@@tonyrobinson362 Ya it was the later class 66s that had the five doors, and that was down to the emissions regulations getting tighter, they put a smaller fuel tank on the loco (to make it lighter) and also "I think" something to do with cooling system, meaning you couldn't walk through the loco from one end to the other, so hence the fith door on the side to get in. Hope this helps. 👍
Hi, very good honest review of the Accurascale revised class 66, as I’ve stated before by engineering out the EM2 speaker for the lesser EM1 they have taken the soul away because the Hatton’s class 66 with the EM2 and the Legomanbiffo sound file make it one of the best sounding locomotives all round in my opinion, the axle box issues were down to poor manufacturing and processes with poor quality control, the easy access to the decoder is a must these days and the additional cab detailing is a great touch, if the chassis could take the EM2 speaker I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a couple, other modellers may disagree with my opinion but when you have an original Hatton’s model you know which sounds better all round, the JJA wagons are the mutts nuts, thanks god Bachmann produced them along with the Windhoff MPV and the larger Plasser Tamper vehicle, they all came out in 2010 and lit up modern image layout throughout the country, once Bachmann have sold their latest limited run of JJA auto ballasters they won’t be made by them again so hopefully another manufacturer will take them on, by the way those MRA wagons are superb, gutted Dapol don’t produce them anymore, the prices of them are criminal, thanks for sharing
@@StormmyStormmy Thankyou so much, I didn't want to do an as detailed video as before as its been done, but I love doing a new livery unboxing.....more coming soon 😉. You know what, the more I hear both together the more I think your right, not night and day, but enough to notice. 👍 Ya 100% on the easy access, it's so nice not having to faff around with screws and knocking off nice detailed parts......how far we have come. Lol. Ya its incredible just having some beautiful detailed modern engineering wagons and how much it can change the layouts appearance, mind you this surely opens the door for one of the great new manufacturers (Accurascale and/or Cavalex) or anyone else to make them..............at what price though, who knows......watch this space......I am surprised that no one has done them already....🤷♂️ thank you for the comment and glad you enjoyed it. 👍👍
@@mrmartinb1615 The price of those type of wagons can not always be justified because the price of them can fall a great deal once they get placed in the sales by retailers. Dapol had good intentions when they produced the MRA wagon sets but there were issues with couplings and other bits and pieces according to the RMweb forum website, back in 2011 Dapol were selling them for £90 for a set of 5 to get rid of them, then when modellers asked them in 2020 if they plans to do a second run they said the set would cost over £200 and that would put modellers off, hopefully another manufacturer like Accurascale might produce some in the future at a better price, now we have a new government maybe the cost of manufacturing will be looked at so companies can get manufacturing going back on in this country. There are so many railway vehicles out there that could be produced but they seem to be ignored especially by British model railway manufacturers except Bachmann who have produced the Windhoff MPV and the Plasser Tamper (H0) scaled vehicle and the superb JJA wagons and not for getting their 45 ton Ransom breakdown crane, Hornby are still producing the same breakdown crane for over 45 years! then they got theirs hands on Lima and used the Lima crane in their Railroad range when it’s just as good as the 75 ton crane in their main range, mind you Bachmann cranes have almost halved in price with a few exceptions mainly the red livery model which has kept its £240 price tag. EFE Rail have a crane coming out in a few months which is a great edition to have even though it’s not a functional model, a moving jib would have been a nice touch for the money but I guess that would increase the cost at the customer end, in reality the 12ton crane is self propelled and it has lighting, maybe Accurascale or a similar manufacturer will produce a working crane in the future but I won’t hold my breath.
@@StormmyStormmy Wow 2011, wheres the time gone, lol. Ya your right on the intentions, it was an incredible leap forward in wagon details. (It's still in the pipe line to do an more indepth video on my MRA wagons) For static purposes you can use little 'wedge pieces' that tilt the top part of the wagon and you can open the side door to replicate ballast coming out the side of the wagon. (Amazing) To be fair £200 for five wagons is a bargin, as it means they are only £40 per wagon. I think, if I remember rightly the original price was £150 per pack (still a bargin when you look back at it, I just think people weren't ready for something that and at £150. What else was that price in the wagon range back then. 🤷♂️. I'm hoping with a little fettling they with roll a little freeier, but wait and see and I'm sure I bought 2 packs at Ally Pally for £125 ish each and then the next time 2 more packs for £75 as they had the small defects. What are they worth now? Ya the 'odd' couplings are a little temperamental, but guessing at the time was the best solution. Ya it is amazing what Bachmann are producing at the moment, even some of the older models as well, I absolutely love the 45 ton steam crane, looks incredible and I would pay the money. I'm guessing the Hornby version is still selling? Or they just made thousands really cheap. Lol. I really love some of EFE Rail products, and I love the class 58 (now who is going to do a all singing and all dancing class 58) cos I have 40 HAA wagons 🤣. Ya it really is a waiting game in seeing who is going to do what and when. Lol. Most definitely have to wait and see with the government thing only time will tell. 👍👍👍.
I never realised some have 5 doors and some have 4 I have 5 on my Samaritans version i thought they were all the same, Nice vlog.
