I loved that book! Someone gave it to me during my chemo treatment and it was perfect. I gave that book to a friend, bought 2 more, gave them away too!
One of my absolute favorite authors. Can't wait to read this one, even though short stories are not my favorite format. I'm sure I'll make an exception for him.
A friend recommended the new book to me today - he said he doesn’t generally like short stories but that this book is definitely worth it - I’m going for it!
Black, green,or red,all apples deserve to be judged based on the character of their apple, and not by the colour of their skin. These are apples, first and foremost. You may be able to so easily differentiate them by skin colour, but just know in your heart that is wrong.
Between the "there's a recording out there" bit, giving Amber a hard time, and the bit about car seat manufacturers in the nikki glaser interview, Seth was on fire this episode
I loved this book. Among my favorites. The Poisonwood Bible is the other one. There are many favorites but these two are tops. Enjoying the TV adaptation very much. Have my name in for Lincoln Highway. Rules of Civility introduced me to this talented writer.
If you love to read...why do you feel that they ( the people that make the visual media) should make it same/same? Enjoy the book ..it's an absolute classic and stop expecting that other media will do it justice! Congratulations Amor ...keep up the amazing writing!
Funny thing is I had NO knowledge it was a TV series. I've been waiting for a movie adaptation all this time and the casting director's part of my brain had Kenneth Branagh as The Count. Turns out he had been cast before Ewan but dropped out. I love Ewan but man I wish it had been Branagh but I guess he's tired of false moustaches.
I genuinely clicked on this thinking i was gonna see Fred Armisen pitching his new line of Amor Towles, towels for those in love...But then again,i guess they wouldnt likely have a name under his leadership.
@@louisepelte2942 Thanks I read Table For Two as well along with the novella about Eve! I really enjoyed each of the stories so I picked up all of his books on eBay including a compilation of mystery stories from 2023 which he picked…another great read!!! :)
Hard to feel like you have anything interesting to say if you had a good childhood. "The suburbs have no charms to soothe the reckless dreams of youth." - Neal Peart
I loved every page in the book. The series was also lovely. I found it odd to add so many different people of color. I am not racist but it seemed odd to have Miska as a black man. He did not seem to fit the part. Did anyone else find it seem out of character have Miska as black?
💯 Percent! I watched the series a week after I finished the book and Mishka's casting was so jarring to me and the changes they had made to his and Helena's connection as well
I am so bored about hearing stories of heterosexual relationships, and I don't know if I want to hear any more about gay men. I feel like that's all I cared about in past life. So maybe if there are any interesting stories that don't have a male lead, where there is something unique. I think same sex relationships might have a one up on hetero ones, like we undwrstand eachother better, and while therecould be competition, there is an opportunity for companionship that exceeds anyrhing we may have known before. I realize we haven't just invented same-sex relationship's, but I don't think it feels that way when you aweken to find the person of your dreams, ypur vest friend, that doubles your efforts and exceeds them, and suddenly all your goals are met or within sight. I feel like hetero relationships can be lazy. It is what everyone expects of you and it challenges no one.

The way Mr. Towles can turn a sentence. Brilliant. More authors please, Seth.
Great writer. I recommend his work, especially The Lincoln Highway.
Brilliant writer, I'm extremely thankful for his literature in our world
I love that Seth and other late nights have authors on
Amazing writer, I absolutely loved Rules of Civility and everything else he’s written 👏🏻♥️
Ditto! He’s in Dublin next week for the International Literary Festival & I’m so excited!
His new book includes a novella about Eve from "Rules of Civility" which I loved too.
Love everything he’s written.
One of my absolute favorite authors. Can't wait to read this one, even though short stories are not my favorite format. I'm sure I'll make an exception for him.
But the novella is about Eve from " Rules of Civility"!
A friend recommended the new book to me today - he said he doesn’t generally like short stories but that this book is definitely worth it - I’m going for it!
Loved " A Gentleman in Moscow". Looking forward to reading "Table for Two".
You will not be disappointed!!
Seth is great at putting tags on and wrapping up people's stories. This and the Nikki Glaser carseat line are two perfect examples.
A brilliant compassionate writer. Keep on writing! cheers
Great analogy to describe what a short story is! That was an enjoyably intelligent conversation and it's made me interested in watching the series.
Correction, sort of: Very dark, almost black apples DO exist. They're called Black Diamond or Obsidian apples and are grown in Tibet.
That's racist!
@jeffdroog ????

My favorite living artist

On FIRE FOR REELSSSS 🔥
The car manufacturers made me laugh so hard I startled my dog 😂 I’m v mad at the audience for not laughing harder on that one.
The series was beautiful! Thank you, Amor! Even McGregor was superb. Bravo!
I love author interviews!
I loved this book. Among my favorites. The Poisonwood Bible is the other one. There are many favorites but these two are tops.
Enjoying the TV adaptation very much.

oh I love his books! I buy them by author, don't even bother with the summary at the back of the book.
I'm actually listening to Table For Two right now. I'm on disc 4 and I like it.
We love amor towles
Speak for yourself!
Dang that,” good news there’s a recording out there “ comment was so good. Does he have an ear piece with Baze feeding him one liners??
Amazing stories
I can confirm, as a television editor, that producers don't want to hear from the author at ALL haha (when it's a book adaptation)
If you love to read...why do you feel that they ( the people that make the visual media) should make it same/same?
Enjoy the book ..it's an absolute classic and stop expecting that other media will do it justice! Congratulations Amor ...keep up the amazing writing!
You need less meth...
I think the tv series really shows just how much better books are. You truly cannot compare them even though Ewan McGregor has been magnificent.
I completely agree...the show just doesn't do the book justice. Ewan is the best thing about it tho
I often forgo watching books made into tv or movies that I have really loved with such great characters because they never live up to my expectations.
Funny thing is I had NO knowledge it was a TV series. I've been waiting for a movie adaptation all this time and the casting director's part of my brain had Kenneth Branagh as The Count. "...and nothing happens."
Felt that.
I genuinely clicked on this thinking i was gonna see Fred Armisen pitching his new line of Amor Towles, towels for those in love...But then again,i guess they wouldnt likely have a name under his leadership.
Great writer reading ROC now!!
ROC my favourite and in his new book, the novella is about Eve in Hollywood.
@@louisepelte2942 Thanks I read Table For Two as well along with the novella about Eve! I really enjoyed each of the stories so I picked up all of his books on eBay including a compilation of mystery stories from 2023 which he picked…another great read!!! :)

Back to the show? Why was he on before?
I loved every page in the book. The series was also lovely. I found it odd to add so many different people of color. I am not racist but it seemed odd to have Miska as a black man. He did not seem to fit the part. Did anyone else find it seem out of character have Miska as black?
Felt the same way. Did not enjoy the series as much as I wanted to exactly for that reason. Loved, loved the book!
💯 Percent! I watched the series a week after I finished the book and Mishka's casting was so jarring to me and the changes they had made to his and Helena's connection as well
It does seem odd to have a white Jesus yet that doesn't seem to be a problem does it?
The black characters were a surprise to me but their 2100 century hairstyles shocked me more.
I went to high school with him.
What was he like?? 😊😁
O nome dele : Amor - significa love em portuguese.😮
And Spanish, Catalan, Asturian, and more
Lots of old guys on the show tonight. Guests included
He'd be a Good KGB agent. Know there is a big market for classical bootlegs :D
Which crime was worse, the bootlegging or that story?

I loved the book and I can’t stand the tv series! The acting is great but the woke adaptation destroyed the historical aspect of the book.
I watched the trailer and was surprised they didn't even attempt to have an accent.
You have no problem with White Jesus though, right? So grow up.
I thought that was Johnny Knoxville
