    Love it when you engineer the awkwardness out of a thing! This is wonderful. I may never use the two-rows-at-once idea, but I'll do it this way if I do!

    That’s brilliant! It works splendidly to keep edges straight. Going into the top of that that chain four at the end of each row is essential and effective.

    You are a genius. I had seen several videos on this process but had decided not to waste my time using it because of the ugly edge. You solved that problem. Thank you so much. I like the blanket with the ice cream colors, because it looks like a log cabin pattern since it is in blocks of color instead of stripes.

    This is the 1st time I have followed anything on a video and was happy that I found you totally by accident. I love this stitch and I was surprised at how neat it came out. I have made a baby blanket with your instructions and it was used as an action prize at an assisted living house!. Thanks again .

    9:40 Your absolutely right and that is exactly what I was thinking makes sense! Thanks for a great video and for taking the time out to show and explain your idea! Another thought: I am thinking of starting with a Foundation chain though instead of regular chains. I so detest working in chains. lol

    Your video tutorial came up on my search for this technique. I have watched several before yours and they don’t even hold a candle to yours. Their edges were not straight like yours. I’ve been working on a dc, double strand 4 ply, using a size 10.0 mm hook for a kennel cover for my dog. I would have saved myself so much time if I would have learned this stitch. Thank you for an awesome tutorial that I will now be able to finish my wip a lot faster! Looking forward to see what else is on your channel!

    I watched other tutorials on this stitch and didn’t get it and gave up. I’ve been watching your channel and your tutorials on other things patterns and stitches etc. and thought I’d check to see if you had a tutorial on this double row double crochet. Sure enough you did and after one try watching your tutorial I got it! The way you teach is amazing and inspiring. Thank you so much and I look forward to all the new patterns and tutorials.

    usually it irritates me to no end when people count constantly in their tutorials, but for some reason his did not irritate me at all 🤔😊I was literally in the middle of figuring this out and I was playing around with skipping the first Stitch in my fourth row came out so much better than my first two rows and your video mysteriously came on after the tutorial I was watching ,perfect! 💜

    You smashed this one out of the park. I would probably do a standing tripple or quadruple stitch at the start of the row as I think the standing stitch looks better than just a loop.

    Wauww I love this 2, I’m working with this now. In stead of the first 4 loops, I do 4 x single crochet above each , for the first “2 above dubble crochet”. That also give a beautyfull edge.

    *Thank you!!!!!*
    The edges are a problem and I was trying to figure out how to solve it too.
    This is much better!
    I noticed that I came up with 11 posts even tho we chained 10 as a foundation. It looks like you did too. I'm not sure if that matters, but it might if you're doing something that requires counting.
    Have you tried 3 or more rows at the same time?
    It totally works! But it may work better with a Tunesian hook.
    ☕🥐

    These are the same 2 tweaks I learned get perfectly straight edges on my regular double crochet work. I was about to try them out on this double-height crochet technique (I saw the other video first), but now I don't have to, and I can go to bed :) That chain 4 instead of 5 at the turn is a good tip, too!

    • @RameyRocks
      @RameyRocks 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you explain what you mean about your regular double crochet work? Are you saying that you just chain one less at the beginning?

    • @gfixler
      @gfixler 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RameyRocks No, that one is unique to this video/stitch. The two tweaks I made to how I was originally double crocheting, in order to get straighter edges than I had been getting, are 1) starting in the first space, instead of skipping it, and 2) stopping in the last space, instead of reaching down the edge to make up a stitch, because of the skipped space. It seems both ways are taught as standard. I learned through TH-cam, and kept seeing videos where people skipped that first space, and made it up at the end, and they all get wiggly edges. Then I saw a video about how to fix that, and they just shifted everything over by starting in the first space, as is also shown in this video.
