Your dorky joy during the Megazord intro screen made my day. I too was experiencing such nerdlove at seeing the 16-bit Zord and hearing that crunchy midi heavy metal guitar.

Back in the mid 90s I loved these power ranger games. I always liked the one on the Game Gear because it was the only one at the time where you could play as the Green Ranger!
I remember getting this when I was 9 years old. Good times! Still a fun beat em up that warrants a playthrough now and again.

This is one of my favorite SNES games! And as a plus for me, I’ve met all the rangers in this game in person except for Thuy Trang, God rest her soul. I also have met both the actress who played Rita and her voice actress, along with the actors who voiced Goldar and Lord Zedd.
SOOO many memories of this as a kid. I loved this game.
I remember working as a group manager at Funcoland in the 90s and having a really crappy holiday rush. I had finished doing most of the end of day crap by myself (because if you wanted your payroll bonus, you had to let everyone go home AT closing during the holidays to make your hours) at my home store. It was probably around midnight and I was in a crap mood. You were allowed to check out games, but during the holidays it couldn't be anything that might sell. We had a TON of copies of this game and they weren't selling, so I said what the hell. I wanted a mindless distraction to unwind.
The next day, I went in on my day off and bought the damn thing. I had so much fun with this simple, mindless beat em up. It wasn't great, but it was decent and the soundtrack was pretty badass for what it was. The fact that I was playing a decent licensed game... it was the freakin' Power Rangers, controlled decently... and there was Zord combat = made my top ten underrated SNES games.
Needless to say, the game sold fairly well at MY stores that holiday season. It was one of my top recommendations for kids stocking stuffers (cart only - used) and I had all of my teams play it so they'd recommend it too! :)

I didn’t know about that yellow ranger, and had to look it up. You were right she died in 2001 in a car accident.

Omg I remember getting this game for my birthday when I was 7 years old. I pooped my pants from excitement when the intro played.
Incredible playthrough you did Erin on the game Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for the SNES it’s one of my favorite game I ever played from my childhood back in the 90s.
I used to play this all the time. I was real into Power Rangers, had all the toys. My favorite were the flip-heads where they go from unmasked to masked & the Megazord. I also had the cards & VHS tapes.
For a birthday, my parents end up taking me to a live Power Ranger show where they're in costumes talking & fighting on stage for about an hour. I completely forgot about that till now.
I never had the flip heads, but my friend did. And a live Power Ranger show sounds absolutely insane, haha. That rules.
Sadly Thuy Trang (the actress who played Trini) did die in a car accident in San Francisco in 2001. In happier news, this video kicks ass! It was such a blast watching you play this underrated beat 'em up.
Wall jumping is always satisfying AF. The only game where I didn't enjoy wall jumping was Super Metroid, but that's only because I could never quite figure out how to do it well consistently.

The sadder part was that Jason David Frank’s brother, who also played a character in the series, also died around the same time, so he was not able to attend Thuy Trang’s funeral. Thuy was the only original ranger I never got to meet. I’ve met Jason Frank 6 times. As for this game, yes, it is very underrated, and I’m happy to say I have beaten it with no deaths. I may record a video for ?TH-cam soon doing a no death run.

Thuy Trang (Trini) passed away in 2001 in a car accident. Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly) and David Yost (Billy) spoke at her funeral.
I Mastered this game when I was a kid it was so much fun and I always used all the rangers I almost gave myself carpal tunnel syndrome I was mashing the buttons so fast but you have to in order to master this game and do all the tricks in time I tell you my hand was starting to hurt after a while but I played and beat the heck out of this game so many times you wouldn't believe and I also had the movie one.
Gawd I love this game. It's so simple and, for some reason, is one snes game I can always come back to. It's got that mindless fun feel like Lego games have. Although there is a few neat little things like wall jumps and each ranger having a secret weapon attack. The Skeleton guy in the first stage was called Bones (I'm sorry, i know you said you don't care what his real name is). All the villains were from the first few episodes of Mighty Morphin'.
Music is so good to. Was done by Kinuyo Yamashita who most know from Castlevania. Can really hear them rock vibes in there too. Would totally buy a vinyl of this game's soundtrack.
Have you played the games based on the 1995 movies? The snes one is like this but I find it way harder. The Mega Drive one is full on Streets of Rage clone but actually covers more stuff from Season 2 of Power Rangers than the film... which is probably for the best.
Anyway, sorry for taking up all your time. i like this game far too much.
You were so close to beating the final boss. I remember spending at least an hour on that guy once. He's a jerk and I hope he gets scurvy or something!

YAY! The picture looks dope af on the Super NT Mini. My order got shipped, yesterday, so I can't wait to start playing it. Thank you again for the new video, Erin! It's a little odd that all of the have the same body type, in the game. This game should have had Tommy as an unlockable character. He was badass. The theme song, especially in the title screen, was one of the most hype theme songs of any 90's show. You're really close to the 4K sub mark. That's awesome! Keep it up!
P.S.: For next Halloween, you should definitely be either the pink ranger or Batgirl (Don't worry, you won't have to dye your hair to be either of these characters (even the pink ranger, since you wouldn't really be unmasked), haha), and the second stage really reminds me of Shadow of the Ninja (It didn't have wall-jumping, tho, and the final boss of that game was impossible), with the fight against Ganon, a little bit, in the Legend of Zelda (NES) (That'd be a great game for either a video or a live-stream, one day).

I don't think the White Ranger was out in time for the videogame, but he was my favorite. I think that was 1995, so I would've been 11 years old lol time flies!
His name was "Bones" he was a very early monster from season 1. Not to be confused with another skeleton villain who would become a regular in season 3 " Rito Revolto" aka Rita's brother hes the one who destroyed the Thunder Megazord and White Tigerzord .

I feel like the game designers were big Monty Python and the Holy Grail fans. Every boss battle is basically the fight with the black knight. Just loosing body parts until it's just a head trying to attack. Also I totally want to see you get gas for your car now just to see you do a power ranger victory pose. Not going to lie, I'd 100 percent cheer you on.

I used to love that show when I was a kid. I'd Played the fighting version and the movie version on Sega Genesis. But no disrespect, I've heard of the SNES version but I'd never played it. My favorite ranger of all time is the black one. I would like to try it out one day.

I owned this game as a kid. I'd ALWAYS use a different ranger for each level.
I now have all 3 Super NES Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Games.
In case you're curious to know what the monsters' names are for each level, they are:
Level 1 - Bones
Level 2 - Gnarly Gnome
Level 3 - Eye Guy
Level 4 - Evil Genie
Level 5 - Night Ninja
Level 6 - ??? (The only one I'm not sure)
Level 7 - Cyclopsis
The Level 6 boss is Mutitus and Lokar
Thuy Trang, the actress who portrayed Trini, died in September 2001. That's probably why most of us don't remember it that vividly, because it was in such close proximity of time to other events of that month, that it would have been vastly overshadowed.

I never really got into the series, because it was after my time - did catch the odd episode of Voltron, though - but this does look pretty good. It reminds me a little of Mazin Saga Mutant Fighter on the Genesis, because it switches between Brawler and Fighter, though this does it a bit less consistently. I agree, too: wall jumping is awesome! It's fun in Ninja Gaiden, it's fun in Mega Man X, and it's fun in real life. I used to work in a stock room, and we only had one ladder, affectionately named Old Rickety; it was much safer leaping back and forth between the shelving units like the illegitimate lovechild of Ryu Hayabusa and some kind of coked-up flying squirrel. Of course, this was before OSHA was a big thing, so you probably couldn't do that sort of thing in today's workplace.
As for video game music, I have a ton, and I do listen to it in my car, sometimes. I usually rip and process my own, but that's a lot of work; I want to say that Zophar.net has MP3 versions of their soundtracks now, but don't quote me on that.

I didnt have this one, I think I was out of my power ranger phase when I got my Snes. However I remember my cousin having the Power Rangers fighting game for the Sega, and that was a lot of fun.
Fun fact you can shoot the bow if you hold ⬆️ while attacking. That’s the coolest move in the games. Second is Billy does a twirl!

The Skeleton is called Bones. All the fights take place in the park and in a quarry on the show, but there are no levels for those locations.

Your thinking of the full version of the "Black or white" video for the panther scene. I was too old to really get into the power rangers but i remember playing this with my nephew when he was little.
There was a ranger who killed someone with a sword, but it was deemed self defense. One of the extras, on the other hand, ended up murdering someone, and I believe it was over a boat they were going to steal.
The soundtrack to this is great, reminds me of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Natsume had a real good track record with games, and this is one of them. I enjoyed watching this, I will enjoy a part 2.

The weapon is called a morning star, the original yellow ranger died in a car accident and the red lion ranger killed his roommate with a sword. It is suggested that there is a power rangers curse.
I always loved how the Morphing Grid worked and how after taking enough damage youd just be disconnected and lose your norphed state. Like imagine getting an a$$ beating so bad you come out your clothes. 😅

Hey Erin. I just finished watching this video and I had a blast watching you play through this; since it's one of my favorite games. I commented on little things throughout the video and I hope you'll enjoy reading it and that I didn't get to wordy. That was strictly for the game so you could tell their strength level 💪. "Trolly Guy" is Gnarly Gnome. LMAO🤣.STH2 had a chemical factory. Factories Rule! 🏭 Shinobi and Mario 64 have wall jumping. Metroid has bomb jumping. Not the same and kind of annoying until you get the timing down. The Adventures of Batman and Robin is the best title you're going to enjoy on the SNES. I suggest playing and making a video on that because after that Batman video games suck until the PS3 and PS4. The weapon is basically a mace or morning star attached to a chain. The most enjoyable feature in these games, apart from the gameplay, is the soundtrack. They did an amazing job composing every single track in the power rangers videogames

I played this game back when I was around 13 or 14, and I had to hunt this game down because of how much I actually missed it. It has a kick ass soundtrack to it, too. You should try the Fighting Edition version on the SNES as well, it's actually a very good fighting type game.

The music in this game is so good! Just like the show pretty much. I grew up being obsessed with Power Rangers, still am actually lol.

Now that is a huge difference from this one and Power Rangers the Movie!!! On this one it looks like you don't get hurt by them just getting close to you until they attack you. On the Movie one if you touch them they hurt you. Plus this one you don't have a Morphin meter you have to fill to Morph. You morph towards the end or at some point. In the Movie one, you collect lighting bolts from the puddies and it fills your morph meter. I have never played this one but now am considering getting it now!!!
