I love how if you die in Zandalar you get Bwonsamdi taunting you instead of a spirit healer

The guy who voice act Bwonsamdi... You are incredible. That voice just oozes charm all the way.
I love how Bwonsandi greets us when we die in game, makes me chuckle with his greetings in my spirit form. I once got attacked by a pack of elites and tried feign death but elites weren't that stupid n carried on killing me. once i got to spirit form after death he greeted me with "trying to feign death? Not good to try and deceive me...." like wtf lol
Let's not kill Bwonsamdi in a raid or something, he's such a cool character.
Also it would be nice to have some loa left by the end of the expansion.

Are there still many players? i played it in alpha and it is a good game for people who are noob in more complex moba also good in improving teamplay for other moba players but the game itself is so basic that it should have been better if a mobile version is released. I no longer play it because it's too boring after 20hrs+

@@Paulo-zr5zo diverse heroes with complex abilities and builds and different maps with different objectives I think beat a single map of who can lane better.

Bwonsamdi isn't evil in any way whatsoever, his entire existence is based on the concept of Death and everything that leads to it, he isn't evil, he's simply fulfilling his purpose.
On the Horde side, this guy is your spirit healer and talks smack every time you die :(

It's more about who is still left there to fight, which is nothing in comparison to the force that entered Nazmir.

no, but he's still the loa of death. He'll probably want sacrifices, or like he said himself let 'crops wither and die'. He only has his own goals, making him very dangerous to Zandalar
He's made deal with both heros and villains and manipulated events while keeping both parties ignorant to get them to fight one another so he could take the losers souls.
What's very important for Bwonsamdi is that the circle of life continues so he gets a steady flow of souls. That's not weird at all, not even necessarily an evil thing. He needs souls to keep powerful.
that's basically what I meant though. He doesn't really care about the kingdom like Rezan did, he only cares about his own 'job' I guess you could call it.
Bwomsandi animation in this cutscene gives me old Disney movies vibes.

I still don't understand why she didn't ask him about that deal he screamed to Bwonsamdi. And it's not a big deal to understand that making deals with loa is always expensive. Probably we'll know it later after some raids and updates

Agreed. Bwonsamdi can bring people back from the dead, like the Valkyr. I'm sure she will be pleased to meet him, and either make a deal with him, or try to enslave him somehow.

In the book, "Shadows Rising" Talanji was going to break the bond with Bwonsandi but ended up keeping him as the loa of Kings. It's good reading and you should read it.

@@elessal well well, look what theyve done to him in shadowlands...they truly ruined the entire lore and (almost) every major lore character. Arthas, ner'zhul, kel'thuzad, sargeras, kil'jaeden, etc etc. All turned into "pAwNs oF tHe jAiLeR" and killed or itherwide ruined

Technically Bwonsamdi beIN the patron of the darkspear zalazane takin over the islands hurt old Bwonsamdi’s power no offering no rituals and stealing the souls of the darkspear dead vol'jin had alot to offer and because of the pantheon of the tribal loa senjin voljins father was already one of the death loa's favorites day troll had alot going for him to begin with we're as with the zandalari bwonsamdi was an important loa but not a patron of the empire

Depends on who is his boss. He made a fair deal and respected it. For now he is not a baddie.
If he is connected to Helya (who is connected to the Old Gods)... Or if there is something between him who needs more souls and Sylvanas who needs more.... corpses...
How is he the baddie? He's the loa of death, death is just a natural part of life. Nothing about him screams baddie. He made a deal, and stuck to it.

Bwonsamdi. Easily the best character so far, just by how fun he is to watch in animation.

While true, Ner'zhul was a legit evil character. Bwonsamdi has thus far done nothing evil. He's very much a neutral character.

Amazing scene with many echoes to past events. Bwonsamdi is an amazing example of how to create a memorable character. Will he become a good prime loa? Will he become a raid boss? Something in between? Thanks Blizzard for making us care about such questions.
Bwonsamdi is one of the most intriguing and fascinating characters WoW has had in a long time. So looking forward to seeing more of him :)

really one of the best things to come out of BfA is this character. hope he sticks around for a long time.
So I'm detecting the following influences: Baron Samedi (myth), Doctor Facilier (Disney), Hades (Disney version), and some Ryuk (Death Note). And a bit of Black Panther (Marvel) feel too with the rituals and the family dynamic.
No, that's not a black panther influence, Rituals, blood magic and family bonds are recurremt themes of Voodoo culture, the one that inspired the creation of the warcraftian trolls

That goes without saying, that is the basis for trolls in general, but the Zandalari are given a distinct african flair. But this debate is silly as carribbean culture has african roots so it becomes a chicken or the egg thing. Regardless my point about these elements was not their origins but their usage as plot devices. They lead to scenes that appear directly inspired by the film. Blizzard is never very subtle about borrowing stuff and you straight up have lines like "Zandalar Forever".

Pretty much. Arthas and Rastakhan are both being forced to make greater and *greater* sacrifices in the same of stopping a monstrous evil, but begin losing their morals as the situation becomes more desperate.
Another symbol of Death has paired itself with the Horde. Taliesin & Evitel's theory on a Death faction is really starting to look more and more like a reality.
Voice acting is absolutely unique for this character. Almost everyone else just feels bland and boring compared to him.
I wish every troll had his level of voice acting. It'd be glorious
@@blankymcblankface no it wasn't. If every troll will has such a charisma level u won't feel the difference between simple folks and leaders, usual moments and heroic ones. Like in real life u know - not everyone around ya use a max level of their personality and voice
Roman Abanin But this isn't real life mate, it's a video game where everyone's a hero potentially, or at least everyone who has unique dialogue written for them has that potential.
why not give each of these legendary heroes (like mighty king Rastakhan or his equally heroic daughter) a memorable voice like Bwomsandi, instead of the shambles we ended up with?

Back in WotLK's cinematics they never could have *imagined* making characters as lively and animated as Bwonsamdi. We were lucky if their mouths moved.

Other then Rezan, the Loa of Kings, I always found it interesting that the one Loa Rastakhan went to make a bargain was the Loa of Death, meaning that, deep down, Rastakhan knew the only other Loa that was just as strong as the fallen Rezan, was Bwonsamdi. Please, Blizzard, you have given me this wonderful troll that greets you when you die, don't make him into the type of villain that we have to fight and kill. You jerks took Vol'jin from me and gave us freaking Miss Emotional Baggage Banshee Queen, don't take my Ryuk lookalike!

Bwonsami is about the only reason I stuck on playing BFA, the guy is just the way I think any god of death would be. Someone who's not edgy or even thinking he's the best. Well other then being the best at making you god dang angry every time you die and he's right there taunting you. I love him for that. And hate him as well for it too.
I loved this, I dont play WoW, would love to, but this fascinates me lore wise.
Why not just play it? It's the greatest game of all time.
I would say play the game but I know it's not for everyone. You should look into the comics and the hard novels though. You might love it more

Bwonsamdi was Vol'jin's loa, so he probably was the one who suggested Sylvanas be the next warchief.
He uses undead minions himself. It's not implausible that he would align himself with Sylvanas because they can both serve each other's goals. Even the undead die eventually and I'm sure Bwonsamdi would be happy to claim their souls then.
Bwonsamdi and the Zandalari are by far the best thing from BFA.
Bwonsamdi...obviously a reference to Baron Samedi, of Haitian lore.

its almost as if it says [spoiler] in the title
people think there is nothing to play in horde side after Sylvanas burned the tree. Well..well..Blizzard then gives the Horde Bwonsamdi. The NPC with real superstar aura. That is what made playing as horde always interesting. No matter how bad they are..they always have something interesting..not some magic flying ship without the dutchman.....

A lot of people don't realize that Bwonsamdi was Vol'Jin's Loa, so it might have been Bwonsamdi's idea to make Sylvanas Warchief.

But bwonsamdi hates undead plus what benefit does it give him? He can't collect and watch over the souls of those who don't worship him and doubt syl would start opening up a church for him lol.
Maybe he wants to make a deal with Sylvanas. Even undead die eventually and I'm sure they'd be up for worshipping a death god in the meantime.

bwonsamdi has been in World of Warcraft for years he was in several World of Warcraft books and he was in the warcraft event to take back the echo Isles back like around cataclysm time. Between Wrath of the Lich King so yeah he's been in Warcraft for years and he's awesome

If being part of a faction that slaughters innocents, and makes pacts with Death Loas suits you. Then yeah I can see that.
Joshua Methven to be fair the alliance are guilty of things too. They slaughtered an innocent Tauren town for example if you want to talk about slaughtering innocents, and also wanted to wipe out every goblin on kezan leaving no witnesses.
+TheGrimest Jaina Redeption cinematic actually tearjerked me as a long time horde player.
@@feynris General Hawthorne who led the attack on that Tauren Village. Ordered his troops to leave gaps in their defence so innocents could escape. Try again.
