If you were a Luftwaffe pilot, you were likely to hear the familiar drone of a Daimler-Benz engine on a daily basis. As the primary German fighter aircraft of World War II, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 was one of the few to see action through the entire Second World War, due to its versatility and simple design. The G-6 model began production in 1943 and was the most widely produced of all the Messerschmitt variants.

Great looking 109, Cody. 👍. Like the pistol canopy frame pieces. More great work by Slam on the printing and cool looking pilot Lando.

The Best lego 109 design I have ever saw in my entire life.. it's perfect
Amazing model, the leading slat flap wasn’t actually mechanised and it was sort of kept out with a spring and when the plane sped up the air resistance would push it back making the wing smaller and increasing the speed. Well done on the realism.
I gotta say I love the lines on this model more than Dan's earlier renditions. It really captures the sleekness and curvature to a tee, so good job Cody!
Also one thing I noted off the bat was the canopy design; it's much more like the redesigned "Erla Haube" which was a larger, single piece canopy with framework only along the top of the glass. That allowed greater visibility than early Gustavs, Fredrichs, etc. However it still has the original short tail and not the later wooden tall tail, so this is an upgraded production G-6.
Hi guys, the Bf 109 looks great! The printed pieces add so much to the looks. I would love to see some custom tents in the future by the way!
The top speed was actually 425mph on the g-6 and in dives it could sustain speeds of up to 520mph before breaking apart. It was armed with one 20mm cannon and a 13mm cannon it could be armed with a sc250kg bomb-500lbs or 4 sc50kg bombs-100lbs in addition without bombs loaded you put two wing mounted 20mm cannons on it for additional firepower. This is the plane that germany top ace Erich Hartman flew and scored 364 kills. The plane was flown by germany top air squad the JG (jagdwascher) 52 flew. The G-6 like all other 109s was great at high altitude 15,000 to 25,000ft and could reach that altitude in just 20 minutes. It was used to intercept bombers.

The nose, the canopy, the wings and the tail stabilizers are fantastic but the tail looks off.

I can tell you why the swirll might be put on because when a proppeller on a plane spins it becomes invisable So the swirll is so people don't get cut open by the spinning blades (go on google or youtube to see for yourself).

Airplanes are normally included in our regular instruction books. We'll consider making aircraft specific books in the future.
Would be cool if you guys could make a decal sheet as an ad-on pack for numbers and ranks.

@@kevinjiang6019 Well if you by the book you'd get many kits, but if you buy Cody's new one, which comes out in two months, then you'd only have one kit.
@@carronade2456 yeah..sourcing the parts for the Stuka will be painful though. I'm guessing it'll be like 100+ dollars from Bricklink. I'm guessing the book will come out late August 2019?

Should I get this one since it looks so good and is relatively low on the Brickmania price scale, or should I risk it for a tank later on down the line?
Update: I bought it and it was worth every penny! I don’t plan on putting any of the stickers on since I’d rather not have wing marking rather than mess them up. It’s bigger than I expected, beautiful, and easy to build (not including the two first steps which were very confusing)!

I have an idea for add on packs: add on packs to make it look like a Romanian Air Force, Yugosavian Air Force, Swiss Air Force, Bulgarian Air Force, etc operated bf 109.
Don't forget the Israeli Air Force flew 109s too!
brickmaniatoys Also the Croatian Air Force! However there’s no need for an add on pack as they used the same camo and just had the airforce logo under the cockpit.
@@brickmaniatoys Israeli 109's have a different engine cowling since they had to modify the aircraft to use He-111 powerplants. They also mounted the optional gunpods, so that add-on will certainly be much trickier I think

This kit is out of production, but yes that swirl was a sticker you had to apply yourself.

SO! I here you guys are making a new Stuka! Can you guys PLEASE make a Ju-52! It’s a German WWII passenger carrier which carried high ranking German officers and even Nazi personnel! It was a very light plane judging by the materials and it had a distinct engine at the nose!

Great looking airplane, though it killed a lot of its pilots due to the new engine used often failing. It killed the famed Johann Marseille, the "Star of Afrika." Franz Stigler and Adolf Galland also disliked the plane and preferred their older BF-109F model instead.
With the earlier G-2, definitely. By the time the Gustav line was on the -6 variant I think they got the new engine worked out. I will agree pilots preferred the performance of the F-2 and F-4 since those were lighter (~2000lbs?)
