Just bought a '98 1100 Virago today! It is in mint condition with 18,000 miles. This is my first cycle and I'm in love with it! Love the way it pulls so hard from 1500rpm. I was looking at some slightly newer cruisers like the V star and Honda Shadow classic with the retro fenders and fat front tire, and am so glad I got this black and gold beauty. It's like a two wheel Pontiac Trans Am.
@@Howdybrxhh I have 22,000 miles now, and it's running like a Swiss Watch. Yamaha reliability is astounding. Just replaced some brake pads, charged the battery after the winter. Only wish is for better MPG - it only gets about 40 - and the seat needs to be slightly firmer for long haul comfort
@@kingelvis7035 better gas mileage than my car haha but my main concern on the bike is parts since it’s discontinued and trying to find them. The bike needs a carburetor cleaned but I don’t fully believe that. I rather just replace it or have it cleaned/repaired. Any advice for that? Thanks!
@@Howdybrxhh Working on a bike is magnitude easier than a car. Everything's out in the open to see. I've found cycle mechanics to be either overpriced or over quirky. Same carb is used on many models of cycle, so shouldn't be impossible to find. Great thing about a cycle is you don't need it for commuting so you can calmly take your time to fix it right. This is a circa 1980 design, so not overly complicated.
Just bought a well maintained 1997 Virago 1100, it will be delivered in two days, can't wait. It's nice to see all these positive reviews about the bike on TH-cam, thanks for posting this one. :)
Very nice, good choice. I bet you are excited... I would be😁. Now in the UK the weather is crap so I couldn't ride for over a week 😢 can't wait to get out again. Thank you for joining 🙏👍
"Everybody should buy a cruiser." Well I don't know about everybody but definitely I would. Yamaha Virago - What a beautiful motorcycle. And God those countryside scenery & roads. Marvelous!
I can't wait to get over this virus situation so I can go and ride again in those beautiful countryside roads and show it to you all... Thank you for your support
Thank you. Really appreciate it. This was my childhood dream, only could afford to buy one now unfortunately, but was worth waiting for it. I personally always liked this U shaped (looking at it from the side) style cruisers/choppers.
@@MidlandCruiser glad you managed to buy your dream bike! now I've gotten more into cruisers and choppers the Viragos looks have grown on me alot! it's oddly unique looking and that's cool! hope you enjoy every bit of sunny weather here in the UK on your bike!, and I'll keep an eye out for more videos! cheers.
There's an 1100 Virago for sale on a supermarket parking lot the next town over from here. The bike is in very good shape but has some ridiculous highway pegs installed with the biggest, ugliest mounting bracket in the western world. Gross.
@@st1100boy Hi, I just noticed your comment... It is very easy to customize these bikes, so just because it has something you don't like it might be still a good buy and just change that part to either the original or something you like..
Thank you very much... I just love the way it looks and now with the custom exhaust... Ohh man, fantastic. Please feel free to join my channel for more content 😉👍
That is great... You will love it. It has a very nice character and just loves thumping around well below speed limit. I find myself doing 35-40 on a 50 road quite a bit.. Relaxing and enjoying the sound and view.. All the best 👍
@@Howdybrxhh ok, yes it could be. Also could be blocked filter, not enough fuel, reserve switch not working or the fuel relay sending a wrong signal to the pump which will make it run like it is out of fuel, or if it's converted to gravity fed, the petcock is blocked...could be many things
😁Thank you.. Believe it or not that was like the 2nd time I pressed it, and just couldn't stop laughing, suprised me because I didn't know it is an air horn.. Love it, it's awesome
The levers are not, but the switches, grips, bar-end weights are all original from 1997. The levers are adjustable Chinese ones, I think 20 quid a pair including shipping.
😁Believe it or not I actually started looking into that... The only thing I don't like is that most of the adventure bikes are chain driven except BMW but can't afford that.. So for now just looking and dreaming 🤣👍

@@MidlandCruiser Yes first Virus-Go & only then Virago. Take care of yourself & family. 👍
Best bike I have ever owned, wish I still had my Virago 1100. Thanks for sharing.
Had an ‘86. Loved the bike. Now have a V Star. The point here is Yamaha makes a quality product.
Yeah they do. People don't realize Hondas have inherent probs just like all bikes. I enjoy the carburetor ones.
An engine that has torque is a pleasure to drive slowly
Totally agree. In my latest video I got to ride my ex bike again and to be honest I prefer the Virago.. I must be getting older 🤔🤣👍
nice one, i'll soon be bringing my own XV1100 to the roads of derbyshire
I wasn't a fan of the Viragos looks, but I have to admit the style has grown on me out of nowhere. Good video!

Always liked the Virgo 1100 👍 .
Lovely bike you have
