funny how treachery is good for any class except assassin... Design flaws are funny sometimes. (For those who wonder, the procs will override your own manually casted buffs, which you usually don't want)
I mean, you could also just put those points into other skills/synergies but I’ve never touched an assassin build really so I don’t know her skill trees etc.
@jesseroberts1041 the problem is that it gets rid of burst of speed which is an incredibly busted skill and is basically mandatory for every Sin build because all her traps are cast off of attack speed. Also for Sin the resists are less important because for a melee sin losing BoS reduces your Life Leach which is more important for staying alive, and for a Trap Sin you're generally just staying back and being out of the way and spamming bombs and traps to stop the enemies from even reaching u.
I disagree. People who use BoS cast it all the time unnecessarily anyway (after they kill 2 o 3 packs of enemies). If fade proc, you will just cast BoS anyway and override it. It’s a good assa armor.
So from what I've seen on creators videos it seems that we can possibly hit higher attack speed breakpoints for frenzy/zeal. Maybe BOTD + Treachery on user may allow us to hit that better than grief. What do you think?

It really depends on your polearm base and Merc's break points, including a possible +35% from andy visage. If I have fast polearm like Thresher, Fortitude is better. With a cryptic axes I would rather give him treachery. What you really don't want is for the Merc to have low attack speed. That said, for me the REAL test for the merc is Travincal.
Does the proc fade also makes burst of speed malfunction the same way as casted Fade skill? Assasin can have only one of them up, but I dont know if its the same with proc one.
Thanks for the content. I have a tesladin using zeal and im torn between Fortitude and Chains of Honor. I have a Pb Grief so I fear the 200% ED won't really help but the defense is huge. Where as CoH gives the skills and resistance and life leech freeing up other item slots. What should I be considering? I was set to go to Fortitude but after seeing CoH I'm now stuck.
The Ed on fort doesn't help non physical damage, as a tesladin most of your damage is from lightning. The Ed on fort will help the grief/zeal physical damage. CoH seems like the better choice in your case but it's really up to you. Paladins Don't really have defense issues due to holy shield.
Mine merc is insight in eth thresher , eth duriel and eth crown of thieves and its working amazing. Just got drops for that. Only i needed to buy was eth duriel for um. What do u think about this build ?
I would like to eventually do some hard core characters. With how much I crash on a regular basis.. I am just not sure about it. Plus my girlfriend/daughter distract me regularly and get me killed lol. Not sure I have the right lifestyle for hardcore at the moment. Just take a look at my when my girlfriend visits the stream video I died like 4 times just cause she was in the room. I eventually switched to a different character that didn't require as much attention to play.
Found a ber then a eth 4os cryptic axe next day. Still have no idea which armor to use With infinity. I know if i go fort then ill need a thresher.. IDK
it's too late ik, but for infinity, i would recommend fortitude + andy face. You will not rely on procs with your inf merc, and you will probably want him to be ready right from the start (and not waiting for proc). That being said, treachery is litterally a free armor to test for a few hours.
treachery sounds all good to me but my merc doesnt really get damaged much when hes in the midst of my skeletons, revives and golem (even in HELL world stone keep)...maybe another armor would be for him in my case
Maybe try an act 1 merc with cold arrow and faith bow for fanaticism. Although just having your act 2merc exist with might aura and pride/insight is cool too.
Treachery is better bc the fade and 45% ias for the life leech effect from Andy's helm although if you're using tomb reaver it gets 60% ias so that with Fortitude is better just won't get the res from fade my sorcs Merc using tomb reaver with eth superior wyrmhide Fortitude is over 20k maybe Treachery and Tomb reaver with a shael in it just incredibly fast attack speed that would be 125% ias wow.

Just traded 15 Jah runes for a Treachery with 1027 defense. Using it on my merc for ubers. My Fortitude is 2853 defense, so Treachery is a big drop from that. Fortitude also gives +142 to Life, but Treachery boosts IAS to 80%, so regen with Life Tap should be better, and DPS may be in the same ballpark. Getting used to the difference. Tried using Treachery as a pre-buff, but it seems there's a bug in D2R where the merc graphics stay faded even after Fade wears off, so you can't tell without looking at the merc stats window. Between that and the hassle of switching merc armor, the pre-buff idea isn't appealing to me.
Update: I ended up trading my Treachery with 1027 defense to someone else for 13 Jah runes, so I lost a couple Jah over both trades, but am happy I got to give it a real try. With Treachery on my merc, Fade just took way too long to activate. Ended up spending more time on merc pre-buff than actually killing ubers. And even with Fade active on my merc, he still dies sometimes. So I'm going back to Fortitude on my merc.

My ladder necro is now lvl 92 and was wearing treatchery from about lvl 85. Just because it was cheap and I did not have a Lo rune. Have a GV insight with tals mask. So not the best but not the worst. My merc did die alot before and after it was a lot better. I don't have enigma so I don't Tele and walk/run most of my farming runs. I run countess, andariel, lower kurast, trans, pindle and the other 2 loosers, baal and then diablo. The armour helped me out a lot and fade triggered rather quickly. Today I made my first fortitude..... Let's see how it goes.

Treachery is nowhere near as good as Fortitude. Fortitude keeps your merc alive in hell. Treachery does not. But I have 5 mercs with Treachery, and one fortitude I pass around if needed. So treachery is widely applicable but fortitude is better. Much more damage, much better survivability. The difference is survivability is actually staggering. It is not even close. My fortitude merc runs into travincal and is fine, my treachery merc dies before proccing fade. That is how big difference it is.
I can see where you are coming from with this, but it's been my experience the gap between Fort and Treachery is far smaller then you would make it seem. Yes Procing fade is an issue, and for people who do extremely short duration games like kill pindle and trav and make a new one treach is not gonna win against fort. because you are giving no time for the fade to proc and stay up. But Treach when properly synergized with weapon and helmet can be imo more effective then fort, For people not running 30 second games.
I have many treachery as its so easy to make. Finally decided to make a fortitude because I keep seeing these arguments ......fortitude is 100x better. I rarely ever pot, doesn't matter where I am farming. 100% noticeable. Survivability is all I care about. Not sure why people care about merc damage, you should be doing the killing lol.
Attack speed + life steal equals Merc survivability as well. Fade on treachery also increases survivability. They both have their pros and cons and require specific builds
again, it all depends on your activities and builds. To support a reaper's toll, treachery will make it proc decrepify more often, and with guillaume's face, crushing blow more often. On the survivability side, treachery is meant for long runs. If you clear a zone like travincal or pindleskin and get out, then fortitude is 100% better. But once treachery has procced, it's better or at least somewhat comparable. Fortitude is better to survive high physical damage bursts too (because of huge defense). Whereas treachery is better to survive swarms of enemies when paired with reaper's toll and holy freeze for exemple (mobs move slow mo, like matrix really so they can't do shit even extra fast extra strong cursed ...)

I exclusively play Amazons I much prefer treachery for my shoot n scoot playstyle the 45ias makes a huge difference and allows a lot more leeway in gloves I keep it on my merc because it makes the reapers decrypify proc within seconds on everyone he hits

You need guardian angel and um/ral rune for Travincal. You came up with the only place where fortitude or treachery are not the best possible armors.
I have found that I use Treachery to start, as you said it is much cheaper, but I notice he survives much better with Fortitude

Yes you would have to recast burst of speed to overwrite the fade. Every time the fade procs you would have to recast burst of speed.

Fort with defance aura is great your merc will have around 12k-15k def if your sorc have chiled amror will have about 10k defance too
If corpses are a thing then watch out for the chilling armor proc from fortitude.

Tresh meditation and prayer is great on merc double heal all res damege reduction poison and curse time reduse

Fortitude for bossing. Treachery for mobbing. If you aren’t gonna get hit by lots of small attacks, Treachery isnt very good.

I would tend to say the contrary. To one shot trash mobs, fortitude. To go into the tough fight, treachery might be better in a lot of cases.

Both are cheap to make but if I can achieve the IAS breakpoints for 4.5 ticks, I always try to go for treachery though.

Fortitude is better to survive high physical damage bursts too (because of huge defense). Whereas treachery is better to survive swarms of enemies when paired with reaper's toll and holy freeze for exemple (mobs move slow mo, like matrix really so they can't do shit even extra fast extra strong cursed ...)

the 45ias makes a huge difference and allows a lot more leeway in gloves
I keep it on my merc because it makes the reapers decrypify proc within seconds on everyone he hits
yes, it may not be perfect but its great for a non-rich bowazon
@@bugfeatures it's great for a blizz sorc too. (don't need infinity because most cold immune monsters can't be broken anyway). reaper + treachery + guillaume (35% crushing blow)
