Just realized that Monokuma made a fatal mistake with Kaito’s execution, I don’t think he realized, but Kaito’s one dream was going to space. So when he blasted him into space, Kaito’s dream came true so he was okah dying then and there. What Monokuma SHOULD have done, was put Kaito into a virtual world space simulation, make him believe he went to space and then see glitching in the system, inflicting despair knowing that he died without ACTUALLY going to space...
I love teruterus execution so much. it's my second most hated character dying to fucking attack helicopters like this is vietnam. seeing some ball get hit by missiles from an apache and getting fried alive is hilarious to be honest. I don't even hate him because he killed fake byakuya I hate him because he's an annoying pervert that messes with my favorite characters.
I never noticed this before, but the music that plays during Junko's execution is a combination of all the other songs from the previous executions. That's some clever sound design.

OH! I know why! So Leon's execution is actually a carry over from Danganronpa's original game/beta, it was called Distrust and was *_very much darker_* than DR, being more realistic. It took place in an abandoned warehouse type space and like I said, was more realistic and gritty but the Dev team didn't like the direction and darkness so they redid it to be much more light-hearted and not as serious. Leon's execution was already made for Distrust so they just decided to reuse it for DR and THAT'S why Leon's is such a stand out and Darker than the rest!
i am completely in love with Peko’s and Chiaki’s execution music. Peko’s gives off that eerie feeling that I love, and Chiaki’s is 8-bit, which really suits her character, her ultimate, and basically who she is as a person. The music for these two really suited them and that’s why I love them so much.
Peko's feels like I'm about to fight a Sekiro boss (good) But Korekiyo's feels like I'm about to fight a Sekiro boss *(difficult difficult lemon difficult)*
So, in case no one told you, Whenever a character’s execution theme has this specific lyric (E.G. Gonta) it means that they killed for a good cause, like saving everyone, finding a mastermind, etc.
@Neptunastarry If you're referring to Teruteru then yeah, though his is kind of justified, anyone would be pissed scared and want to go home in a situation like that plus if I remember correctly, didn't Teruteru kill cause Nagito baited him until he went paranoid as hell?

You and your favourite danganronpa character are the masterminds and have Junko's execution, and at the last punishment, you and your fellow mastermind partner are singing along to the music while looking happy and smiling and the scarier thing is YOU BOTH SURVIVE-
The one that got me the most was Gundhams... he was too kind. The whole time he was just focused on saving his hamsters.. And Korekiyo meeting his sister in his execution was actually quite terrible... the one thing that he loved and was judged for loving but he continued to love them killed him..
Goodbye Despair spoilers The actual execution part of Gundham's execution wasn't really all that interesting, but that part where his hamsters go to see if he's okay just breaks me emotionally
Just a lil analysis of Gundham's execution, hopefully it makes it a little bit more interesting. (SPOILERS) So, the death by stampede, obvious choice, have him die via the animals he loves but the whole circle thing he does is most likely him trying to fight until the end (which was his whole motive for murder). I assume that circle was an attempt at a protection spell and the simulation made it seem like just for a split second that it worked but of course fails. Proving that he was never magic or anything like that, and then the animals bringing him to heaven. He always claimed that he was some dark overlord so would assume that he would be brought to Hell. The animals bringing him to Heaven further proves his whole persona as a fake Which he probably knows but the executions are being shown to people, to his friends, which I assume would bring him despair for his whole thing to be exposed as fake like that. Plus that and people who have personas like that... those personas are usually a defence mechanism, a shield to protect themselves, to have that ripped away suddenly and violently wouldn't feel very good to put it lightly. *But anyway, yeah, I agree that even with added context, it isn't the most visually interesting, which could be attributed to the fact that the dev team actually really liked Gundham! Therefore couldn't really give him that bad a death.* Also, I should mention that I stole a bunch of this from other theories. I'm not a credit stealer and all that.

Teruteru has a motive to kill Nagito, but killed "Byakuya" instead. Mikan has been controled by the disease, I won't call her a cold blooded murderer but the disease itself. Chiaki is innocet

I got a little theory about all the songs in general Especially the samples used ! *When we hear that one woman voice* it means the feeling of hopelessness, not pure despair, just feeling bad / being super inconfortable during the execution *The monokuma sample* (babababa baba oooh, oshi baba ) : When the student has fallen deeply into despair, when you hear it before a character's death its like monokuma succeed making them suffer The famous "reach for the stars reach so high" : people theorize its when the murder was accidental Like monokuma said : "there is a huuge difference between « Hell yeah i killed him!» and « Oops i killed him !» " But we didnt hear that theme in kaede's execution, so i thiink its to represent regrets the students have Thinking they could've had survived if they didnt killed someone And youre gonna tell me "But [insert other character] didnt have that sample !" I think Leon's is the darkest in the series, because it messed me up the most. Kirumi's and Kaede's were gory, but they were pretty fucking epic.
Leon had the best execution, for me it was mainly the shocking part of it. Also, the beginning?? Amazing ✨

I assume that circle was an attempt at a protection spell and the simulation made it seem like just for a split second that it worked but of course fails.
Proving that he was never magic or anything like that, and then the animals bringing him to heaven.
He always claimed that he was some dark overlord so would assume that he would be brought to Hell.

Which he probably knows but the executions are being shown to people, to his friends, which I assume would bring him despair for his whole thing to be exposed as fake like that.
Plus that and people who have personas like that... those personas are usually a defence mechanism, a shield to protect themselves, to have that ripped away suddenly and violently wouldn't feel very good to put it lightly.
*But anyway, yeah, I agree that even with added context, it isn't the most visually interesting, which could be attributed to the fact that the dev team actually really liked Gundham! Therefore couldn't really give him that bad a death.*

I got a little theory about all the songs in general
Especially the samples used !
*When we hear that one woman voice* it means the feeling of hopelessness, not pure despair, just feeling bad / being super inconfortable during the execution
*The monokuma sample* (babababa baba oooh, oshi baba ) : When the student has fallen deeply into despair, when you hear it before a character's death its like monokuma succeed making them suffer
The famous "reach for the stars reach so high" : people theorize its when the murder was accidental
Like monokuma said : "there is a huuge difference between « Hell yeah i killed him!» and « Oops i killed him !» "
But we didnt hear that theme in kaede's execution, so i thiink its to represent regrets the students have
Thinking they could've had survived if they didnt killed someone
And youre gonna tell me
"But [insert other character] didnt have that sample !"
Maybeeee because, some characters are suffering so bad during the executions they dont have time to think about their mistake
Like, teruteru had time to think during this helicopter trip for example
