Excellent video! Thanks for the information. Can you connect another pedal at the same time to control both pedals with the micro clock? I want to use it to control tap tempo for my dd7 and my zoom g3, both use normally closed switches
@@DisasterAreaDesigns Thanks for the reply! I'm about to buy one (in my shopping cart :) ).. to connect it to a chase bliss thermae do I have to buy your specific cable? Or will a standard TRS cable work that has 2 'ribbons' on both ends?
@disasterareadesigns QUICK QUESTION: For the DD7 does it have to be at 3200ms? Doesn't the Smartclock send a subdivided signal? Ex: the 800ms is that U2 dotted eighth sound, so what happens if you've programmed a preset with quarter, or dotted 8th, or _____, and then have the DD7 pedal knob set to 3200, 800, or one of the other settings? I have this same question regarding using my Smartclock with a Strymon Brigadier. In short: Where do the little switches on the Brig go and where does the far right knob go on the DD7 if you've programmed a specific subdivision into a Smartclock preset? Would they be in conflict? Thanks for the help!
@@DisasterAreaDesigns Thanks. Good point, I am using a single supply in a daisy chain. I never had any noise issues before with 5 pedals but this is a fair suggestion.
@@blakegerlock9755 Meanwhile, I had the pedal for a couple of months. You can change the delay time or bpm with the knob. I tested it with a Walrus ARP87.
The Boss DD-3T has modes that correspond to quarter note, dotted eighth and quarter note triplet.....the Micro.clock has options for those time divisions plus eighth note (non dotted). Does that give the DD-3T the eighth note option that doesn't come standard in the pedal?
@@DisasterAreaDesigns .....so if I want dotted eighth or triplets, etc....the DD-3T still needs the mode knob turned to the correct millisecond range.....the Micro.clock doesn't override that? And then a question on presets.....the DD-3T doesn't have presets available....but the Micro.clock does.....if you save some presets on the Micro.clock, one that is quarter note and one that is dotted eighth for example, will you get the delay you are looking for regardless of mode knob position on the pedal? Or do you have to adjust the mode knob to match the preset?
@@TexasTunesmith no, leave the pedal on 1/4 notes. The clock will tap in the correct rate. When you load a preset on the clock it’ll automatically tap the right speed. For example if you want quarter notes at 60 bpm the clock will tap one time per second. If you want 8th notes at 60 bpm it will tap one time every half second. It’s basically just a robot that’s good at tapping in the right speed, you leave the pedal alone. Important note the clock can’t control anything on the delay other than tempo so please don’t expect it to set the mix or repeats, etc.
@@DisasterAreaDesigns .....so I'm clear.....it doesn't matter if I want quarter, eighth, dotted eighth or triplets, leave the pedal in the "long" mode, which is 200-800ms (and quarter notes per Boss manual), and the Micro.clock does all the work? And by setting presets, all I would ever have to do is manually adjust repeats and effect level if needed?
Hi, wonderful pedal. It's possible to use with a DDL delay by Steen Skrydstrup? It's based on dd5 boss delay... but don't have a tempo/exp only switch tap tempo on the pedal, and input and output for guitar... Many thanks Beat Wishes
If it doesn't have a tap tempo jack, you might have a hard time connecting the micro.clock to it! You may wish to contact the maker of the modified pedal, if possible, to see whether a remote jack can be installed on your pedal.
Sure, use a TRS-MIDI cable to send MIDI clock from micro.clock to Timeline, then a second MIDI cable from Timeline to Volante. Use the 5P-TRS PRO or MJ-5P cable from our site, done. BTW quick tip the Volante is set up to ignore MIDI clock in every preset by default, you have to go in and enable it in live edit mode for each preset.

Does the DMC micro do this sort of thing? I'd love to get my T-Rex Replica (and a few others like TC Flashback) to do precise subdivisions and bpm. I don't really understand how it works. But it's cool. Your simple TNT is where I'm at right now. I just tap n go, subdivisions on the pedal if it has them. The MXR Echoplex Delay is wonderful and has a tap-in, but no subdivisions. I could almost live with that as my only delay, but no dotted 8/triplets/bpm screen etc. Sorry if I'm rambling.
Kind of - in the new v2.0 firmware it does have a clock source but can only send to a single device over the 1/4". It does support subdivisions. If you don't need the full MIDI control stuff that the DMC does, the micro.clock is the better choice, it's essentially a higher-tech version of the TNT you already have, same basic size too.
I have the micro.clock and I´m using it to send a tempo to another Midi Clock (erm Multi Clock) which synchs various electronical instruments. Everything works fine so far, but I havn`t yet figured out, if and how the micro.clock can send a "stop". Is there any setup that would use the tap switch for tapping when tappped and for stopping when held? Do you have a hint for me? Thanks!
You can connect a remote footswitch to the MultiJack to send tap tempo and start / stop mesages, but if you're already using the jack for MIDI then I'm afraid there's no way to do this.
Really helpful. I am using a v1 Smartclock that I've had for years and never used (life happened). So with this I can pretty well figure it out.
will this work on a boss rc3?
Does the Micro.clock work with the TC Electronic Flashback 2?

Reckon this might work with the new RE-2?
Yes, it should work just the same.
Would a micro.clock work with a DM-2W?
Do you know where to set the display to show milliseconds instead of BPM ? the website claims you can do this, but no mention in the PDF manual
Check in the t.DP (time decimal place) option. There should be an ms setting if you're on a more recent firmware.
