I like that Solid JJ is branching out to more obscure superheroes, like Batman. It’s a nice change of pace from all the mainstream Gleek sketches you see everywhere.

It was actually arguably after he found out they had been magically brainwashing criminals to forcibly reform them, and among many things had to wonder if his relationship with the reformed Catwoman was based on a lie. This was a horrible retcon by editors having a pattern of wanting evil and criminality to be genetic.

I always did like the shots used from the shows compared to the hand drawn shots replicating their style, as much as i love both, the uncanny-ness of the shots from the og shows spouting thiss self awareness makes me laugh a lot more

I'm just glad he doesn't completely for-go using the original shots. He uses whatever resources he sees fit. He doesn't just lean into one specific art style or genre.
It's creative and interesting seeing entirely new frames from scratch, but there is something to be said when it's the original frames, or even incredibly convincing superimposed frames. Those get me the most. When you can't even tell the difference. He's done that like, once or twice.
I also feel the ones created for the channel need to be "lower quality" because they always look too clean compared to the original classic ones. I don't know the proper terms for this kind of stuff but I think they need to be more "granulated", drawn with vivid colors but make them artificially dull in post, and slightly blurred.

I was binge reading the Super Friends comics a while back and it was surprisingly engaging...even with Wendy, Marvin and Wonder Dog there. There were a lot of unique scenarios, story arc callbacks and interesting means of defeating villains that usually required a surprising amount of understanding of science, geography, and social studies in certain cases.
Also, they explicitly talk about the issues of murder and potential genocide at a few points. That was unexpected.
Okay, I have to ask this: did you happen to encounter a story in which there was a sort of half-goat-half-cinderblock alien that would teleport around and go "feep week"? I think the Wonder Twins had to figure out how to stop it. This is a very dim memory, so I could be off on a lot of details.

@@guyrex213i Don’t know where he reads them, but I can tell you I personally just read them on the unlimited app. However you can also Google and find the old dc comics for free quite easily ( I’ve done that method too) you just need to know the issue number and name and type in read online free or something like that.

Not being a comic book reader, it's always fun to try and guess which of these were actually part of the League in some fringe comic series from decades ago and which JJ added for fun.
Some of these were cartoon originals, Black Vulcan is just legally distinct Black Lightning despite the fact DC created him
Apache Chief, El Dorado, Gleek and the Wonder Twins are the only ones not part of the Justice League, Black Vulcan is basically another hero as has been said.
All the Green Lanterns have been part of the JL and more, seeing how Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz aren't here...Jessica being the most noteworthy one since she at least appears in the League Of Super Pets movie and various seasons of DC Super Hero Girls...but a lot of people seem to ignore that show.
There are other Earth Green Lanterns, but one is associated with the Justice Society and the other with Young Justice...
What about Gleek?
@@ricardocunha7982 Marvin, Wendy, and Wonder Dog were also created for the cartoon (and if you're surprised, I have a bridge to sell you), though they have popped up in the comics. Detective Chimp has never been on the "main" Justice League's core lineup, though he has been a member of Justice League Dark (a spinoff group focused on magic) and is considered a reservist. There are very few living heroic characters in DC who couldn't be considered Justice League reservists, mind, since the team is influential and well-connected enough that anyone whom they ask to show up generally will.
Detective Chimp is canonically a better detective than Batman. Even Batman admits it

Also they picked Batman, who has no powers, before Samurai, who is both a trained swordsman and basically an airbender. Take the win, Bats!

The funny thing about Detective Chimp is that he’s the actual canonical greatest detective in the DC universe. He once barged into the Batcave, took one look at a crime Batman was analyzing on the Batcomputer, and said: “Yeah, it was that guy. So, can you come help with my thing now?”

The crime was in Gotham so he wanted Bruce's help to track the person in question down since that's his home turf and he needed the assistance from someone who knew Gotham. When Bruce refused and said he was doing another case, Bobo instantly solved it so Bruce would come help him out. Detective Chimp already knew who the criminal was, he just needed to track them. Also, later it was revealed that the dog was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the mall Santa was the actual Santa. Comics are fun like that.

All of the Green Lanterns shown are from Earth. Also all of the Green Lanterns shown are the modern Oa, Guardian based Green Lanterns who belong the the Green Lantern Corps. None of the magic based Green Lanterns that have a weakness to wood instead of the color yellow appeared.

Gleek is an alien monkey. Slightly more intelligent than an Earth monkey. Has no powers other than understands English but can't speak. Probably understands other languages. The pet of Jan and Jace, twin aliens that can shape change but only when they touch each other. The three of them were sidekicks for the Justice League in one iteration of the Super Friend's cartoon.
The funny thing is that the only reason Wendy is on the team is because she's the daughter of one of Batman's mentors. 😂

I find it hilarious that in the cartoons (& maybe the comics?) batman practically made the justice league. Superman didn't want to join because he felt he should do everything himself
The more post/retroactive you get with the comics (and the more popular batman becomes) they like to increase his tired relevance more and more. Wonder Woman is also technically rich and Superman has so much sci-fi technology in the Fortress of Solitude, as well as keen Scientific ability-at least pre crisis, that he can whip up whatever tech they might need. Their original base (trophy room and monitor-lab inside of a mountain) was made by GL actually, before his ring got nerfed and permanent changes to matter stopped being something he did regularly. Really they didn't need a rich guy on the team.

I love the fact that Batman pays everyone's wages both in and out of the justice league.
I remember in the Justice League 00s show, Batman was hesitant to be an official member of the justice league because he wanted to be a loner. But it was honestly probably just because he knew he'd be paying for EVERYTHING. Everyone else on the league is broke as hell.
