I am politely envious of your client who commissioned this instrument. From what I can hear, it sounds like Sitka at its finest: articulate, clean, and snappy. Congratulations on such a masterwork of lutherie.
What an amazing instrument! As soon as I started the video, I had to pause it until my wife left for work. I wanted to listen to it without interuption. I knew from your intro that it was going to sound amazing, but I was so struck by the beauty of the guitar, I was still in awe that the tone was equal to Aphrodite looks. Congratulations. I hope I live long enough to see the video where you can claim to have surpassed this one. I can't see how that could happen, this is perfection.
Man, that ancient spruce is absolutely perfect. The dark binding was the right call for sure. All of the details are incredible. Excellent design taste from the client, and amazing craftsmanship from you sir.
You hit on elegant without being gaudy! I'm milling some native wood from our farm for binding. Had to take down a big Holly and a big Cedar. Both make great binding and rosette accent woods. Love it when a Luthier is willing to use something a bit different!
That's one of the few guitars I listened to that the chord/note swells instead of decaying or tapering off. Gona be hard to top that with a top tonewood that's soo rare. Awesome job man, love your passion and heart you put into building those guitars.
I haven’t checked your channel for a while, other than sharing vids from it when folks ask me how to fix a ding, adjust a truss rod, set up unslotted pins, etc. I’d watched a bunch of vids about the ancient Sitka build and am stoked to see and hear this beauty. The tone and balance are amazing. Masterpiece work right there! Well built!
I don't believe I have ever seen a more beautiful guitar! The ancient Sitka looks incredible, the colors really accentuate each other and the slanted armrest as well as the back slant really catch the light and make it look more 3D than just a straight board. Absolutely stunning!
So awesome. You create such epic guitars and this one takes the cake. Youre work will resonate for centuries and you shoild be proud of that. Your passion shines through and is evident. Congratulations
Oh my, you have created the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen. I listen to it a second time on my speakers. The sound is not only crisp but it is alive and you can feel the depth when you turn it up. This would be a family heirloom I just became a subscriber.
full, absolute , fine, rich, authentic, warm , bright ,deep, and I could go all day . these are the words that come to mind when seeing and hearing and imagining playing and just holding this guitar. holding this guitar straight out with just one hand I bet I could feel the quality of it.. great job man
One of the coolest pieces I’ve ever come across. Sounds so beautiful! Love the wood choices. The sap wood on the sides instead of the back was a super cool choice. Glad you kept to a binding that didn’t take focus away from the main piece. Super awesome piece. Great story behind it too. That ancient Sitka is so cool, very jealous of the owner
The first thing I noticed from the first chord was the sustain! Could probably ring for days. I love the darker wood binding and accents. Gives me ideas for when I can order my guitar. Well done.
Chris the guitar sounds beautiful. Love the range and size of the instrument. Loved your playing at the end. Great to see what a very good musician can make besides beautiful music.
That complimentary binding really accentuates the top wood in a way I wouldn’t have imagined, and no abalone looks great. It’s amazing, I do hope there’s mor3 of that to come
What a truly stunning guitar! The sustain rings on forever! The top, back & sides are mega! Bravo sir!!! I love to see a true craftsman's work - amazing!
Amazingly crafted masterpiece. The sound is pleasing. Lots of attention and devotion has gone into bringing this instrument to life. The maker and the purchaser are blessed...
I can say for sure it is the most beautiful guitar I've seen in my life. That sapwood in the side kills it! Also it sounds very balanced. Some might want more mid scoop, some maybe more bass and warmth, but I think the sound suits the guitar. I'd say it has a dignifying sound.
After watching Rhet Shull’s vid “The most beautiful guitar I’ve ever played” I came subscribed, liked, looked Driftwood guitars up on Facebook to follow, this sound is amazing even just through the TH-cam video, I can easily hear the weight of the notes and dynamic’s. If you offer models that are close to par in sound as this I’d be interested definitely. Awesome work 🎶
Excellent.... As a woodworker by trade I fully appreciate the visual aspect of your choice of woods & the symbiosis of it all .... Very well executed... Wish I could see it firsthand but Thank You for sharing this beautiful creation... It definitely hints to the future for your crafstmanship... Tonality wise, it sounded really nice but again my audio capabilities from the laptop to the monitor speakers I fear probably do not convey the full spectrum of tones.... Good luck & best wishes for future creations.... Perhaps in about 5 years the customer will allow you to video an update to see how the wood has aged into a fuller response.. Cheers..
What a beautiful guitar. I really like the accents, and the colors. It's interesting that it's not a contrast on binding, and honestly it works, although contrasting makes sense, too. That inlay, wow! Now if I come across a fortune I know what I would put in there. That or I've got to learn to do it myself! And that ancient Sitka is striking with it's greyish color. And it has a beautiful sound. It's a great combination of beauty and good sound and playing guitar. Your client is going to be thrilled.
I have ADD and this caught my attention for the whole video, colour me surprised on that front. That said, that is a truly bespoke work of art. Well done.
Hey man! Great job - good to see you back! Could one of you guys chop together a little 5/6minite best of comparison to hear what your guitars sound like? That would be so cool to hear! Love your work - hopefully get to play one of your guitars one day! 🤘🤘
Not only beautiful to look at but it sounds as remarkable as it looks! You sir, are a true craftsman and you are an asset to the world of guitar lutherie! Keep up the sensational work of art that you are creating.
The sound is amazing! Beautiful lumber in that thing. Well crafted instrument but I dont care for the fret board inlay. Love the "new" headstock design.
I absolutely love this guitar! The beauty of its simplistic, yet elegant style, combined with rich tones sound like home to me. Kudos for building an exquisite work of art. I’m in ❤
I confess I’m not experienced enough to judge what you’re saying about the sound comparison with your old guitars, but I can say that it looks absolutely f**king phenomenal!
That would be the best acoustic guitar I've ever seen.... I really enjoyed every single episode of this build... At least I'm one of the witnesses from end to finish.
the fretting on it looks amazing, i don't know why but this is one of the most satisfying thing to witness on my guitars, and one of the details that makes me realise how much care is being put into crafting the instrument. The guitar looks insanely cool tho, not just the frets haha
Damn! Don’t have enough of a vocabulary to encompass all of what I’d like to say. This is what I always thought a guitar should sound like. And it’s stunning to look at as well. Truly outstanding work.
I think it might be the best-sounding acoustic guitar I've ever heard. And I'm listening to it via TH-cam over a medium-quality set of earbuds. I simply cannot imagine how *amazing* it must sound in person!!
This a fine instrument! You really hit it out of the park! One thing that I noticed is the beautiful low end articulation. When you played "crash into me," it sounded almost like it was detuned as the low end was so rich, but each note was distinct and clear. You're correct sir, this is a very special instrument!
As you showed us the tone woods and build details, I was so taken with that component I wondered if the sound could be more than the sum of its parts. Yup 👍🏻 the sound is wonderful! Congratulations! 🎉
For me, the inlay doesn't do it. But other than that, what an absolutly gorgeous piece of work! Very tasteful combination of woods, and extraordinary craftmanship? Thnx for showing! Cheers!
Man... that is a beauty. I love the darker binding on this one. Do you guys have a tone traveler? You could use it to hear what your guitars sound like more broken in before you have to part ways.
Piece of art... and sounds unbelievable, feels like should be kept in some museum as a benchmark of a musical instrument. Applause to a creator.
While the inlay is beautifully done, I personally think the guitar would be even more gorgeous without it. Stunning work
Agree. It should have its own identity and not just the eric Clapton guitar
Agree, but he's building it for someone else and not us.
I am politely envious of your client who commissioned this instrument. From what I can hear, it sounds like Sitka at its finest: articulate, clean, and snappy. Congratulations on such a masterwork of lutherie.
The best guitar anyone has ever made ? Its utterly amazing on every level. It has a soul. Its a tourist attraction. Just stunningly beautiful.
I'm only amateur but wow that guitar flies! The depth and range and sustain... it is a sonic and visual wonder! You are also a phenomenal guitarist!
Just absolutely spectacular. Made me emotional to hear it emerge at the hands of the maker. Thank all do for us!
What! Man, that is beyond stunning. I don’t typically love glossy guitars, but that is without flaw. Art that generates art.
I haven’t checked your channel for a while, other than sharing vids from it when folks ask me how to fix a ding, adjust a truss rod, set up unslotted pins, etc. I’d watched a bunch of vids about the ancient Sitka build and am stoked to see and hear this beauty. Wow this is impressive! The sound comes through really well even over video and to sound like that after 18 hours is nuts
The articulation seemed phenominal, great tone, great string to string deffinition, and it looks beautiful 🎉🎉🎉 , great job guys !!!
So awesome. You create such epic guitars and this one takes the cake. Youre work will resonate for centuries and you shoild be proud of that. Your passion shines through and is evident. Congratulations
Wow! A real work of art. Truelly magnificent looking and beautiful sounding guitar and the Clapton inlay is just stunning. Great job!
Many thanks!
I loved seeing that guitar in process. Its a unique, beautiful piece of living artwork.

Wow. Thats actually the best sounding acoustic I've ever heard. Putting one of these on my bucket list. Congrats on this Masterpiece.
Wow, if I ever win the lottery I want a Driftwood guitar. What a beautiful sound and a tasteful instrument this is. Made with love.
FINALLY!! No pearl! No ugly binding! Almost no abalone on the body! That 's a guitar with a fantastic look! 😊
Yes, but it would be even better without this fretboard "art".
@@Thomas-xs2kq Customer's choice.
@@Thomas-xs2kqagreed!
@@Thomas-xs2kqand the world would be better without your opinion.
I love all the abalone appointments on an acoustic guitar. It’s why I own a Martin D45.🙂

The color of the top of that guitar is absolutely stunning. What a beautiful instrument and the sound is incredible! Fantastic!!
Amazingly crafted masterpiece. The sound is pleasing. Lots of attention and devotion has gone into bringing this instrument to life. The maker and the purchaser are blessed...
STUNNING build and I absolutely saw the guitar before the inlays
I'm a little overwhelmed with emotion myself just watching this... that's a true 1 of 1... what a special piece...
I can say for sure it is the most beautiful guitar I've seen in my life. That sapwood in the side kills it! Also it sounds very balanced. Some might want more mid scoop, some maybe more bass and warmth, but I think the sound suits the guitar. I'd say it has a dignifying sound.
What a privilege to find that ancient piece of tone wood. And what you did with it is awe inspiring. Such a full sound. Congratulations!
That has to be most beautiful guitar I have ever seen. . I’m beyond words. Wow the sound is indescribably amazing!
God damn the finish on this guitar is out of this world
Very very elegant in a laid back way. I like it. And it sounds really good !!!!!!!
The look of the guitar and sound. How would I describe it? Absolute BREATH TAKING!
That's a masterpiece. You out did yourself.
Like a black tuxedo with just enough flair.
BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship. Beautiful sound.
Take a bow.
Beautiful sound and a beautifully crafted instrument. Very impressive. It must be hard to put down. Thank you for your video

Incredibly beautiful wood for the sound box, the color is amazing and it has a beautiful harmonically balanced sound. You have created a work of art.
Holy Toledo and a side of gravy... that is a piece of art that sounds like a million bucks. You absolutely killed it!! Stunning!!
How many ways can you say STUNNING? Just an absolutely exquisite build.
Loveliest guitar and best sustain and tone that I’ve ever seen or heard in any guitar. Total masterpiece!
I have ADD and this caught my attention for the whole video, colour me surprised on that front. That said, that is a truly bespoke work of art. Well done.
Truly a master! Totally brilliant! An object of perfection imaging the core of your skill, character and personality.
Congrats, Chris! Absolutely incredible! You knocked it out of the park on this one! It's a new high watermark for the rest of us builders as well! 👊
It's beautiful, sounds heavenly! I like the subtle vibes, and the way each element balances the others. In a word: sublime!😊
Sounds very good and responsive. The customer should be happy with the results.
Congratulations! What a stunning result.

Beautiful guitar! Great resonance and sustain! A work of art!
It sounds better than it looks and it looks unreal. The client is very fortunate to be getting that piece of art.
That guitar is absolutely breathtaking. Aesthetically and musically beautiful.
That's such a wonderful sounding acoustic and truly a masterpiece ! The note clarity and definition are stunning ! Bravo !
Not only beautiful to look at but it sounds as remarkable as it looks! You sir, are a true craftsman and you are an asset to the world of guitar lutherie! Keep up the sensational work of art that you are creating.
You are an amazing craftsman and luthier. Beautiful work of art
An absolutely beautiful sounding and looking guitar! I can see why you consider it your new high watermark. I love the way it sings!
I listened with head phones on. A super beautiful sounding guitar. I am in awe. And yes It looks wonderful too.
You do what looks to be expert binding work, but like the customer I find it can distract from the wood. This guitar is gorgeous and sounds great.
The sound is amazing! Beautiful lumber in that thing. Well crafted instrument but I dont care for the fret board inlay. Love the "new" headstock design.
I can totally see how that's going to be very difficult to let that one go. Wow.
Gorgeous! Sustain is amazing. You definitely hit a very high watermark for custom acoustic guitars.
I absolutely love this guitar! The beauty of its simplistic, yet elegant style, combined with rich tones sound like home to me. Kudos for building an exquisite work of art. I’m in ❤
If not for the fretboard inlay, this is quite possibly the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen (and heard), a masterpiece of understated elegance.
If I could play, I'd order 2!! Beautiful workmanship and the sound is Amazing!!
I bet Chris would be happy to take your order for two extremely expensive guitars, even if you don’t play! Lol
I confess I’m not experienced enough to judge what you’re saying about the sound comparison with your old guitars, but I can say that it looks absolutely f**king phenomenal!
Wow! Even if it wasn't the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen, the tone alone would be enough.
Sounded really full, nice deep rich tone but with a great high end as well. Just sounds terrific...
Should be very proud !!!
Absolutely stunning sir I don't how it's possible to build a better looking or sounding guitar.
That would be the best acoustic guitar I've ever seen.... I really enjoyed every single episode of this build... At least I'm one of the witnesses from end to finish.

Best sounding acoustic I've ever heard. By a long shot. And the most beautiful.
a stunning achievement showing your brilliance as a luthier and a player--grow that company.
Damn! Don’t have enough of a vocabulary to encompass all of what I’d like to say. This is what I always thought a guitar should sound like. And it’s stunning to look at as well. Truly outstanding work.
Probably the most beautiful acoustic guitar email I have ever seen
Wow !!! Took my breath away !!! You’re absolutely right about the sustainability !!! Love it !!!
Love the dark tones of the woods together, classy looking 👀
I think it might be the best-sounding acoustic guitar I've ever heard. And I'm listening to it via TH-cam over a medium-quality set of earbuds. I simply cannot imagine how *amazing* it must sound in person!!

Beautiful, great sounding and a work of art !!!
Incredible guitar. Beautiful hair. Wonderful craftsmanship dude, how many hours go into the fretboard inlay work like that?
Wow! What a work of art. Supreme craftsmanship. Probably the prettiest guitar I've ever.
Looks absolutely amazing. Especially as I am not keen on binding. So looks perfect for me. You may as well just post it straight to me right now.
God dayum. I am glad this guitar exists yet also sad that I will never play it.
Looking forward to playing whatever you bring to NAMM tho 😊
What a beautiful instrument. Congratulations.
Wonderful guitar, Chris... I am enjoying your passion for the instrument and for what you do.
really hard to express in words that tone is fing perfect. Beautiful guitar
Cheers!
As always, excellent guitar.
Id could listen to you talk about tonewoods for hours
Just realized you guys are in Freeport! I’m just up the road in defuniak springs! Love the content.
beautiful sounding guitar. amazing bass/'mid response with high shimmer. wow
Man... that is a beauty. I love the darker binding on this one. Do you guys have a tone traveler? You could use it to hear what your guitars sound like more broken in before you have to part ways.
The finish is truly insane, beautiful
