I use this weapon for Amazon, with Melee skill "Fend", it is similar to Barbarian skill Iron Skin & Natural Resist, because the weapon got the high defense & high all resist. Base weapon speed 0 is not bad. Add more "increase speed" from other part of item, it is an excellent melee item. :)

I got this spear last ladder. Pretty decent rolls too: +3 Jav skills, 270% ED, 45 all res. The only low roll was the extra def at 449. I'll take that for my Spearazon tbh.
i think it would get a lot more use if it had something like 40% ias added and 3-5 skill variable. then its semi viable, compare it to titans revenge plus spirit shield, ill take option 2 any day on any skill

It's okay at level 64 if your gear is meh as a melee Zon... problem is you won't find it until late into hell difficulty, so this item is more aptly judged as an end game item. In that regard, it's trash. lol
Just dropped a +3/272%/544/34 one @59 NM. - I think the effectiveness of 'elite uniques' especially the ladder only very rares ones; greatly depend on your build. Like, Penelae the Toxotai Amazon I built first, uses a +3 Mat Spear BotD on switch; wouldn't find a use for this. She has elite Iratha's and could actually drop 25 allres, and still be @85 allres. Either weapon set. Kynanae is modelled after a Hoplite somewhat. She would of had a lot more trouble in A1 Hell without Stoneraven. Partly because she was so low entering Hell, and undergeared. - In real terms, Stoneraven does much more damage than any of the RW Spear options.; and is especially good for her, whom prefers Lightning strike over Impale. Given the Javs awaiting her is a +4 Thunderstroke that Penelae found. Stoneravens defensive bonuses make it the pefect switch.

It's a nice defensive spear, it's hard getting resistances when you are using 2 handers
