2005 nagpunta ko sa Dubai UAE.... Dentist ako sa Pilipinas... Pagdating ko sa UAE Dental Assistant ako... From being the Doctor to Assisting a Doctor, taga-abot ng gamit, taga-linis ng clinic... I can relate nung nasa kwarto ka mag-isa... It took me 3 months bago ako nag recover at masanay sa buhay sa ibang bansa.

This is all true, IT professional ako sa PI. Pero pag dating ko dito unang work ko under the table din, as kargador sa water station mga 5galoons sobrang bigat. To cut the story short kasi mahaba rin yung pinagdaanan ko. Ngayon US citizen na ako then ang work ko ngayon is IT network administrator manager sa isang hotel. Mahalaga ang bawat oras ng trabaho mo dito. Kakayod ka talaga then ikaw pa yung driver ng sarili mong sasakyan, Wala kang driver dito kahit manager ka pa sa work mo. Hindi namumulot ng dollar dito kundi pinagpapaguran talaga. marami pa akong gusto kwento pero mahaba na yung comment ko hahaha 😂. God bless
same here IT din sa pinas, branch manager ako before sa PC express sa gilmore then may sarili ako computer sales and services store sa cavite. nakipagsapalaran dito.
Lahat naman halos na nakikita ko na manager sila din driver. Hindi lang diyan sa US. Baka owner puwede pa na may driver sila. Yung kilala ko na VP nga sa isang malaking kompaya sa Pilipinas ay walang driver.

Id been here in Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 for almost 14 years, my husband applied for independent skilled immigrant ( chem engr sya sa Japan when we applied as family) Yes, mahirap pero pagmasipag ka, may mararating ka! Iiyakan mo talaga kung ano ang meron ka sa Pilipinas! But at the end of the day, wala pa akong kilalang Pinoy na naghihirap dito! God always provide to those who work for it! Mahina din loob ko at malaki din ang takot ko pero para sa mga pangarap ko at mahal sa buhay, nagiging malakas ako at tama ka pag OFW ka wala kang choice kundi ang maging malakas at magkaron ng tamang relasyon sa Dyos. I totally agree with all the hardships, obstacles, homesickness when you migrated. I was an HR professional when I left Pinas, had to migrate because I got married. Started here in the US as a UPS packer, I was like omg I used to sit in an office but all of a sudden, I had to be on my feet all day. But like you said, you keep on striving and achieving your dreams. Now, Im an auditor of a big wireless company. We Pinoys are truly extra ordinary. I am so glad watch your blog and happy to know how you survived and remain successful. Stay safe and God bless you and your family.

@@bobbysierraVlogs my decision to migrate is marital, we got married in the Philippines and he petitioned me to live here. Not really my main choice, but as a wife, it is my responsibility to be with my husband. We dont have any kids. Bottomline, I was able to keep my head up high with all the adjustments and sacrifices, leaving a great career and my family. But this is home to me now and all my hard work paid off. Just we Filipinos are resilient and would strive for the best.

Left the Phils when I was 23... did a lot of jobs like caregiver, housekeeper, babysitter... pati yaya ko sa Pinas dati, napapaiyak dahil dati hindi naman ako naglilinis ng inidoro sa bahay tapos dito sa Amerika, naglilinis ako ng kubeta ng ibang tao... pero dito, kahit anong trabaho, may halaga, may dignity and pride... I have learned a lot in these 20 yrs at sa awa ng Diyos ok naman ang buhay namin so far... don’t give up and tama si Sir Paco: Swallow Your Pride!

Just saw rhis video paco. I can remember in the 90s, line to heaven ang pinakauna kong performance sa harap ng inuman ng tatay ko. Pero now masa Cnada na, same status nun ngsimula ka. Same iyak, samw pressure. Amd i thought, I have to reinvent myself. Learn new things. Be comfortable being uncomfortable. 3 yrs na tong video, swak sa nararanasan ko now. Saludo ako sir Paco. This is a very informative video Paco! Kudos to you for sharing your life experience to us specifically to all the Filipinos. I’ve experienced the same situation as you Paco. I’m living here now in Canada with my family. At first I’m also a TFW when I came here, but because of my perseverance and patience i got the opportunity to work here. I worked for a year as TFW and then applied for PR under Express Entry program. I used to have a white collar job back home but when i came here in Canada I worked in a restaurant as Supervisor. Sobrang hirap kasi ikaw lang magisa sa lahat. New environment and new challenges of course, but in the long run “Worth It” dahil nakasama ko na family ko dito. I trully agree with your observation. The same i here in Canada napakalaki ng tiwala and respeto nila sating mga Pinoy because of our attitude and work ethics. Sana nga ganun din ang mindset ng mga Pinoy sa Pilipinas. Kung ganun sa lahat for sure baka 1st World Country na din tayo but unfortunately it’s the other way around. :( I also love music and I do follow your band Introvoys way back 90’s. Goosebumps naramdaman ko while watching this video. Spot on lahat ng sinabi mo idol. Kahit ako nag under the table din nung una kong dating. Helper ng contractor getting paid $50/day from 8 am to 11 pm. 3 bahay nilalagari namin araw araw. 2 lang kami nung contractor tapos sakin lahat ng mabibigat na trabaho. Magtibag ng semento, mag buhat ng mga boards pang dingding. Ilang beses ko napukpok yung daliri ko habang nagpapako kasi gaya mo hindi ko rin alam ginagawa ko. May mga time din na umiyak ako kasi na miss ko yung pamilya ko sa Pinas pero tuwing maiisip ko na kailangan ng Kapatid ko ng pang baon, pang gamot ng nanay ko, punas luha at tuloy lang sa laban. Buti rin lang may mga nakasama akong Pinoy at tama ka mababait sila at matulungin. Nakaka 17 years nko dito sa America. Medyo stable narin awa ni Lord at nakuha ko narin parents ko. Salamat sa pag share mo ng story mo idol. Naalala ko nung high school..Line to Heaven ang una kong natutunang tugtugin sa gitara. Ingat at God bless!

Hindi ako 100% follower ng Introvys nung time nila sa Pinas pero nasusundan ko naman ang music nila pero tama lahat ng sinabi mo Paco when it comes to struggle living in US na kapag nalampasan mo na lahat yon ay magiging maayos na ang lahat basta magiging mababa lang ang pagkatao mo at huwag kang mamuhay ng akala mo wala nang bukas. Save money kahit may regular na pumapasok na pera. I am living in LasVegas NV and a Fil-Am US Citizen now from Laguna. Para sa akin kailangan kong mag US Citizen para pantay-pantay tayong lahat dito sa lupain nila. Good job sa naging buhay mo dito sa US at nalampasan mo ang pagsubok.
Hi Paco, Thank you for sharing your journey. Your humility amazes me. I also migrated here in the US under an H1B visa back in 1997. Even with that visa, there are employers who take advantage of foreign workers. I was assigned in Midwest, Iowa in particular. I did not experience blatant racism. I agree that most Filipinos have a good reputation as hard workers, but I still believe that there is some subtle racism. It was difficult to have a friend my age. People are friendly but I feel invisible, which can play in my favor also ( I became a better observer). I remember one writer said that if you are a foreigner, people tend to treat you as only partly humans. I believe that. The secret to not get bitter is not to take it personally. I always tell myself, it is not about me, it's about them. But there are many instances that you meet the most amazing and kindest people. We learned to cherish little acts of kindness. Cheers to you and I appreciate your honesty and humility. I look forward to your next video.

This hit me hard. I'm stuck in a day job na feeling ko gusto ko lang matapos para lang maubos ang utang, but at the same time I want my family to be in a better place. On the side, I'm also a small time musician - pag may nangailangan, saka lang nagkakagig.

Idol Paco,lahat po ng sinabi nyo about ofw, tama po. Masipag at disiplinado. I worked for 10 yrs sa UAE. The best ang pinoy. Alam ng mga employers namin na matalino, disiplinado at masipag ang mga pinoy. Tama po kayo, lahat sayo. Kapag iniwan mong magulo ang kama mo, dadatnan mong magulo. In my 10 years sa Uae, isang beses lng po ako umabsent, nagpasa ako ng medical certificate pero wala naman akong sakit. I spent my december 24th and 25th night sa work. I worked overnight for 2 days. After that umabsent ako kasi wala akong day off, need ko rin makausap syempre ang pamilya ko. Napaisip po ako sa sinabi nyo na kung ang mind set ng pinoy ay OFW sila sa mismong bansa natin ay maganda ang kalalabasan. Sa uae kasi disiplinado kami. Nasa pinas na po ako for good. Anyway salamat sa video idol, nakarelate ako, im a big fan, im 42 now and im still a big fan of yours and your band as well. God bless.

I first came here in the US and my employers are both Filipino doctors. To think that they have the money and with their status they did not have a helper/ katulong. They cook, bring the trash outside, mow their lawn, pick up their kids everyday from school, clean their house. At young age coming here, it really encourage me to be more independent and always humble. You have to work hard to get that American dream. I was in college in the early 90's when I saw your guys in concert.

This is an old vlog ni paco but ngayon ko lang pinanood ng full and i never knew ganito pala ka-full of sense etong si paco. Marami kang matutotunan sa kanya. I guess isa din ako sa mga na.scam sa bali- balita na mayabang daw si paco mahangin kaya hindi ko talaga parang ini-idolo sya or yung introvoys but now, this video really changed my entire perception of him. Siguro dahil din nga sa sinabi nya na mataas pride nya dati. So now he sounds so humble at truthful nya sa mga sinasabi nya. I guess he has learned a lot in life already. Im now a BIG fan, well actually ive always been big fan of your music pero this time im a fan of you idol paco

I found you over Jonathans insta. I was a big introvoys fan in the 90s from Cebu, watch all your concerts. I migrated to Canada in 2001-can relate the immigrant story, and carving a new life in a new home. I was never going home to Cebu, so I *work hard* to stay here and 20 years later, a life built. I sing along to every song of Introvoys, bought all the albums and music has been my constant companion

I came here 1982, I was an elementary teacher way back in the Philippines. Nag exam ako to be a teacher ng mga special children I didn't know kung anong trabaho ng isang teacher para sa mga special children. Someone told me na this and that. Anyway di ko itinuloy yung pagiging teacher sa special children, nag apply ako sa agency and they sent me to Security Pacific Bank in Glendale as a junior clerk ang trabaho ko ay sa dispute para sa Visa/Master Card Dispute, hanggang naging permanent ako sa trabaho hanggang naging Senior Clerk na ako for only $6 dollars an hour. Nag enjoy naman ako kahit maliit ang sweldo nung panahon na yun. Anyway, lumipat kami sa Long Beach at naka pag work naman ako sa Sears, Ross and Nordstrom Rack dyan na ako nag retired.You are correct! step by step kung paano tayo magiging immigrant to Citizen. I'm 68 years old now, have 5 children, 4 grand children, and 1 great grand child. Happy and contented to be a pinoy american.

I am a nurse in PI already since 1993 and I came to America in 2001. I have a hard realization that I am here by myself and I am out of my parents protection. Took me a good while to accept that this is my life long career and this is my God's calling to nurture the sick. The money and compensation aspect is just secondary. Caring for people comes first and is the true calling for me. Tama ka Paco swallowing the pride is the first step in attaining success in life. Magpakumbaba ang isang tao at siya ay mararating sa buhay.
