Well, if you look into my eyes, then you should know (If we look up to Him we find wisdom) That there is nothing here to doubt, nothing to fear (That if we are within His presence, we neither doubt nor fear) But of course, this is just an interpretation and my personal perspective. my VERY OWN meaning of "214" ay nanggaling mismo sa experience ko. February 14, 2014 sinagot ako ng girlfriend ko at exactly 2:14 nang madaling araw. Sobrang gandang timing. Kaya by the time na ikinisal kami February 4, 2021 (21-4-2) this song was our wedding song. Greatest day of my life.
Nakakatuwa isipin na instead of just telling us the story behind the meaning of 214 is dinala mo talaga kami sa perspective mo at sa mga places kung saan at papano nabuo yung kanta. Sa loob ng 21 minutes at 23 seconds na yun, for a moment, I felt like I was in your world. (baduy ba? haha) You took me to another dimension Rico. Napaka detailed mo mag kwento at smooth yung transition ng scenes with the story you are telling. I went to his meet and greet alone, I bought his CD, may pinammigay na poster. Then pumila ako to have the CD signed, nung turn ko na and nasign na nya, bababa na sana ako. He said "hindi ka papapicture". Sabi ko wala po ako kasama to take a picture. So he asked one staff doon to take us a picture. Super bait. this vlog is amazing. It reminds me soo much of my childhood and my dad. I can still remember my papa singing me this song when I was like 5 i guess? Nakakatuwa naman malaman yung story behind "214" and straight from the songwriter pa. Marami na rin ako narinig na theories before, and I guess I kinda get why Nathan thought of 2/14 like Valentine's; haha, it's also 'coz of the first working title, "The Proposal." If you recheck the lyrics, it's about a person professing love to another, saying they'll be there 'til forever. And cool enough, when the camera zoomed in on the paper showing the first line, "Am I real?" I thought, too, that that was the number of letters per syllable. I love the song, and many people I know also love it. Rico Blanco, ever since I learned that you wrote the songs for Rivermaya, I've been amazed and thought that you are a gifted songwriter. Glad I grew up listening to OPM bands, lots of beautiful memories.
More than the revelation of the meaning of 214, what I love was that Rico still visits his parents regularly. I would love to see a new album from you, a theme/movie like this where you tell stories of your life incorporated with new compositions plus old compositions (the ones got famous and ones that never been released, I’m sure you had a few). Then pumila ako to have the CD signed, nung turn ko na and nasign na nya, bababa na sana ako. He said "hindi ka papapicture". Sabi ko wala po ako kasama to take a picture. Nakakatuwa naman malaman yung story behind "214" and straight from the songwriter pa. Marami na rin ako narinig na theories before, and I guess I kinda get why Nathan thought of 2/14 like Valentine's; haha, it's also 'coz of the first working title, "The Proposal." If you recheck the lyrics, it's about a person professing love to another, saying they'll be there 'til forever. And cool enough, when the camera zoomed in on the paper showing the first line, "Am I real?" I thought, too, that that was the number of letters per syllable. I love the song, and many people I know also love it. Rico Blanco, ever since I learned that you wrote the songs for Rivermaya, I've been amazed and thought that you are a gifted songwriter. Glad I grew up listening to OPM bands, lots of beautiful memories.
