my VERY OWN meaning of "214" ay nanggaling mismo sa experience ko. February 14, 2014 sinagot ako ng girlfriend ko at exactly 2:14 nang madaling araw. Sobrang gandang timing. Kaya by the time na ikinisal kami February 4, 2021 (21-4-2) this song was our wedding song. Greatest day of my life.

Do the words I speak before you make you feel (Are His words, written in the Holy Bible, felt?)
That the love I lay for you will see no ending? (That His love is unlimited?)
Well, if you look into my eyes, then you should know (If we look up to Him we find wisdom)
That there is nothing here to doubt, nothing to fear (That if we are within His presence, we neither doubt nor fear)
But of course, this is just an interpretation and my personal perspective. Love is a universal language and therefore it transcends all types of relationships (including our relationship with God). Hence, probably the coincidence. Or so I thought.

Nakakatuwa isipin na instead of just telling us the story behind the meaning of 214 is dinala mo talaga kami sa perspective mo at sa mga places kung saan at papano nabuo yung kanta. Sa loob ng 21 minutes at 23 seconds na yun, for a moment, I felt like I was in your world. (baduy ba? haha) You took me to another dimension Rico. Napaka detailed mo mag kwento at smooth yung transition ng scenes with the story you are telling. Another thing na napansin ko is hindi nyo po nakakalimutan yung mga taong nakatrabaho nyo noon, which is humbling. Hindi ka lang po magaling na musician, you are also a good story teller. This was my husband's song for me. When he passed away, I felt like he already know that he was leaving me that's why he sang this to me.
Parang song of goodbye but with affirmation na he will always be with me. I felt every word of this song when he passed and it was sad and happy at the same time.
The line, "we can journey to a garden no one knows." is like a journey with him in my dream, in heaven, and in reality.
This song helped me grieve and move on. Thank you so much for writing it.
Rico is a pinoy rock legend, I hope he gets the recognition because he deserves it. This guy oozing with so much talent. The young generation should hear him and his music.

I would love to see a new album from you, a theme/movie like this where you tell stories of your life incorporated with new compositions plus old compositions (the ones got famous and ones that never been released, I’m sure you had a few). This video gives me goosebumps; from the family side, experiences, going to the bus, describing the life of a Laguna boi (hello from Sta Rosa). Nakakatuwa naman malaman yung story behind "214" and straight from the songwriter pa. Marami na rin ako narinig na theories before, and I guess I kinda get why Nathan thought of 2/14 like Valentine's; haha, it's also 'coz of the first working title, "The Proposal." If you recheck the lyrics, it's about a person professing love to another, saying they'll be there 'til forever. And cool enough, when the camera zoomed in on the paper showing the first line, "Am I real?" I thought, too, that that was the number of letters per syllable. I love the song, and many people I know also love it. Rico Blanco, ever since I learned that you wrote the songs for Rivermaya, I've been amazed and thought that you are a gifted songwriter. Glad I grew up listening to OPM bands, lots of beautiful memories.

Maybe, Yung Valentines/February 14 talaga ang meaning nung 214 noong lumabas si Nathan sa kwento ni Rico pero it's only a joke. Yung Am I Real siguro ay yung "best bet" ng banda and is a coincident na napansin ni Rico kasi sinabi rin niya na hindi bumenta sa kanya. Pero sinabi niya na pwede. 214 - Am I Real. So baka nga talaga Am I Real yung totoong meaning
Para naman sa akin February 14 yung nakalakihan ko na meaning niyan since pati yung lyrics ng kanta, mas umakma sa Valentines day. Para sa akin ha.

Thank you Rico for sharing this. 214 is been my all time favorite Filipino song because the title itself was full of mystery to me. Not anymore after watching your video;). Believe it or not, I've been searching for the true meaning of the song for ages. The first few minutes I watched your video, I felt bored. I'm kinda direct the point person and don't like "Detours," but then something telling me to wait for a minute and then what got me is how you treat your parents and from there I was sold. I'm glad I did, because the next stop was, you brought me back to places where once I belonged to. Since the Pandemic, I haven't been back home to see my family. They live in Paranaque. And your video not just brought so much emotions to my heart and soul, but you gave me a free tour of those special places, my old routes when I I used to work. So much have changed back home and I want to thank you for sharing this video. Not only that you brought me back/transported me to our motherland briefly, but I've learned so much from this video about love, patience and respect. Take care and God bless!
