MPB first gave me a low-ball bid, after they received my gear (in good condition) then knocked off over 300 bucks. I rejected that offer and asked for my gear back in the original box. They claimed they threw my box away and also the original manual for my camera which I believe they kept. Then refused to pay the value of those items. Terrible company.
In my experience, selling on eBay or Facebook market would give me drastically higher prices..eg. 850 instead of the 550 offered by mpb for a zoom lens currently…I’m ok to invest 1-2 hours more for that
Seller fees, postage costs and liability plus the extra hassle make it not worth it for me.
I've always found setting the condition as 'like new' has helped if I'm unsure, sometimes they'll adjust it to excellent or good, then sometimes they seem to ignore any marks and give you the like new price!

@@ItsJonnyKeeley yeah fair play! I have just had to return a 50mm FE they sold as good but arrived faulty sadly, so trading in for a different version

They will upgrade or downgrade if the condition you select is wrong. The condition is based on cosmetics, shutter count, if it works properly and if it’s got an original battery and charger
I just sold a bunch thru MBP, and the condition was downgraded with a large reduction in price - something I would have paid to be repaired before selling. I would suggest buying a silicon wrap for the camera body, they cost about $40 and don't interfere with camera functions but they do save a lot of dings and scratches!

People often wonder how people afford expensive gear, it’s usually working your way up buying and selling.
@@ItsJonnyKeeley I never knew that honestly! I went all in with photography because I just used my phone so much for the past year. I pulled the trigger went all in on a Nikon Z2. Making the transition from factory to photography. Been saving my bonus money to grab quality gear.
Watch out for them. Once they got my gear they dropped their bid with no reasoning. It's a bait and switch outfit. When I told them to send my gear back I noticed that they had kept my original manual for the camera.
mpb pay 19% less if the seller is outside the eu (sales tax issue). That makes the prices much worse than they already are
I’d rather have the extra money and sell privately, 30 minutes to list and post, MPB is the “We buy any car” for cameras.

Ha, only to enable more buying of camera gear! Those are the rules.
