I think this is an awesome browser if used correctly, and due to the events going on right now, everyone should at least give TOR browser a try to keep themselves safe, and improve their digital preparedness. Stay safe out here folks!
Nice! Been wondering when you were going to cover TOR. I think with all these websites and politicians looking at everything that we're trying to search, this will definitely be needed for the prepping community.
Great video and thanks for sharing! What are your thoughts in comparing TOR with the incognito or InPrivate modes of other browsers such as Edge or Chrome? Off the bat it appears TOR does a much better job at encrypting data and using multiple connection points where, from what I've read, Incognito/InPrivate does not. Still, I've used a combination of a VPN and Incognito to get around some censorship in some research I've done. (not illegal, just informational, purely). Combined with the performance issues, this may be a good inbetween method to remain more secure and anonymous.
Great question! To answer, generally it is a good idea to use a VPN/Incognito for some privacy when browsing the web. However, doing some testing on my end, the "slowness/performance" really are not that drastic. Sure, you may not be able to download large files, or watch movies in 1080p, but it's 100% useful for what you mentioned (doing research, bypassing censorship). There are ways that even if you're in incog mode and using a VPN, that people can be able to see details of your device (see youtuber "Pleasant Green"), and I think TOR would be able to hide from even those methods. Hope this answers your question!
Have you been using it? It depends on what you're using it for to be fair. Obviously you probably wouldn't be using it for watching videos or something like that. That's what a VPN can be used for. TOR is more to circumvent censorship, or to hide yourself online if you're wanting to search for things you need privacy for.
I do disagree that TOR is an outdated software, as it's constantly getting updates. But you're not wrong that there are other browsers like Brave that do similar things. However, I do think TOR is the leader of private internet browsers.

Thanks for this Digital!
(notice I stopped using DP) 😄
Lol of course! Stay safe out here Sarge!
Tor is great for privacy, but slowness makes it almost unusable 🤷♂️

I don't think it's that slow to make it unusable, plus what's a little slowness for privacy?
I wonder how long we will be able to have tools like TOR or tails before they are seen as the new “gun” and banned. 🤔
Doesn't stop people from using them in places that it is banned. This is why we prep!
I use Chrome, the safest browser of all lol 😆
HA! And I use Microsoft Edge lol (Chrome is seriously not "that" bad, but I get ya).
The TOR is very outdated. For peppers, this is an ecosystem utopia!
