      The Intex sand filters aren't that bad in price compared to the other brands.

    I just bought one if these filters..thank you sooooo much for the easy instructions..I haven't opened the box yet so didn't know I had to put the dang thing together..have a question I don't have a plug close to the pool is it okay to use a heavy extention cord to the closest plug

    • @DunnDifferent
      @DunnDifferent  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I’ve read you can use one extensions cord but shouldn’t use more than one chained together. I’ve had mine on an extension cord all summer with no problems. Hope that answers your question. Good luck to you!

    I"m so confused. My intex pool only has 2 wholes. All the videos I am seeing with these sand pumps have 3 wholes. What am I missing?

    • @DunnDifferent
      @DunnDifferent  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You’ll need to use an adapter/splitter to get into that one hole or cut another hole. There’s a kit on Amazon to cut the extra hole.

      @joshuaweber7341 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    • @djd31289
      @djd31289 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You only need 2 holes. One for intake, one for outtake. He uses 2 for intake, one for his vacuum, one for skimmer. You don't need to.

    Great video. I have the same filter, but the basket part leaks at the top ring and I have air . Anything you can suggest

    • @DunnDifferent
      @DunnDifferent  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve had to replace the large rubber oring on the lid, the one on the twist valve on the lid, and the ones on the side at the beginning of every season. The crack and break fast. If that doesn’t work you might need a new lid.

    How many pounds of sand did you use for your pump? I just ordered the same one and was wondering how much sand to use.

    • @DunnDifferent
      @DunnDifferent  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pump instructions calls for 75lbs but the Clorox sand I used says to cut that in half. In actuality I used right at 50lbs.

  • @Kidssoccervids

    How much sand did you pour in there? What size pool sand bags are those bad boys 🤷

    • @DunnDifferent

      I think it was 35lbs a piece but can’t remember exactly.

    Can it be the sand that i used to level the ground, or is a specific sand for filter only?

    • @DunnDifferent
      @DunnDifferent  ปีที่แล้ว

      The sand for filter use is sorted by granular size. To big and it will clog up the system, to fine and it will pass through the system and into the pool. It’s pricey but you never have to change it. Just backwash it regularly and it will do its job for a decade or more.

      @@mariamartinez-rr5ss thank you for finding and watching them!
      Any academy, Lowe’s, Home Depot or pool store should have the filter sand you need. I don’t use a salt water system so I have to use a floating chlorine dispenser that I fill once a week or whenever it runs out. You can buy those at those same stores as well.

    Did you not add water when putting in the sand? It state to pour some water for a cusion effect then add rest of sand.

    • @DunnDifferent
      @DunnDifferent  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I’m pretty sure that’s not what the filter manual or sand directions said but I could be wrong. If so that would be a pretty vital step I left out. I’ll check and report back.

    • @DunnDifferent
      @DunnDifferent  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. It does say to add some water before adding the second half of the sand. I’ll make sure and update that in an upcoming update video.

      They should just slip over the small piece of tube connected to the pool and then tighten down the hose clamps.

    What was the exact skimmer you got?

    • @DunnDifferent
      @DunnDifferent  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s titled “Above Ground Pool Deluxe Wall Mount Automatic Skimmer” on Amazon. It’s 27.99. To be honest I don’t use it because the it never a stays in place. The mount for the frame always slips and then it ends up sucking air and starving the pump. The only one I would buy now is the one you have to cut a hole in the pool for and I don’t want to do that so I just hand skim everyday now.
