This team was truly a team of destiny considering all the close games they had. This game in my mind is what solidified Ohio State's return to blue blood status. Undefeated regular season, beat Michigan for the 2nd time in a row, punched our ticket to our first National Championship game in over 30 years.
I was there too. This was the second season of a 4 year stretch where I went to every OSU UM game home and away. Was in the stands for Trussels first year win at UM, this one, the next year when Chris Perry gashed us. Was a fun few years for sure.
So many hero’s in this game Will Smith both Maurice’s Will Allen Wilhelm Doss Nickey Grant Groom(team MVP) Krenzel Andy Groom and Craig Krenzel made more clutch plays than anybody that season a magical season I will never forget RIP Will Smith Big Ten defensive player of the year and all time Buckeye legend we will never forget these guys what a team the first 14-0 team in NCAA History
I have a photo of myself with the National Championship trophy 🏆 that was taken at a local electronics store where the trophy was displayed ! It was a magical season !
