    I love Miley and I thoroughly enjoyed making my 1st-ever reaction and analysis video for one of her songs! She has such a cool voice, and is really finding her groove in terms of style. What else do y'all want to see me react to and analyze?

    She has evolved into the singer she is today and her voice is great in this 👏
    She’s not the young HM anymore and her voice has really grown up as has her style

    "Smokey" is perfect description for her voice. Never been a big fan of hers, but definitely have more appreciation for her work now.

    She starts off low and raspy setting the sad mood and then goes seemlessly higher and stronger to accentuate moving on but still has a grown up raspy growl in the background of her voice 👍
    She sounds great singing this live 👏

    I didn't like Miley at first but after watching her be a coach on The Voice I started to appreciate her as a person a lot more and I learned more about her sound. These days I really like her music.

    Love this song. And so far, it hasn't gotten old even though it's been played to death. I also liked 'Nothing Breaks Like A Heart'. Both on my Housework playlist. Thanks for the walk-through, Peter.

    The way Miley’s voice used vibrato and the way it just flows out of her mouth like a brass wind instrument reminds me of the old school French female singers

    I first came to your channel for Dimash, but Miley's Flowers may be the best pop song I've listened to recently. Loved her voice (she was amazing with the cover of Nothing Else Matters - I didn't know that she could go that low), loved her attitude in this song!

    I love the tambour of her voice and the grit. Love the rhythm and beat of this song. Her attitude and mannerisms really reminds me of my daughter and I love it. Really love the message and empowerment of the lyrics. She put a lot of symbolisms in this song referring to her ex hubby. She is a very lovely and sexy lady who keeps herself in shape and looks like she enjoys it. I love that last belt followed by that gritty cry. EPIC !!! Thank you SO much for breaking this one down. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on a fellow artist in your age range. Have you seen any of her BBC Live Lounge recordings ? Great to see her r -sing some of her older songs and hear the differences. Check 'em out.

    Ok, the back story to this song is about her split from her husband. Now the story on the street is that this is the house her ex rented to meet up with his trysts. So, yeah, this gal has balls! I'm glad you did this one. There is another where her voice is so different Nothing Breaks Like A Heart. I wish she wouldn't have been so controversial when she did Wrecking Ball. It totally hid what a great song it is, and what a great lyricist she truly is.

    Thanks for the video, and please do more Miley! One of my favorites and a totally different sound, is her Maybe cover. Btw, the house she shot the video at is not her home, it's actually Frank Sinatra's old house. She also recorded her Backyard Session from her new album there.

      *THANK YOU* for stating that location fact of Miley's Flowers video clip . *SO MANY* of her fans get it wrong & say it's the house where Liam Hemsworth had sex with 14 women at once during his infidelity ~ Which is a falsehood rumour . Even though unforgivable - he only cheated on her with Jennifer Lawrence and Miley's backup dancer . ♑️✍️🇳🇴🇦🇺

    Peter. I did some research behind the story behind this track. I think you should too. There's a lot of meaning behind this track and it's probably a form of therapy for her when she finished putting this track together. She's a born performer. The crazy dance has a meaning and significance. This entire video has a very personal meaning for her. Her performance for winning the Grammy's was simply put awesome! I like how you broke what she's doing vocally. Thanks for the info. Yes please, more Miley!

From what you said about your training / expertise I'd like IF you'd react to John Farnham's Help , any of he's singing in the Main Event concert Or the 1992 Australian cast Jesus Christ Superstar full ( TH-cam ) video of Everything's alright . • @maudglazbrooke1287
    @maudglazbrooke1287 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your explanation of the key left me with infinitely more questions than it answered, most of which probably boil down to me not knowing when music theory is using English as I understand it and when it is using it as jargon.
    What is a third a third of? And if it isn't 1/3 of something, why is it call a third?

    • @elizabethbuerke7854
      @elizabethbuerke7854 ปีที่แล้ว

      I could be wrong because I'm not super knowledgeable about music theory, but I think it is a third of an octave.

    • @drekfletch
      @drekfletch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Short answer: In music there are 7 notes in an octave (1-7 in a repeating pattern up the scale. An octave is the 8 notes to get back to the start. a to a, or d to d, f'ex. A third is the third note above or below the foundation / melody note.
      Long answer: Laying out the spacing between notes in a scale is a THING in music, and there's theory vids on youtube that will do much better than I. There are certain ratios of frequencies that just sound better, and some that sound worse. The big ones are the 3rd and the 5th; unfortunately the ratio between them does not sound good without some tweaking so, again it's become a THING.

    • @maudglazbrooke1287
      @maudglazbrooke1287 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@drekfletch So an octave is 7 notes counted as 8? Is that what I just read? I've heard of gatepost counting disagreements but that one kinda hurts. (and neither number divides by 3 so there's that idea neatly kiboshed). But it might explain why drummers always start counting at 2.
      To get to that third note, are you counting the note you are starting on, or do you start counting one over? Cause after that 7 as 8 debacle I think I need to check conventions.

    • @drekfletch
      @drekfletch ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maudglazbrooke1287 no. an octave is the full cycle back to the start. 12345671. And as I said, it is the third note, not a third of an octave.

    • @maudglazbrooke1287
      @maudglazbrooke1287 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drekfletch The comment about it being a 3rd of an octave was basically to the other person who replied to me.
      But yeah I followed the 12345671, but frankly it hurts my head. Are you saying each octave overlaps the next one by one note?!?
