      @@nascar3fan108 i carry a glock 17 9mm , and as for weight it's a major difference, you no longer feel the full weight of 18 rounds (17+1) plus the gun, also have a 31 round clip which is a bit extreme for my taste since it tickles my illegal bone to want the switch for full auto shear, besides that a full 31 round clip feels like i'm still just loading 10 rounds to it , love the ammo can't wait to reload them with my ideal powder and head combo next, my 75 cents worth you won't be disappointed

    The probability that the projectile driften downwards was due to your firing form a position that was elevated from the gel, had you fired from a level position with the gel the results would probably have been different. However, you have found the devastation these reound can cause even being so light, but traveling fast! The casings can be safely reloaded numerous times when loaded within standard limits, and even numerous times with excessive loads as has been shown in other extreme tests.
    I carry these loads in my EDC guns on a regular basis, not only for the damage created in soft tissue but the ability to penetrate harder objects as well. Since they do not have a hollow tip there is no possibility of them being clogged by clothing or other similar objects. I hope you enjoy the NOVEX reounds as much as I do.

      @@NA-rr7jlbecause they are so lightweight they rely on speed to do damage. When they meet a barrier, the speed and therefore the effectiveness drops off drastically. Unlike a bonded hollow point for example, which performs much better through barriers since they are much less reliant on velocity. I still choose to carry ballistic tip bonded hollow point. Best of all worlds for defensive carry

    Has anyone ran into any issues with these rounds feeding? I fired some of these with my sig p320and 2 out of 10 rounds didn't feed properly, and I haven't ran into any problems with any other ammo. I think maybe these rounds are slightly shorter than target loads and they may not have been seated in the magazine properly.

      Yes, I bought three boxes of this stuff to test and carry, as I was told it was a really good round. I had the same issue, every 3-6 rounds would fail to feed. Started to just shoot the last box at the range, and of course that one ran flawlessly. Can’t say I’d trust my life with it personally compared to other rounds on the market.

    They absolutely will destroy a center block, fmj may be a little better for similar things but they're a lot harder than you are thinking & with there energy can really penetrate well, as your gel showed.
    I believe you have the only gel test on the web & i missed it the first time, maybe it should be in the title. Wish it was clear but i take your word & it done what it should & penetrated well. 120,000rpm is what they claim i believe with the nose design which really does the "magic" or science here, really wish i could see the gel better but i understand; maybe next time you could shine a light behind it & that would help see it better on camera. Its designed to be even more devastating when introduced to the bodily fluids & have a venturi effect, it creates massive pressures & awesome wound cavities & channels, also should not really be effected by heavier winter clothing like most HPs. They claim faster cycling too, 106gr total is really nice especially if you have to carry a lot of ammo like me, after 8 hrs it makes a big difference & at 20 rounds a box for defense im carrying almost 4 boxes.🙄 With 430 ft\lbs of energy its a awesome round that is sure not to disappoint. Hopefully soon ill get to test on some critter or maybe a deer, sometimes ya know may not be totally dead & ill put a round directly in the heart.
    Anyways good testing i enjoyed it!👍

      Ballistic tests show it at 50 yards going 16 inches in with an almost 2 inch wound channel. 12 inches into gel when tested behind a car windshield. They are lethal

    • @rocknraptor3195
      @rocknraptor3195 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it should not! It acts different with bodily fluids by design. Also remember gel is less dense than human flesh & is not a 1:1 comparison. 16" in gel may only be 6-8" in a person or less. I've shot deer up close with 9mm gold dot HPs, just to quickly dispatch the animal & a heart shot hitting no bones 2-3' away will not even pass through; that was surprising to me. In gel those will get a whole lot of penetration. A lot of people get way too caught up in gel test & penetration but not understanding its very different, its meant to be a decent consistent testing medium for all testers to have similar results. Although many types of gel are available if two or more are using like materials the tests should be valid. One should always consider whats behind a target, but i wouldn't consider these no worse than any other round & over penetration shouldn't be a problem.

    Perhaps I'm gestimating incorrectly, but to my eyes, the NOVX over-penetrated per the FBI's 12-18" range, although it might have been less if it had to pass through the required 4 layers of clothing that weren't there. I'm now packing Underwood's fluted solid coper Xtreme Defenders, as to which there have been ample tests of it's exceptional performance. From the shape of the NOVX bullets, I'm guessing that the Underwood XD's were their inspiration, but they're charging so much more per round, one would think they must be so much better--which I haven't seen evidence of yet.
