In the fun fake opening for the second game Nagito (one of the most important characters) is put with Teruteru (probably the least important character) so Nagito’s true identity is even more of a surprise
Not really. The openings tend to put characters that are connected to each other together (such as culprits next to their victims). Teruteru was VERY important in discovering Komaeda's identity, which is why they're next to each other

i think the reason why they all have a shadows at the back of all their illustrations is because it symbolizes there’s a person behind that their character and it isn’t actually them. and as per rantaro, the zoom in to his illustration that transitions to his silhouette and eyes symbolizes that he isn’t entirely fake, just reused. which means he’s just one person with no one behind the character.
I like how at 0:46 the creators put a Monokuma sprite to cover up Celes's legs to prevent spoilers.

SDR2.5:Nagito Komaeda and the Destroyer of the World - Anime OVA
Then there's also a whole load of other stuff like audio dramas, short stories, manga and stuff which aren't really necessary but they're interesting if you want to learn more about the story.
Games so that the anime would make more sense.

Might ne wrong but I'm pretty sure it shows mukuro disguised as junko, as you can tell from the hair clips being normal (no monokuma)
Also those long and flat eyes with lots of makeup are more like mukuro, junko's are bigger and less clearly defined i believe

It has a good message about how fiction influences reality, easily the best design and huge gameplay improvements... however, the individual cases are really badly written compared to THH and SDR2. The 1st and 5th cases are good, the rest, not so much. Each to their own, though
@Geminiblast 9000 I'm not sure how I feel about 2. Imo the plot twist was really dumb and it overall felt like it dragged on for too long. I liked 6 but it wasn't quite as good as drthh or sdr2's 6th cases. As for 3... yeah, it sucked, but so did drthh and sdr2's 3rd cases. At this point we can just agree spike chunsoft can't write 3rd cases.
