My 13 year old autistic son and I just discovered your channel and he decided to build himself a small 'cabin' on our farm. He plans to make it a guest house for his grandmother as she visits often and stays for weeks. Living with Asbergers, he has 100% recall and retains what he sees and reads, so he's reminding me of the angles you cut and how you did a few things, as he's now catching up on your cabin series lol. He plans on using pallet wood mostly, as his budget is tight and trees are a luxury in our part of rural Texas. He's doing odd jobs to earn money for screws, nails and other supplies and relying on the kindness of strangers for free pallet wood. We appreciate your content and can't wait for more cabin vids!!!
Hey Debbie. Your son is a man with a vision. 🙂👍 Not to mention determined, creative, and resourceful! I admire that! Thank you both for watching. Say hi your son for me. May he have a happy, and safe build!
Tell you son the best thing about building a cabin is having fun while your building.
Debbie B 💕✝️LET HIM MAKE A VIDEO OF THE BUILD , WELL SUPPORT HIM ,
This is wonderful to hear. It warms my ❤️ heart. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I hope he enjoys it, and I wish him the best, Debbie. Just make sure he knows to make it big enough for an adult to fit into.
Looking great, I am glad your Dad is helping you and that you all are doing ok after your mom's passing. God is great!
You are a damn Beast dude. Swingin' that sledge.........on a ladder..........one handed.......horizontal.......at chest level........sombody has been eating their Wheaties.
N_Nate138th Indeed!
Indeed....however when he was spent ...dad says one more....did you see the face response.....lol.....he gave er 2 more... AWSOME!!
All men used to be as him. We need restoration of faith and culture. "Revival" if you will. Another Great Awakening.
@@rconger24 ... indeed Ray !!!!.I agree %100...but good luck with that due the the young indoor computer gaming generation
@@reddog543211 And the parents basement & credit card..lmao
I'm Jealous..... Love your log home. Many memories that you will never forget building this with your Father. God Bless.
"he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers..." Malachi 4:6.
That’s dream come true at some point.
I am soo HAPPY for you that you got your cabin dried in. I've been watching your videos since you started the cabin. I was soo EXCITED that your videos are going to continue on this winter.
I don't know anything about building cabins except for stories from my grandparents. This was hard work and I love that you let us see this build
What a truly lovely person this guy is!
I'm old now and my own father was born in 1921. Almost all men used to be this way, but now these are the exception. There needs to be a restoration of faith and culture.
Ray Conger I’m old too and my father was born in 1932,sadly passed away 6 years ago now. I totally agree with you, that generation is gradually passing!
He sure is! Reminds me of times I spent w My Pops born 1929 doing projects around the house. Great memories and still creating them, since he turns 91 in March! He is not quite as active, slowed down quite a bit but still strong as a Bull for a little guy! He still has 7-9 holes of golf in him from time to time. 👍👏🏻Thanking you Lord for I am blessed!
I don't know how Canadian men stay single lol. You'll never be homeless, at least 😆
ladydi4runner No disrespect sir but, personally I don’t think a god has anything to do with it! It’s innate in us,well most of us.
Outsider, your brilliant poetic narrative and well-edited informative content will keep me happily coming back. Brava!! When your father asked if you needed help and you said, "Nah... yet added a thankyou" the ol' lady in me was proud that manners still do exist even outside!! Well done young man, well done!
Everytime it gets a bit more. Every time I am happy for you that both of you, father and son, so deals with each other. A role model for many, thank you!
Just the fact that you can spend this kind of quality time together with your father and make these memories I think is unbelievably priceless. I really like seeing a son and his father get along this well. Something I wish I could do with my father.
Your cabin is coming along REAL good. I like your progress. Plenty of room too it looks like.
What a wonderful accomplishment a temp roof and beams secured. My next summer this feat of love and hard work should be totally enclosed and move in time??? God bless you all.
The last scene brought tears to my eyes. The love between you and your father is so evident in this scene. This is what the cabin will look like when it is all done. Warm lighting, good food , fond memories and love.
Ran across your videos couldn’t stop watching them enjoyed them very much tell your Dad hello for me
Hi Cat Hello to you as well THKS
Thanks for explaining the roof system! I have never met you but the two of you warm my heart seeing you build that cabin together. What great stories you'll be able to tell your kids and grand kids.
Its really sweet how both father & son are working together. Its heart warming bless
I love your journey! Reminicient of late 1970's when I built a 20x20 log cabin with a sleeping loft and cenral fireplace in the Appalachian Mountians in Southwest VA. It took me ten years of working on it for two to four weeks every summer. THE PLEASURE IS IN THE PROCESS!
I've enjoyed your videos for a long time, but today I finally saw your vision, your home and to see you sitting in it, eating with your Dad was perfect.
Thank you for sharing.
What a beautiful thing to see a father and son working together to build a family cabin in the back woods of Canada!
Thank you for another great video. I’m really appreciating your use of drones, from the obvious to the subtle. It must be a huge morale boost to get to this point in the build. Keep up the good work.
Best channel on TH-cam.......a simple, honestly shot video graphic treasure👍🏻👍🏻
With the amount of engineering n support materials you are building with... This build will be standing for another 200 years! Awsome job! Thanks for sharing! ATB👍👍🔨📐😎📐🔨👍👍!
you have a very supportive father. you are loved. hugs from us here in the Philippines
STRONG Build, you'll be passing your log cabin down to many generations to come
I moved my mobile home from Las Vegas to the high desert in the late 80's and it snowed the next day. The learning curve for surviving and dealing with rural life was pleasantly high, but the friends I made is priceless. A friend made me the best SPAM and egg breakfast with coffee made in a 1940's percolator that same morning. I get those same good feelings and memories when I watch your channel. Your channel is a success due to good story telling, honesty, and excellent editing.
People like me, want the simple life and I believe there are many more like us, that want the same things. If any, you inspire a survival mindset when things do go, Down.
Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and your family. Your parents raised a good, Man.
Not many channels do I wait for with anticipation but yours is one of them. Thanks, great content. And as for Harry's, I have been using their system for a couple of years now and will use no other. Great razor, smooth shave and I don't have to go to the store for more blades. They are on their way regularly several times a year. Again great channel.
Harry's razors aren't only great for men though! If your wife or girlfriend gets her hands on yours, you're going to find yourself buying more of them, trust me on this! 😂🤣
@@jessica3548 I know, already have.
I’m not knocking the incredible work a carpenter can do with so many different tools, but this guy is literally building a house making 90% of his cuts with a chainsaw. So impressive
i remember.. my granny used to keep a small ceramic tile with (GOD bless Our Home & all who enter) written on it.. in our old home. would be nice to have such a carved wood plaque at this dwelling :)
Stay safe.. stay warm.. GOD BLESS.
Beautiful idea.
The Outsider keepem coming. Almost hate the thought of you finishing, but know it’s gonna be great. One quick question, where did you get those cool lights. I apologize if you mentioned this and I missed it.
@@craigcoish9849 No worries, I didn't mention it in the video, but I did include a link to the lights in the video description. All the best!
Ohhhhhh CANADA !!!!! Nice job !
You, your father, the past that brought you here and the future of the cabin and all of you and your family... a beautiful cross point to celebrate of what has become and will come off 💖
Great video. The work on the cabin is slowly coming to an end. Its really shaping up nicely. God Bless my friend.
I never cease to be amazed at your artistry and craftsmanship both with amazing videography and woodworking. I've enjoyed
this channel so very much. Thank you for sharing with us. God Bless you and your dad and family.
You and your dad are the boys, respect to you both and your families, your skill level is above and beyond anything else on TH-cam bro. I’m sure there will be many family memories there, enjoy you deserve it.
Always a pleasure to get another episode. Thank you.
Tell your DAd he is my hero! What a guy!
Than you Larry, much appreciated, even though I am just a regular guy! Cheers!
I’m a retired grandmother. I spent long weeks as a child on my grandmother’s 146 acre farm! I wish I could have built a cabin like this on that land! It’s just perfect and beautiful! ❤️👍
That close up shot "shaving" the log on 6:37΄, was a very clever metaphor of the Harry’s synonymous. Good job on all levels.
Thanks for this video! It's so pleasing to see it in this state after all these years. Daniel
Priceless moments my Man, I hope to be the father of that story someday, make sure you take a step back every now and then and realize how special and precious these moments you have captured and shared with us. I am learning from you two about the what and how a man lives a life worth living, all I can say more is THANKS.
What a great episode and what a great final scene. All of heaven rejoices at the bond between father and son. As does this member of His kingdom. The cabin looks great. Congratulations on getting it weathered in!
Ah man! I am SO thourghly enjoying this father/son build. It's cool to watch 'boy' doing his thing, but when the 'old man' is there_ SO much better for this-here "Old-fart", as it brings back so many good memories.
Thank you Thank you Thank you and may this build end with many-a-great memory for you, young man.
Lots of hard work. Good job. 👍
Congratulations on getting your cabin dried in! Great to see a father and son working so close together. Thanks for taking the time out to make another amazing video.
Have really enjoyed this series on the cabin, enjoy getting to see you and your Dad spend some time together working on a common cause. Please enjoy these times indeed, time goes bye quickly indeed.
Looks great!!! What memories you and your farther will enjoy for the rest of your lives! Enjoy the journey!
You can both be so proud with the work that resulted in such a cozy scene. Nice work.
Don’t comment to much but been watching for a while. This was one of my favorite episodes due to building a roof my weaker point. Also I’m sure you and your dad test each other’s patience at times. But he’s there helping and that’s way more then some of us ever had, very lucky like that you are.
11:45 there is a little heart in the knot just as the love of the craft was happening, amazing!
Congrats drying in the cabin! That is one big milestone.. Your mom would be very proud of you and your father on that achievement.
The video quality, the cabin, the bond between father and son, all beautiful :)
Your mom would be so proud of what you and your father have done, keep up the great work.
Thank you my friend. 🙂
You have come along way to be dried in. Way to go!
Hope your tarp holds the heavy snow and ice! God bless you man!
It should at a 45 degree roof angle! That poly is very slippery!
GREAT winter drone shots :)
Great progress on the cabin. It is a joy to see you and your father working together.
Making progress. Looks cozy sitting there having your supper.
Another great video. Thank so much for your hard work and bringing us for the ride. Hugs from Halifax
Enjoy this time with your dad, the memories are priceless and when you get older you'll recall them with a smile and a warm heart.
About 15 months ago I stepped on the edge of the sidewalk and broke my ankle. My foot was twice it's normal size and black and blue. I can imagine how nice it is to have a flat, dry surface to be working on after what?? Two years trudging through mud? Congrats. Huge milestone.
I really don't know what I'm doing watching your videos. I live in Italy and wouldn't know what to do with a cabin, but you make it so much fun to watch. You can tell you're hard workers, not everyone would work under the rain or with the cold winters. Great work. I am just subscribing. And thumbs UP
she's coming together!! It looks beautiful! and the best part is that its going to be full of memories of you and your father
Good to see your Dad with you. He's such a big help! Canadian bacon with maple syrup, eggs, and hot chocolate....can't think of a better way to celebrate the cabin being dried-in!! 👏👏👏 Again, the cinematography was spectacular!😍👍👊 P.S. The lights, strategically placed throughout the cabin, were a nice touch! 😊
I got our flat roof project dried-in just in the nick of time as well. It's a wonderful feeling! Now you can do some things indoors over the winter which is our plan as well. In the spring -- git'er done!
amazing work guys ....your lucky to do that with your dad .i didnt realize how much i love and miss my dad until he was gone ..
Some tarps hung on couple walls and fixed to make a room, bed , some heat could almost stay till weather gets bad . Looking real good. Can’t wait to see more
Many Blessings as you go forth on the Construction of your Beautiful Log Home,Be Blessed !!
Who the heck is giving these videos a thumbs down???? This is the purest channel you’ll find.
Best video on TH-cam....keep up the fine work and thank you!
Awesome!! As it was stated earlier, the Father &Son bond is priceless! Great work
What a wonderful video.. You and your dad are so inspirational.. I love seeing the friendship you have...
Such an amazing cabin and so cool you are creating this with your Dad. Great videos.
I’m so happy for y’all to get the cabin to the this point, I just have to ask how is your wife doing keeping her in our prayers.
Until next my friends take care and god bless
Amen
It is beautiful with the lights!
The cabin is starting to come together very nicely now. I would also like to say that so are your filmmaking skills. Shots are very well laid out filmed. Also sound track goes nicely as well. This series has been a joy to sit and watch. I look forward to see you and senior get into the finer detail work in the interior .Best wishes , Jim.
Man I gotta say, those slow-mo shots where you drop the camera are really satisfying for some reason. Like the one at 22:15
What an awesome build you two have going!!
Yet another top-notch video on your great cabin construction. Looks fantastic.
Great to see another video this morning. Thanks
You and your dad have certainly come along way from the start. That must have been a very satisfying meal together. Great channel and always enjoy your journey. My new "Outsider" flashlight works great - super bright and throws the light a very long way into the forest. Cheers and all the best!
It’s coming along big time. Looks great guys. Congratulations on being dried in now.
I'm your 941,000th subscriber.
Great work. I'm hooked on your Vids. Praying for you and your Dad.
Looking good, Great to see the two of you spending time in the woods.
"he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers..." Malachi 4:6.
Gotta love a man of his word... You did not forget the maple syrup!
Once was enough. Never again. 😅
I am epressed by your prodject in the wilderness. I am a retired norwegian logbuilder but we use to fit logs together with a tighter knot, also fit the logs longside tight , so I am exited to know the chinking which will be needed. We also use to drill dowels about any 2 meters space becauce of twisting in the long term. For this size of building I do it much easier with 3 logs carrying all the weight of roof by logbuildt short walls. This take shorter time, and require less materials. But I am amazed by the solid construction. In winther we can get 1 meter of snow, but my roof have never affected, even with 6 inches of soil and grass on top. I hope the sink depht is enough when sinking, over windows and doors, because logs sink a lot within 5 years. Fantastic job , i hope to know about the building a few years later. I take of my hat for your skills.
another wonderful episode in the cabin, brings me to a time- quite a few years ago I tore down most of the outbuildings on the old family homestead/ farm, my grandfathers's old toolshed spiked together with rough cut (nominal) lumber built in the same fashion as your cabin-I could not physically rip that roof apart, the old building was falling down but that roof, the weight of it tied together made it almost impossible for me to dismantle by myself, so I burnt it where it fell minus the walls, it was really moving and heartfelt for me to watch you put those braces in place
THANKS!!! I've been looking for a reason to go to HARRY's for my blades. I'm boycotting GILLETTE and all other P&G (proctor and gamble) products. I have about 2 more blades left, so this opportunity to go with HARRY is perfect timing! Thanks. It's a GREAT DEAL!!!
Looks huge inside. Good job!
Thank you for another sharing of you and your Dad’s great adventure.
Love how the cabin is coming out. Awesome work! Cannot wait to see it finished
Wow. What an achievements you made this year. Love to see how you work is progressing on. I admire you compassion for this project even after your losses and troubles. Keep going strong. And i which you all the best for this wonderful time of the year.
Really enjoy your videos! God bless you and all of your family, can't wait till the next video!👍🏼
What a great relationship you two have.
Well it's been a long road - but so excited to see the the cabin reach this stage - thinking back to when you were manipulating rocks around for the foundations seems a long time ago. This is so great to see where you are now.
GREAT JOB GUYS!!! I love the way you two work together. Its really a great partnership of father and son. You deserved that meal together, a real bonding time after a hard days work! Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What a great video. I'm so happy that you'll have these memories with your dad. God Bless & Merry Christmas
"he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers..." Malachi 4:6.
Been watch since the beginning and it’s really satisfying to see your cabin finally dried in. Congrats!
May the work a head be safe and steady. God Bless.
I am truly enjoying the build..... Thanks for taking us along..
Your getting her together! Looking amazing
yes gang he s not lying about Harry's products I have been using the razors for two years and by far the best close shave on the market. and good thing about it also now Walmart sells Harry's razors and refills so you buy the same day.
I have been watching all of your cabin building efforts with great interest. Be safe, and successful.
Mr Outsider-
You are a surgeon with a chainsaw! Excellent skills with your cutting, I’m impressed.
I have pretty much the same comment. That's almost finish carpentry . . . With a chainsaw! Great work, great videos. Merry Christmas to you and your Family, thanks.
Hello from Pennsylvania ! Thanks so much for another great video. It was nice to see your dad there sharing this great experience with you. When I look at the inside of your cabin, I feel like I am looking at part of a Cabela's show room. Drone work was amazing as always. What a beautiful area you choose to build in. Keep up the good work and can't wait for your next video.
Big Thumbs up Outsider! It makes me happy that you have achieved this goal in time this year! It`s great!
