    Good Morning. I just got a 2010 VW Passat 1.6TDi. It came with one of those nasty Yellow lights on dash Engine light on. Changed all Glow Plugs then Coil light started flashing then limp mode. After Dynostics EGR Failure. Replaced and lights went off. Then coil flashing limp mode. Checked wiring fuses all good. Turn car off and on all good for 5 minutes then limp again driving between 1400 and 2000rpm. While fldriving quick key off on and all good. Drive at 2500 to 3000rpm and no limp mode for as far as I want to go till I drive under 2000rpm then Glow coil flashing and limp mode

    Thanks a lot. I finally found your video!!! It was the only error code that VCDS showed. The previous owner did not know what was happening and replaced the EGR and N75 vacuum valves, which did not help. Additionally, someone incorrectly connected a new 3-way fuel filter, the lid of which was rotten due to pressure, and the car was running very unevenly and was smoking abnormally because the injectors had too high return pressure!!!

      What is the point of deleting the "limp mode" ?
      Ecu puts the car into limp mode to prevent further damage when detects issues with certain components... deleting that function means the car will be running with the fault, making mode bad than god...

    I have learned my lessons with remapped cars . When this became a regular thing I have had a few cases that almost drove me up the wall to get a car diagnosed and " fixed " . Lot of wasted time trying to find faults that weren´t there and that should have been there . This video might help someone who is pulling his hair out why his car isn´t giving a fault code .

    Sometimes this workaround does not work and this can be fixed with a remap, some factor numbers are changed for the turbo and it can work with simulating a working position sensor.
    I recently fixed this way a 2.0tdi Octavia that had this issue, worked like a charm. It was also cheaper and faster than replacing the actuator.

      Which faults are being logged?

      Fair enough...
      The video below will give you an idea why I said depends on the type of actuator...
      th-cam.com/video/f1N1Cs-JLSU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iygp20yg6ZJCzJNv
      But as I said, try one way and see what happens... Just remember, it only needs a very small adjustment to change the values...
      The value should be, if I recall correctly, somewhere between 0.65 and 3.90...
      But I might be wrong, without checking...

    Hello man! I have an update.I have a Volkswagen Golf 2011 TDI Automatic with a code P2563 that comes up only when idle. I realized when the tachometer is under 1000 then it triggers it, but when i turn on the heating on car and the engine runs stronger to warm up the car and the tachometer is above 1000 then it doesnt trigger the glowing plug lamp for code P2563. When it triggers it I have to turn car off and on and the lamp is gone. What could be triggering this based on my information? I have tried everything and I am confused. I checked the measurement values and one is 2.75V and the other one is 2.7V. One jumps above sometimes but doesnt seem to trigger the code when the tachometer is above 1000m. I cleaned all sensors etc… the DPF Particle soot is 9g.

If the sensor is in the actuator part of the turbo loosing the bracket and moving the whole actuator might not be correct...what you think? Hi
      Interestingly enough, just had not long ago one with the exact same problem...
      In this case, I was not allowed to repair it, as the turbo was brand new, and the owner decided to take it back to whoever replaced the turbo...
      But, in this case, the turbo was the wrong one fitted to start with... was the garret when it should be a borgwarner... although I believe they are interchangeable...
      But either way, in my case, I tried a borgwarner sensor/actuator and the readings where fine straight away...
      I didn't try a garret sensor/actuator, has I didn't have one... but my diagnosis was the sensor/actuator faulty...

    how come it worked before and now needed an adjustment? it could be that it doesn't need an adjustment and the position sensor is faulty instead.
    if that's true, then the adjustment you did would make the sensor report the correct value when in fact it is not, but the limp mode doesn't occur because it thinks its fine?

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Where did you took the idea that it worked before?
      The car drove perfectly after that... if was just the sensor giving the correct value fooling the ecu, then the car wouldn't drive correctly...
      👍👍👍

    • @lukaszM46
      @lukaszM46 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LMAutoRepairs well it must have worked before, up to the point it didn't, right? And the reason it didn't was because it went into limp mode due to bad sensor readings?
      I can't imagine the adjustment screws loosening to throw the reading off, or the variable geometry in the turbo housing wearing so much it would throw it out of adjustment. so I imagine the sensor failed and gave bad readings even though mechanically the turbo was fine. So doing the adjustment put the readings in the correct range but in practice the variable geometry could be misadjusted.
      Not saying you're wrong, Just bouncing ideas.

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Difficult to say if it ever worked before... I mean, with the DTCs deleted who knows what was done to it...
      Now, even if the geometry is spot on, the sensor needs to be adjusted correctly... if you search a bit, you find the OEM documentation on how it is done... wich is essentially what I have done, but with a bit more technical info and blá blá... lol
      Hope it makes sense...
      Stay tuned, I have a similar situation coming on a Audi A1... perhaps the info on that answers some of your doubts...

    • @lukaszM46
      @lukaszM46 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LMAutoRepairs i had another think about this and if the adjustment is made when the turbo geometry adjuster rod is in the resting position, all you are doing is aligning the sensor reading for that position, to that position, so all is well, turbo is and was good, and the sensor readings are now showing the right thing. I still find it strange how the readings went out of whack, it would still indicate the position sensor is going bad.

      Its not exactly the same as that the regulator mounts is on top so I can’t adjust it like you did? Can I adjust the stopper l?

      I believe the stopper is adjustable on that one...
      Check live data, and adjust is accordingly.

    What limp mode ?? Symptoms

      Depends on the car...
      But usually they limit the power and the revs...
      Some also limit the speed...

      So, you either have a bad pedal, or an issue with the power supply to the pedal...

    Why do people delete the EGR because that doesn't cause any problems as long as the right fuel is used and the engine is allowed to heat up

    • @lElektrongeek
      @lElektrongeek 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cause they are using diesel for short distance travel and in cities , then the Egr is clogged so they bypass it .
