  • New Santa Cruz Style 1 - Ancient Sitka Spruce & African Blackwood Acoustic Guitar Demo by Matt Chulka at Eddie's Guitars in St. Louis, MO. Unfortunately this guitar is not available at the time of this post, it sold before we could get the video up.
    "To properly introduce the Santa Cruz Style 1, it is necessary to echo the historic positioning of the SCGC PJ guitar. The parlor-style body was the pinnacle of the art of guitar making up until the late 19th century. This was the optimal size for tonal perfection. The reason guitars got bigger was to make them louder. With amplification and modern recording techniques, we can once again embrace sound quality over sound quantity.
    The original body shapes of the fledgling C.F. Martin & Co. included the Size 1, a relatively large guitar for the era. Fast-forward to the new millennium where this design is very well suited for contemporary fingerstyle techniques. Santa Cruz Guitar Company’s interpretation of this wonderfully sized instrument is in response to players’ demands for this traditionally sweet-sounding guitar. SCGC’s ability to achieve surprising volume and presence in a smaller-bodied instrument gives the Style 1 a solid position in the contemporary guitarist’s repertoire." -Santa Cruz

    Hey! Honesty=good for tone adjustment.
    Your presentations are my favorite and Matt's playing is mesmerizing. He can get good tone it seems on any guitar he plays!
    Keep it up you folks are tops!

      Matt never just "plays" a guitar...he goes deep inside it and extracts the pure essence (soul) of the guitar, then convinces and encourages the instrument to project it and release the magic tone so everyone can hear and enjoy. Matt is like that...he usually "has his way" with the instrument, and it willingly complies...pure guitar porn and I want more! :-)

    Sounds like a Kim Walker guitar with compression. That's high praise in my book.

    Curious about the insides? how is the ribbing/braces laid out?

    • @eddiesguitars
      @eddiesguitars  ปีที่แล้ว

      The style 1 is braced similar to a traditional Martin 0 12 fret.. but Santa Cruz uses a deeper body that adds wonderful bass and sonic depth to the sound.
