  • Some other reasons that you mower might be surging is that your carburetor is very ditty and it needs cleaned really well, or your engine seals are going bed and need replaced. All videos I hope to make in the future! So please subscribe.

    Thanks for this informative video. I have a 22 year old LawnBoy gold series in perfect condition that has always had this surging problem until your advice. Many thanks.

    Duraforces were leaned way too much by Lawnboy so as to reduce emissions. The factory jet is size 37.5 . Get a Briggs & Stratton 42.5 and listen to the motor smooth out. Then enlarge the main jet with a 76 or 77 size mini drill and listen to that motor purr. Just don't overdo it because you will run into rich rough running conditions.

      That Is very true, I am planning on making a video on exactly how to do this exact procedure. Although I didn't know that you also had to drill out the main jet. Do mind if I talk a bout how to do that step in my video?

      why not just drill out the LB main jet ?

    • @danielrobert7181

      @@4cClubT Just changing the pilot jet for the larger one often does the trick. My experience is that enlarging the main jet without the pilot jet substitution will just result in an over rich setting.

      @@danielrobert7181 any idea where i can buy this mini drills i need any links? thx

      @@salemsouth I got mine tru Amazon. They are sold as a set with a range of sizes in a plastic box for a few dollars. Be gentle with the drills, never force them in as they break easily. Start with a smaller drill that will insert with no resistance at all and work your way uup until you meet minimal resistance. At that stage you are done.

    Hello, My carburetor loses fuel when the engine is running and shutting down. The gasoline flows under the carburetor. I have checked the gasket is there and everything seems tight. Is this the pointo the problem? What else can I do?

    • @lawnboyR
      @lawnboyR  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would check the needle and seat. And make sure the float is adjusted properly.

      The pieces are in place. How do I know they are properly adjusted so that gasoline is flowing from the carburetor? Can I send you a photo or video so you can see ?

    The other most common problem is the coil goes bad that I've seen.

      you have seen bad ignition coils cause duraforce engines to 'Surge" the most common reason i have seen them surging is due to some failure in the carb

    • @lawnboyR
      @lawnboyR  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have also never really had a problem with a bad coil making it surge my self, although I have heard about it. But the most common problem I have had with them is the darn carbs.

    • @danielrobert7181
      @danielrobert7181 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And you should really get the OEM (made in Germany) coil replacement. The cheap chinese ones are unreliable and will usually cause rough running due to missing a beat here and there.
