It had a recon turbo because blue smoke and new solenoid valve block unit after a week at the back of engine bay. But every time on motorway going up steeper road it dies and goes to limp mode with restricted power. No boost pipe leaks. Switch off and back on and it is okay for until happens again. This happens more when it engine gets hot. P0299 turbo charge underboost fault. What could it be ? Any help much appreciated:)

    Hi sir, great videos as usual from you! Really appreciate them
    Was hoping you would help me. I'm trying to figure out what's happening with the A/C on a Holden Commodore. Similar to the Chevrolet. At the relay it has two powers and two grounds if I'm not mistaken and when I jump the switcht the side of the relay, the A/C clutch engages but when you press the switch on the inside it doesn't engage.
    Could it be high resistance in the circuit or a failing A/C compressor? Or what else can u check?
    Thank you

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi
      I am not sure if got it correctly...
      But check the control side... wiring from the switch...if you can force the AC compressor to run, and runs ok, then is going to be something on the control side.
      Make sure that there is no other parameters disabling the AC from turning on... like a bad temp sensor etc...

    I also can not apply vacuum, but when I reconnect the hose to N75, I can see the rod of the actuator moving. So why does it do that?

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      How far is the rod moving?
      It might has a small leak, that the engine vacuum manages to move the rod a bit, but makes it difficult to do it by hand... if that makes sense...
      What is the issue you are having?
      Thank you for watching!

    • @wetytbub
      @wetytbub 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LMAutoRepairs while running the test on the N75 from vcds the rod moves about 1.5cm, and does not drop.
      I'm getting intermittent P2563 error when applying 3-4 times the brake pedal. While driving I do not see any issues, the car does not enter limp mode.
      I also tried disconnecting the hose from the vnt actuator and I plugged the hole of the hose, I pumped the brakes and it does not throw the error code, so I do suspect the the vacuum is lost throughout the vnt actuator.
      I must also mention that I have a broken, loose glow plug(nr4) in the engine, but I guess does not have to do with vacuum.

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would say that the glow plug would not influence the vacuum... just as you said...
      It looks indeed that you either have a vacuum leak, or poor vacuum from the engine/pump...
      Because it happens when you press the brake, it makes sense, applying brake means usage of vacuum, when you press the brake few times in a row, the vacuum drops that low that the turbo actuator fails to maintain its position... throwing the code...
      Ideally you would do a smoke test, see if any leaks... also measure the vacuum that the engine/pump is producing...
      Hope that helps.
      Thank you for watching!

      You might have not watched the whole video...
      I have also calibrated the new position sensor... again showed that on the video...
      The lever on the turbo was moving freely... as already said by other people, pointless to remove the entire turbo to clean the geometry, when the only problem I could found was the broken membrane on the actuator...
