Like the way you did this job. More of a fiddle but less stripping than other videos I’ve seen. Planning to tackle my 2012 150k xc90 soon and definitely going to try your method. Cheers
It’s the fastest way I know Bryan - 2 bits of advice… firstly, really take your time when you remove the cooler and pipes, carefully observing how they come out, so that you know how to feed them back! the other thing is that if you encounter any resistance as you feed them back, it is likely to be a sensor wire so don’t force anything! Good luck, and thanks for watching!
Hi Tim, Thank you for the very helpful and excellent video. I plan to do what you did on my 2006 XC70. The engine you worked on , can you remember is it a 163 or 185 BHP version? Many thanks.
A bit of time since you did this but can you remember if there was a gasket between the egr and the corrugated pipe which is connected with 2 bolts, ? everyone misses that in their videos because the second bolt on the flange is such a swine to get out, when i eventually undid mine there was no gasket, Thanks Ted.
Hi Ted - it has been a while, but no… there is not a gasket as such; I think you are supposed to give it a smear of exhaust assembley paste on refitting - the exhaust equivalent of a liquid gasket
@tedstewart114 no worries - liquid gasket won’t handle the heat… they are mostly silicone based. It needs to be exhaust assembley paste - easy to find in any good motor factor

You are very welcome - thanks for watching! It was the 163 (2.4 D5)

@@bigtalltim Thanks so much for getting back on this, now I know that I’ll get some liquid gasket. Kind Regards. Ted

@@bigtalltim Ok, ill go for exhaust liquid gasket, Thanks Ted
This its 163ch work with 200ch vanne egr?
Great question - honest answer, I’m not sure! The more powerful engines tend to be petrol which is a different setup, but for any d5 it should work
