Works better than I expected. I feel really warm water coming in from the pump after it goes thru the solar mat. We also use a solar blanket which works great.

I have the Oval Bestway power steel 18 x 9 x 48, the same as yours I think. I’m buying the same pump in 12 inches but is it completely compatible or did you have to change out some of the parts in order to connect it to the pool? Thank you for your help 🙏🏼

@@Upgradetech I have the same filter and for some reason when I run it in filter mode there's pressure for a little bit, then pressure drops and I see air in that little clear leaf trap. It sounds like it's struggling to suck in water. Pump is brand new. I backwashed, rinsed and checked for leaks so I'm not sure what Else to check. Any help is appreciated.
@@adiddle23 You need to add a plumber's tape to the main connections and make sure the internal ring hosting the sand isn't damaged

Nice video, I have a similar set-up. One advice, get rid of the intex skimmer and get the Hayward rectangle skimmer. It will require cutting of the liner but the end results is well worth it.

Just setup this same filter and followed the steps you done in this video but I noticed the pressure gage didn't move at all any ideas to what I've done wrong
You might have air trap or make sure the seal around the sand area is right also
Ok it's tight so make it tighter I was thinking bout that cause I went out and checked it and it was barely in the green like right on the green line. Also do my lines need to be high up instead of just hanging
Now that you've had it for a while, any chance you can do a tutorial on each of the functions? I'm having issues on mine where I run it, on filter, but saw some dirty water being pumped back into the pool.

How can I get my pump to go into the red when I back flush and my strainer is not swirling like yours how do I fix both of theses problems
Check if you line have any leaks air leaks that is a big issues also the sand you have must be very thick to cycle the water smoothly chakc on all of them to see if you missing a oval ling also inside the sand cover.

I try the solar heater and its junk because it waws only heating 4-5 degrees but Ill keep looking for one.
Why'd you pull the two B lines out the pool? You had a shutoff built into the Y fitting.
And why'd you cut out actually changing the fill valve??

You might need adapter because the pool makers make change every year. I was able to add this to a Bestway pool with one adapter.

You say its quiet, but the engine makes a lot of noise for a neighborhood, I would advice caution.

In my local online shop there is a special offer on this pump and, well, I wouldn't like to buy a pump that is only good for the kind of pool you show here...
Hi! I ordered same product. Is it okay not to use that extra small valve for air? The one that has a cap. The one that you said will put more pressure? Does the pump and filter still works even if it is closed the whole time?
This is to remove any air bubble in the system, test to see what work better for you.
@@Upgradetech I am going to use this same filter for my pool. It is a cement pool but half of it is above ground. I am thinking of ways how to still be able to use the valve since I will be burrying in in the cement. Can I put an extension pipe on it so it goes higher than the cement? By the way my pool is probably smaller than yours. Its round and the diameter is 2.5 meters. The height is 5 feet.

I don't have any protection to the element and it working ok but as long as you protect the control panel it should be ok.

Hey I was think about getting this for my pool and was wondering if there was anything separate I need to buy for it.
Depending on the holes in the you might check the size fitting first because some pools are different on the intake and out.
I hope somebody’s listening, but I have a question when you put the water on top of the San before you put the lid on that cylinder that is in the middle of the sand. What if I accidentally got water in there? Well that damage anything
Not sure what that would happen but if you do a back wash it should flush any particle and ssbd trap.
The number on the motor is HOURS not minutes. Just in case anyone was wondering why it's not turning off....

I have the same set-up but the flow of the water going back into the pool when on filtration mode is so weak. I have looked and cleaned everything. I wonder if my sand filter is just malfunctioning. Any help would be appreciated if you ever encountered something similar. When I just put the 6way valve into circulate its just so strong. The issue is really on filtration mode. Yours is just spitting out a crazy flow
Add water soap around all the connection to see if you have air or oval ring are damages.

Yes, I do recommend you to add chemical to avoid algae only if you live in a sunny area, Im in California and I scrumb down every other day and vacum the lower part of the pool to keep it clean.

I just bought this filter pump and thank you for sharing this video. Just want to ask, after doing the valves backwash, rinse and filter, what valve that I always use before using the pool and after using pool?
When it comes to the timer, how does that work. It said I should set mine to 5(for 5 hours) do I have to turn it on every day for it to run, or does it do it automatically? Like 5 hours on, 5 hours off and so on?
Happy 4th of July. I have an issue with my pump. I went through all the steps you provide which was very helpful thanks. However when it’s filtering the pool it stops every other day even with the pump running. I’m wondering if it got something to do with the hoses. Do the hoses have to be slack or as short as possible to the filter. I’m using double hose intake into the filter.
What's stopping? The suction? It is the filter shutting down completely?
I just installed and 18 ft intex the pump is crap upgrading I’m lost on what kinda of skimmer to get I’m upgrading the pump. Kids are tracking in a lot of debris that’s collecting on the bottom will this be enough to handle it?

Our 6 way value cover is leaking. Brand new system. The seal is in. Tightened the clamp on the housing unit as far as it can go- i don't understand what im doing wrong. The second we allow water from the pool in it comes pouring from the sides of it. Whether having the drain valve open for backwash, rinse, filter...doesnt matter. So frustrating 😩
skip the back wash and place is on filtering and make sure you added the larger seal on the main sand filter top correctly or this will be a big issues.
@@Upgradetech so I got it going❤️ it was the positioning of my hoses I think. I had everything tied up nice and neat but I think it was too high. Once I released them and let them hang low, added the plunger valves- it was good to go! Now I just gotta get the green water to clear😂❤️thanks everyone

Make sure you have water in the holes or it will not start at all, make sure all the air is out it will not work.
Make sure there isn’t any air in your system. Make sure all hoses, sections are filled with water

Thanks for this video it helped a ton! Quick question should I see water going into the clear tube off the short hoses? I think I have everything set up right and on but expected to see water coming in and out.
One end with the two hole the water goes in and the other side the water should be coming out if you don't see water coming out you might want to check the pressure and review your setup.

Yes I do remove the hole so my kids will not trip over it.

Yes the pump shouldn't be on a GFCI but rather on a dedicated non-GFCI outlet because sump pump motors can sometimes wreak havoc .

No worries I had some wrinkles also but the floor vacuum did get stuck on them and also make sure to clean well in this area algi build up here. Also make sure you don't run something shark over them like a net with sharp edges.

Great vid! Do you notice a lot of suction from the filter. It seems very minimal on ours.
Check you oval rings make sure they are place correctly and in every connection.
I have a bestway max pool with 1.25 hose. Do I need to buy any sort of adapters for the hoses for this pool to use with the filter? If so what type of adaptors do I need? I purchased a universal hose adapter... will that work?

I've just installed the same pump yesterday, and I've noticed that If I use the L-shape ring on the output connector, I get leaks. If I remove the ring everything works fine. Is it normal?
It’s not quiet. I mean, it doesn’t scream or anything, but compared to the larger INTEX models (which you can’t hear running), this one is a freight train of sound.

Hey Frank - couple questions
#1 what was the flow rate of the sand pump you installed in this video?
#2 I noticed towards the end of this video that you had an in-line pool water heater(?)
If so, can you provide the make & model of the pool heater you use and any comments on price or function or problems.
#3 In this video you said "if you have a round pool you should redirect the return water to flow in a circular pattern around the pool.
What material (adapter) would you use or recommend that I use to modify the water return? There's an end-cap inside the pool so, I am assuming you will have to remove that cap in order to install some type of elbow pipe/adapter ( BTW - I have a round 18ft x 48in)

I had to remove the heating unit because it was not helping the pressure but I did do a review on the heating unit if you like to see the model and place I have purchased from. If you do add a heating unit then you will need a strong pump.
