You and your dad are amazing BUT I could NEVER live where it is that cold, rainy and that much snow. I DO love to watch the work being done on the cabin.GREAT JOB
There is so much beauty, work, thought, and time that goes into this .. camera angles, measurements, conversations, editing, warmth of relationship, inspiration, energy .. and a lot more .. surrounded by the Scripture of the first book ever written .. the Book of Nature! The beams of light from the sun .. are stored in the towering trees .. to become supporting beams in a home. A lot of good lessons come from working like this .. shaping a life with good measure! Loved every minute! 👍
You mirrored my thoughts exactly - even to the sound effect of the moaning wind in the drone shots way overhead - that added that little bit of extra effort that made the scene work all that much better... very much a professional production shot end edited with care that's really appreciated by us viewers. Those beams of sunlight - the snow blowing off the boughs - the shots on the back of the logs being towed back towards the cabin... a real treat for us - for me!
You and your dad work well together. Im sure your wife is smiling down at you. Y'all should be proud of your selves. The dream is coming to life. I can see its beauty starting to peek through already !!! To me its not just seeing the finished product as it is the journey of making that dream come true an only then seeing it finally completed. God bless you !
Such an immense amount of effort and work to build a relatively simple structure. But, one day soon, imagine sitting in front of a cozy fire, and knowing every single log, every single nail and screw, was done by your own hands. That must be an incredibly good feeling. Payback forever. Well done!
Looking good Brother. Now U and your Dad can kick back and relax and reflect on your accomplishments. It's only going get easier from here on out. Looking forward to your next video of U Enjoying winter. ✌👊👊
That tractor cranked (25:12), and then that mini blizzard, well this old southern man (Alabama) nearly froze to death just watching. Watching you and your dad skate along those icy snow covered logs and ladders was high anxiety for me. What a relief to see that tarp go on. That must have been a very emotional moment. Thank you so very much for the extra efforts you make to record the incredible beauty around your cabin. You’re the best.
At the beginning of the video you were a poet instead of a woodsman, well done. I am sure your grandfather is proud of all you accomplish on his property.
I'm watching this on Valentines evening 2020. I get to be nice and cozy with warm clothes. I feel for both of them, but glad they want to do it for us to enjoy! Great videos. Will watch more of yours.
I'm so grateful for you and your dad, hope your wife is doing well considering all the challenges she is facing. You definitely deserve the peace of mind that would bring. Those working conditions really tested your metal, but once again the two of you proved up to the challenge. Thanks for maintaining your high caliber of videography in the face of such adverse conditions. That roof structure and tarp will give you the breathing space in your push to put the cabin build to bed for the winter.Until next time my friend!👍
Outsider, you are an inspiration. I’m a mechanical engineer of 30 plus years and have worked on some interesting and complex problems over the years requiring computers and other forms of sophistication. But your application of some of the most old of Egyptian era principles of levers, pulleys and leverage is fantastic. Wish all of our modern youth could see what you are doing. Very inspiring. I’m in awe of you and your father.
This is epic. Five generations from now, your descendants will be gathered in the cabin talking about how you and your dad built it with your own hands. My very best to you and Papa Outsider. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
I sighed deeply as you pulled the tarp over the roof and it enclosed the cabin for winter. What a wonderful goal to have reached for this year. God's richest blessing on you and your family as you prepare for the Celebration of the Birth of Christ.
The way you & dad have adapted & overcome is outstanding. I am truly blessed watching you all working together. Thanks for continuing to share this adventure with us. Praying you all as well.
I take my hat off to you and your father, sir. Fighting a deadline is never easy, and where snowy weather sets that deadline, then it is naturally unpredictable. I am amazed by the self-weight of your roof construction, and your method of constructing it, and I wish you and your father well.
I am thoroughly impressed with you and Senior Outsider’s fortitude to get this done. Amazing work through all types of environmental elements. Great Work!
I always seem to smell onions when i play your videos...but i cant stop. This is the stuff dreams and legends are made of! Thanks for all all of you do! 👊🍻🐈🔥🔥🔥
Your building skills are impressive but your positive attitude and determination are truly inspiring. Congratulations on this milestone! Say Hi to your Dad.
Although I don't understand this kind of build, it is a momomentual build. I wish I could still do the same. At 73, much too much for this shell of a man. Many memories, happy and sad have gone into this build and I wish you the best
I am so proud of you both. I don't see how you could work so hard in such awful conditions. I am pleased you were so careful but I did hold my breath a few times when you climbed the ladders or stood on the snowy boards. A job very well done. Congratulations!!!!
Thank you for sharing your skills and personal journey with your cabin build. It has been a inspiration and blessing to watch your journey. Your video skills have reached a new pinnacle of perfection.
Oh my gosh! Such determination. I can't even imagine how slippery those beams were and how cold you two must have been. Congratulations on a job well done. At least your rafters aren't going to be in a big frozen pile on the ground all winter. You may even be able to get an earlier start come spring. Have a warm winter inside your homes with your families. Prayers and Best wishes to you both this Holiday Season.
Love the Son and Father Teamwork. Never had that kind of positive experience with my father. So happy for your experience. Be safe and get your rest. Tom in Minneapolis, MN 11/24/19
Balls of Steel right there. Working alone in freezing rain on wet, slippery timber. I worked in the woods working on a falling crew and setting chokers during High School and College. Wet, cold and miserable barely touches it. I prefer 20f and snowing to 40f and raining! We ALWAYS had a roaring fire in a burn barrel. Nothing but respect Mr. Outsider Sir. Your father obviously set a great example!
Wow Mr outsider and senior outsider, working wet and cold is no fun but y’all kept going! Great progress. I wish I was there being cold and miserable too, would love to be able do something as awesome as building a cabin with my Dad. Thank you so much for taking me along on this adventure. I pray GOD blesses you all.
Once again....AMAZING VIDEO !!....Congrats on giving mother nature the boot for a change...doesn't happen often !!....Sr lookin great as always...hello to The Mrs...drone shots at a premium !!.....rock on buddy-pal...keep up the great work !!
Dear Outsider. What phenomenal progress you have made with the cabin this year. It must be wonderful to stand inside it and look up and see a roof. Incredible engineering as well, all done with a chainsaw out in the woods. Really really impressive achievements :) These must be precious times for your dad to be with you. Best wishes to you all
All you are awesome brother my respect for you and you Dad, that log cabin will last forever 👍thanks for sharing your great project is amazing, greetings from monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽, god blessyou...
I truly enjoy watching these video's of the build with and your family I believe your Father and both have the grayest beards around LOL. I hope your Grandfather get's to be in more of them. I though it was awesome seeing him in them... Keep up the awesome build.
Awesome job. Looks great. At the risk of sounding envious and repetitive, you are truly blessed to still have your father with you. Wish you and yours all the very best for the season and look forward to many more videos. Thanks.
God Bless you and dad may god keep you safe and healthy while out in that weather. God keep the family safe and in as good of health as can be. I love the calmness of your videos. Until next time.
You must be glad to have the roof covered. You and your dad work very hard. Keep up the great work. 👍👍😉😉 Thanks for sharing. I really like the CABIN that you are building.
Congratulations! What a amazing job during such brutal weather. I am always so surprised when I see you just picking up the logs and handling them by yourself. Your dad's also doing such an amazing job right alongside you, what Memories! I want to thank you for taking the time out to film and edit you could probably get a lot more done if you didn't but I'm glad you do and share. Thank you. Keep warm and safe you don't want to get sick.
I congratulante you for such nice building approach. It looks strong and should last for 75 years. I am learning a lot from you and TH-cam since I want to have my own wood house built in coming Spring 2020. There are 2 technics (at least) This one (spacing lors and the other one which I greatly want to learn more the thight logs with no spacing between lors, THANKS VERY MUCH !
Great episode! I really like how the ridge pole and the perlins overhang the entryway side of the cabin and how the rafters hang down like long eaves. It really gives a lot of style to the home.
I have watch Shawn JAmes from My self reliance build his cabin and now I am enjoying this sweet build taking shape. I am learning a lot watching it. I also met an old man that build his cabin with a chainsaw and a book about the same way you fitted your logs, he harvested and seasonned his log the same way tht his shown here. He build the main building alone in 3 years ans finish the whole home in about 5 or 6 years. It's a beautiful result. I also enjoiy Mr Chikadee channel wich is way more traditional. But I learn from each guy. It's way slower to take the time than doing production home has I do for a living has a carpenter. I feel it's more refined and more true to build this way or timberframing than normal homes who are not bad but not has much caracters than those log homes!
That is a big advancement that pretty much was necessary to allow any reasonable progress this winter. Having the early arrival of Old Man Winter certainly created challenges for you and your Dad but you persevered and conquered. Now that we have returned to slightly above normal temperatures this week hopefully you’re able to get ahead of the snow and cold to ensure a successful winter season.
Looks idyllic, but I bet that race to get a cover on froze fingers etc. Good job guys - loving the steady progression. Helps me relax watching two woodsmen at their craft.
That looks amazing brother. U and ur dad make an awesome team. God bless u both and may the lord keep blessing both of u with the freedom of nature. That cabin should last at least a century. 🤙🏼
Won't it be great when you can go in the cabin to warm up and dry off, instead of leaving. So awesome to see the progress and I'm looking forward to seeing you enjoy the fruit of your labor.
Great job, with all your family has dealt with over the last year. Our prayers are with your family. Will keep watching. See you on the next video be safe.
"that's it for now" that was a lot, thanks for taking me along, what progress, pure joy watching you and your dad achieve so much together; who needs cable, it just does not compare to your channel, wishing you and your dad all the best
Awesome thing to be able to work with your pops! Miss working with mine, he's unable to do hard stuff we used to do but he does what he can and I'm more than happy to all the heavy lifting for him.
The drone footage over the entire build has been fascinating. What a difference a roof makes - even though it is temporary. That cabin infused with your love for the outdoors & your family in every inch. I hope you'll spend many joyful years there.
Thank you for another peaceful Saturday morning. I look forward for your Saturday morning video's, for a short time I can block out all of the things this world has burdened me with.
Whow!!! Really coming along !! I know you are proud of what you have done !!! Looks great . Looking forward to watching the rest !!! Thanks for sharing !!!
Another great video guys. I enjoyed every second of it. I'll bet those two cranks made a world of difference with the logs. I do wish for a few decent days of work without snow or rain. I did my share of working in freezing temps and being soaking wet all day and it sure never was fun. Thank you for another excellent video. They are among the best videos this world has to offer. Maybe you wont need those snow shovels as much now. cant wait till the next one, be safe up there.
It’s so amazing to watch you two build this cabin. Gotta wonder how many you’ve built because all of the tricks you use to pull logs up, to cut slots in them etc shows you’ve done this a bunch. Love your relationships with each other. Makes me miss my own dad. I still have my mom living with me. She turns 89 this year & I thank God for every day I get to see her. Thanks for sharing your life experience with us all. Stay safe.
Bless your grandpa that is still working, you and your dad take after him! I LOVE Watching you guys!! 😊😏

Greetings from Scotland. So glad you won the race against winter. Good feeling to know that the cabin has a roof for the first time albeit temporary.
I love your videos because they are not a faced paced montage. They show the actual work needed to do a cabin right...
That tractor cranked (25:12), and then that mini blizzard, well this old southern man (Alabama) nearly froze to death just watching. At least he can work on it. Here, it's -40 right now and it's too cold to do that kind of work.

Talk about a couple of rugged individuals !! Watching your Dad in action I can see where you get a lot of your go . Great job fella's !
What a great father/son project. It will be remembered for generations to come.
The way your calculations work out are a work of art. I was trying to invision the roof before you started . The design is spot on.
Wow that is amazing you're all ready for winter now you can work inside if you wish. Awesome job!
What you are doing is amazing, inspiring and your love for this planet, thank you, God Bless
You and your Dad make a great team. Cold, dangerous work on the roof. You make a difficult job look easy. Well done!
U and ur father must be exhausted. Great works guys. 🍻
This is epic. Five generations from now, your descendants will be gathered in the cabin talking about how you and your dad built it with your own hands. My very best to you and Papa Outsider. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Father and SON team, together an out of this world genius. Very precise and calm thinking people.
I sighed deeply as you pulled the tarp over the roof and it enclosed the cabin for winter. What a wonderful goal to have reached for this year. God's richest blessing on you and your family as you prepare for the Celebration of the Birth of Christ.

I always seem to smell onions when i play your videos...but i cant stop.

Thanks for all all of you do!

Good to see the roof rafters up and able to keep out the snow. Good work
The Lord is with you! Great story and lessons in simple physics we sometimes forget. Thank you for sharing!
You fellas have so much stamina! I'm very proud of you both. I would have given up so long ago. Admiration abounds.
Your building skills are impressive but your positive attitude and determination are truly inspiring. Congratulations on this milestone! Say Hi to your Dad.
I've been following your journey for some time now, and seeing those logs on the roof, wow.
Thanks for faithfully following along. 🙂👍

I'd call this the Spiderman episode. Outsider scampering around those logs in the cold and snow and at such heights. Heartstopping. Brilliant.
Thank you for sharing your skills and personal journey with your cabin build. It has been a inspiration and blessing to watch your journey. Your video skills have reached a new pinnacle of perfection.

I think your sawmill was the best purchase you made. Quick perfect cuts for construction and a money maker when all is finished!

All you are awesome brother my respect for you and you Dad, that log cabin will last forever 👍thanks for sharing your great project is amazing, greetings from monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽, god blessyou...
To build a cabin is unique but to film it as good as you do takes immense patience. Congratulations my friend!
It takes special people to be able to do that kind of stuff that you and your father are able to accomplish. You are blessed.👍

barnacmongars - Google *richard proenneke* & watch him build his cabin in late sixties early seventies in Alaska. It's fascinating.
Thanks for allowing us to come along for the ride.

Now that we have returned to slightly above normal temperatures this week hopefully you’re able to get ahead of the snow and cold to ensure a successful winter season.
Years ago, I was interested in building a small cabin... In spite of all the obstacles, you are demonstrating that it CAN be done. Thanks very much!
20:00 the layer of snow on the hat your dad wheres is probably the biggest smile I've had in a while! You guys rock!

Excellent DIY series on one of TH-cam's best channels. Many generations of family and friends will enjoy this cabin once it's done.
So happy to see you be able to place the tarp on the roof. Now you will be able to work inside during the winter.
Glad you got that squared away for the winter.👍
Tremendous effort beating winter ! You can rest a little easier now that you have something over the rafters. Great job!
Great privilege to enjoy the journey with your dad 👌🏻
I applaud your hard work, engineering and design. Dick Proenekke would be proud.
It's always good to have the resources and tools needed to get it done... congratulations on the progress great vid
Great job, with all your family has dealt with over the last year. Our prayers are with your family. Will keep watching. See you on the next video be safe.
I bet that felt good to get the tarp up! Well deserved! Such hard work. God bless you and your family.

Thank you for taking us along on your wonderful project.
Awesome thing to be able to work with your pops! Miss working with mine, he's unable to do hard stuff we used to do but he does what he can and I'm more than happy to all the heavy lifting for him.
Words can't describe how awesome this is. Even the word "awesome" can't.
That’s putting the pedal to the metal. You and pop got a lot done man. That’s great!
You and your dad are BEASTS!!!!!!!
Fantastic job, working in those conditions is a thankless task, well done to you both.
Well done, you and your dad are awesome!
The wait for the build to get to this point was long, and for you, arduous. But WELL worth the wait. God bless!
You guys have a lot of determination to work high up in that kind of weather. Great job it's really coming together nice.
This would have to be one of your best videos... Thanks so much, great scenery, great work in the snow.. beautiful!
All respect for great family teamwork , please go ahead
Wow totally envious of your cabin and abilities. The snow shot near the beginning was amazing!!!!
outsider! You do the best commentary among all the youtuber s on it now. Great talent
Stay safe.
I am glad to see dad helping today...you won't have to freeze alone. God speed.
Wonderful video series. You and your father certainly know what it means to put in a full day's work!
