Hey Frans! This is Robert, I’m so happy you did this song!! It means so much to me and I really appreciate it. I know what I’ll be doing on my next days off now. Thank you!
I practiced two days, rested one, and practiced again today. So far I can play the intro at about .75 speed, but my hands need time to get stronger and more flexible before I get any faster, so I'm moving on to the verses
@@franskuijpersguitarlessons I finished learning it, but when I tried playing along with the original to get my timing right, I noticed something wrong. I'm not sure what's off, because all the videos I can find are heavily distorted when slowed down, so I can't figure it out that way. When I watch videos of him playing the song live, things get even more confusing. I moved my capo to fret 2 because it sounded more like the original, but in the videos I can see his capo IS on fret 3. My guitar is pretty small, so it could be me, or maybe he's not in standard tuning. The picking isn't quite right either. It happens so quickly I'm not sure whats going on but the Am intro part looks and sounds more like he's hammering 3 times rather than strumming many strings. This version is pretty close, and I've had a lot of fun playing it, but my search for the truth will continue if I have to speak to the man myself!
Oh my god, this is one of my favorite songs and I've been looking for a lesson for years. What an awesome surprise to see this show up in my feed!

This may help. I combined this intro (which is like the album) with Frans' live version to create a hybrid. th-cam.com/video/pUw7UMoxbIk/w-d-xo.html
