I have all three crazy taxi games still. Loved ct3, the big downside was the framerate. It slowed down big time
Is it possible to play the original xbox copy on xsx?
Unfortunately no.
Sega already reviving the franchise giving it a remake of Dreamcast classic.
If a new Crazy Taxi does come out I hope it’s for the Switch ‘cause I don’t want to buy a PS5 for it and I hope there will be a physical copy of it. 😄
How about a review of Smashing Drive?
I'll add it to the recommendation list!
The arcade version I think ditched the 3 in it's title but I could be wrong too
I looked into it and yeah it looks like the arcade version has no 3 in the title.
You get a like and subscribe just for getting the aspect ratio correct
Thanks for the sub!
Such a shame so many xbox games never got updated to work on 360 and beyond :(
The KFC is what makes this game stands out from the rest, you feel like you're in a real city not a fictional one.
Yeah I think all of the product placement adds a fun to touch to it.
X-box triggers were far clunkier than Dreamcast. And that hurts the gameplay. But trying to match impressionistic Vegas locations to the real thing is fun.
Glitter Oasis is not a great map?
I thought it would be more fun to drive through Las Vegas compared to New York
Yeah that's what I though, but for whatever reason its a lot of canyons and the framerate is rough on the strip. It could have been so good.
It was so disappointing.
dude you need to learn how to do the crazy dash, then redo the review. its basically a different game when you do the boost
