Love it Victor, once and always poetry in motion watching your videos as they are some of the best woodworking ones on TH-cam. Looking forward to the next one mate 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🍻🍻🍻👍👍👍
Nicely done Vic, looks wonderful..and the perfect spot for resting a book and a glass of wine when you want to have a relaxing bath, and love the design as well. I have one I made a few years ago, but its just a simple design made from 42 x19 pine I got from Bunnings. must get some of that beeswax polish, living in S.A. it should be easy to get.
New subbie coming over from Small Fry Creations channel. Had great fun watching her video about the maker meetup. Seemed like a great bunch so thought I'd come check out the content. Absolutely in love with this bath caddy and been wanting a bath caddy for so long. Thank you for this.
Nice one mate, hope you are well Vic, long time no chat lol. 👍 BTW you can make your own butchers butter from beeswax and mineral oil. Melt the wax and add the oil at a 4 to 1 4 wax 1 oil let it set, if it is to hard then melt again add more oil. Once you have tge right mix, you will make your butchers butter easy as, because you have the right formular. Mine was 4 to 2
Hey Ben, how's it going? It has been a while. I've been meaning to make my own for a while now because i've had a block of beeswax for ages but just haven't gotten around to it. Hey mate, not sure what area you're in but there's a big maker meetup happening in Sydney in June.
@@DownUnderWoodWorks I got a recipe from and old gentleman years ago. it used just beeswax and pure gum turpentine. you just broke the beeswax as small as you could, pit it into a container and added the turpentine. it slowly dissolves the wax and you mix them together over a few days, adding more turps if you need to. the gum turpentine gives it a lovely smell too.
Wonderful build! I have never seen that dovel jig, looks awesome. Good choice with the bees wax finish, I make my own and it's just great for a lot of things. I saw your new thicknesser in action, happy about it?
@@DownUnderWoodWorks All good, just over covid, and when I was sick with covid I had a chance to order some new stuff for the workshop, so I'm going to unpack some new tools too.
Beautiful work as always your Thicknesser looks like it’s doing a great job and how handy is the mitre gauge once you start using it you wonder how you ever got along without it thanks for the link to the beeswax and thanks for sharing love your channel
gday ol mate , i recon the wood was STRINGGY BARK or as they call it today tazzie oak , i too use a lot of old wood , i did a floor with old fence pallings and im doing cupboard faces with them as well , still love ya work till next time good sir .

Those boards cleaned up nicely to make a beautiful project .
Thanks very much Craig, I think so too. I love working with reclaimed hardwoods
That’s beautiful workpiece 👍
Thank you
Yet another DIY Masterclass, Thanks Vic.
Thanks very much Len
Very nice Vic. Great choice of wood. Excellent finish too. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.
No worries Glen, my pleasure. Thanks very much mate
Another magnificent job Vic, you got to love old recycled hardwood that’s straight and flat aye. Nice job mate 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍
Thanks very much David. I have to admit the timber i used for this one made my job easy
You do beautiful work, Vic.
Thank you very much mate
It turned out beautiful. I think it was pretty clever that you ripped the one board to get a more pleasing grain pattern. Thanks
Thank you very much 🙏🏼
@@DownUnderWoodWorks that simple cut made it look so much more pleasing to the eye
Beautiful and well constructed! Always enjoy your videos as well
Thank you very much. Thanks for watching
Nice work Vic. That finish is amazing
Thanks Glyn. Its my go to finish for smaller hardwood projects
Bloody good idea to glue up the panel using three pieces instead of two. Odd numbers of components usually look much better. 👍
Thanks mate. Yes, apparently odd numbers are much more pleasing to look at and they say that nature is full of odd numbers.
Great watching you work and the dowel accuracy is so satisfying. Nice finish too.
Thanks very much Ben, glad you enjoyed watching
Beautiful work, I must have missed this one a month ago! 👍
Not sure how that could have happened mate but I’ll forgive you. I know you’ve been busy with the superteepink project
Really nice addition mate. I'm sorely tempted to get one of those dowelmax jigs.
Great work and great video buddy 👍🏽 👏 👌
Thanks Ian. The Dowelmax is an awesome bit of kit
Nice one looks really elegant
Thanks Bernie, glad you like it

Thats awesome, the maker meetup was our best yet. So glad you found me through Ainslee and thanks for the sub.
thats a great looking cady mate! given me a great idea of using old timber decking boards or such....cheers mate!
Yes, they'd be perfect mate. I have a bunch of 40mm Merbau battens i used on the letterbox make over that i considered using for this. Thanks Vipun
Excellent (as usual)! Just needs a supplementary frame to hold a book at the right angle for relaxed reading.
You're right mate. Maybe i could make a range of accessories for it
Love it! looks great.
