I used to make bowl cover and would just serge the edge with matching thread or light fabric with white and then stretch the elastic as you sew it on. Was not fussy with the binding. Love Addy skirt, she sure is a cutie!

It must be so fun sewing for your baby girl. If I had a girl to sew for, I would be BANKRUPT! I love the apron idea with the turkey fabric. That will be a great conversation piece. Have a great weekend and look forward to your next Friday sews❤

Wow, you finished a lot this week. On the bowl cozies, there are several You Tube videos that might give you some ideas that will work better than the instructions you have. Addie is adorable in her new skirt! I'm cutting out a pair of pants today. Enjoy your camping trip.

Hi Tiffany, that’s wonderful that you were able to make so many girls dresses for ones in need!!!! That’s kind of you to do that. I finished my aprons and started on a camp shirt. It’s a new to me pattern, it’s a Liesl and co that I got on sale a while ago. I got the fabric from Cali fabrics and it seems nice so far. I also got a piece to make a Toaster sweater which I have never made. I still have to buy the pattern but I plan to start as soon as I finish the camp shirt. I hope you had a fun weekend camping ❤️

I love that turkey fabric, it will make a cute apron! You’ve gotten a lot of sewing done this week. Addie is so cute in her new skirt. Today, I’ve finally finished the sweet & spooky lap quilt I’ve been working on here and there since August. Not sure what I’ll work on next ( besides mending a few things). Have a great week!

Ha - the turkey fabric is great! Maybe it could be the top part and pockets on an apron with coordinating fabric? And potholders from what's left 🦃. Love the little skirt - maybe one is enough, though! I finally finished a Simplicity hoodie and have worn it. I'm getting close to finishing cleaning out a relative's house and am eager to get some sewing done - the question is what to make first?!?

I’ve made the bowl covers without a casing. Go in a little ways and then just stretch on the elastic around. If you don’t go at the edge it will look like a little ruffle and just turn in edge so it doesn’t unravel if you want the ruffle a little bigger just make a bigger circle.

Tiffany, the turkey fabric is so cute, and Addy is adorable!! I like your bowl cover, and speaking of elastic, I am making my first peasant Dress a Girl dress and using your very helpful "sew with me." I had a devil of a time stitching the elastic ends together for the neckline. It sent me to my machine's book and the internet. After 55 minutes, I raised the tension and did get it to work. It doesn't look so good, but luckily it's inside the casing. Do you change to a ballpoint needle to sew the ends of elastic? Any other tips? Happy weekend! ❤
