Thank you so much!! I used to sell used gear on Amazon but 2 bad experiences .... buyer's claimed damage. I asked for photo evidence in order to be able to make a claim to shipper. They would not provide and complained to Amazon. Amazon took their side. Since I have been donating and claiming tax deduction or giving to a friend and even gave 2 gimbals to a local camera shop. This info gives me hope to be able to recoup from my gear!! As always, excellent info in a concise presentation.
Thanks Jeven for the introduction to Gear Focus. It works! Just sold my Panasonic GH4 bundle in less than one week after a very fair offer close to asking price. Easy to accept the offer, print label and payout process. Better than ebay and Reverb. Like you say in the video. Simple. Thanks again.
@@LennyandSandi yes it is a good experience selling and a safe way. I have sold on EBay in the past with some success but I have also been ripped off on eBay also. I do not use eBay anymore. I have sold some items using Facebook Marketplace place but I only do that if the buyer is local to me so we can meet in a public place. I will never ship using facebook. Also a LOT of scammers on Facebook. Never had any of these issues with Gear Focus.
How does it compare to something like MPB? Usually when I try to sell, I get quotes that are 50%-60% what they sell it for. I also just sold my gimbal for $150 on eBay, but only profited $130 because of the "fees".
Jeven, are you able to use video to sell your products? Here's why, I have a drone that crashed, is fully functional and I have used for over a year and flown more than 300 miles since the crash but it has an IMU warning on it that cannot be fixed with a simple calibration. I suspect it is a failsafe after the drone detects a crash because I have put it to the test and other than the alert, it works as it did new. Obviously someone is going to get a good deal, however I want to make sure they can see in video that it works as I would probably get it sold faster that way.
As long as youre super clear with condition and everything about your product you should be able to sell it. Also you can reach out to Gear Focus directly and they can help you. They are available through their email or you can actually call them.
The example given at 2:12 assumes the item sells for the same price on both sites. eBay is a much larger platform and will almost certainly generate a higher sale price. In the end, you'll probably net the same (after fees) and it comes down to your own preference. Personally, I still sell most of my gear locally face to face via Craigslist. I price it very aggressively, cash only. FB marketplace is a $hit show so steer clear of that.
So how do you deal with all the lowballers? I have tried using Facebook marketplace, ebay, varage sale, Kijiji etc....and every damn person is a cheap low balling ahole and then they get mad when i don't accept their offer

Camera companies and Influencers Don't want you to keep, they want you to spend money on them...Too Bad most people fell into that shitty trap!!
I’ve never heard of Gear Focus, but it seems like the best way to rid of your old camera gear. Thanks sharing.
Thank you for continuing to create for others!

I've bought and sold gear on Gear Focus and it's always been a positive experience. Definitely the best way to sell your used gear.
Glad to hear that and thanks for being a part of our growing community!

I have been selling a lot of gear this month using Gear Focus! Now time to upgrade! LOL (My wife might not approve of this post!)🤫🤭
Now that I heard about Jeven's great experience, has yours been as pleasant?

Thanks for the tips, I literally just decided to sell one of my lenses.
Thanks, Jeven. Good info! My biggest question was on pricing. Cheers! 😀

Been looking for an alternative to MPB
Very helpful! Thanks

I just don’t accept them. If they message me mad then I don’t respond. Why bother
@@JevenDovey true ..but I get irate with them right back because I don't want them to have any power lol
@@sibertiger17 ignore them and move on.
We prevent that, as we allow you to set a low ball price that Autro-declines anything offered below that. So you are never even aware of them.
You give those guys power when you do answer them because they know they are getting under your skin.
How does GearFocus handle situations on returns? Do you have to accept returns if the item arrives as described?
