I love the Marvel Superheroes countercade. I modded one to have a more portable gaming experience. I replaced the screen to geta slightly bigger one, I put a new speaker in, swapped the the controls for LED ones, put a rasberry pi 4 in it, added two USB ports for 2 more controls, and a splitter to hook it to a TV. I can play on it's screen or with a TV which makes use of the four player functionality. I feel like this the kind of thing Arcade 1up should be making, but had make it myself which I am very happy with how they have turned out as I've done several projects since.
I love the Countercades. I have all of them except the Centipede. The two-player ones have the best functionalities with the light-up marquee's headphone jacks and the USB outlet. Waiting on my Evercade Alpha should get it this week.
I’m a big fan of the Countercades and last year’s Class of 81 was my first home Aracade product and I still love it. Sadly this year’s models seem to be suffering from “shrinkflation” and kinda wished you had one in this video for comparison but it wasn’t worth you spending your money on probably. The new ones have one major advantage, as they had the ability to be more portable with batteries internal. That said, with a decent external battery pack any Countercade could be portable if desired. And the screen size and form factor this year was a definitely a big step backwards. All for the sake cost as last year’s model. Thanks 19kFox 👊🏻😎🕹️
I'm a big fan of the countercade, and it's a form factor that lets me grow my collection, without pissing off the Wife since it's small, doesn't take up floor space and is portable if you need to move it elsewhere to play. I have 4, plus a homemade one, as well as a pi5 8gb based home unit connected to a 16 inch portable monitor and a custom built control panel with Glen's thunderstick Ikari warrior controller. But my favorite may be the Evercade Alpha, as I have like 33 cart's and growing to use with it.
I would agree that the Marvel Super Heros is Arcade1up's nicest looking cabinet of any size. The 3/4 MSH was my most complete and best looking mod. I like the countercades as well and the Angel's backlit marquee on both the stock Ms Pac-Man and the fully modified Galaga cabinet. Both are battery powered which I believe is essential for counter tops because I eliminate the need for a power source and remove the trip hazard which otherwise is unavoidable.
I love my Marvel Superheroes Countercade! Got it last year during Black Friday and I'm still playing it. I know Arcade 1up isn't doing too good right now but I would love to see Countercades for X-Men Arcade, Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder, The Simpsons and although this doesn't exist in the Arcade 1up ecosystem, Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
I personally like the Capcom Retrostation .The audio is amazing and bigger screen.Way better than the Arcade1up and Evercade. It’s also the easiest hack ever
I do like the Countercades, but only purchased the 2P MKII cab. I also got the standard SFII Evercade Alpha. My only real gripe with the Alpha is no protection for the deck art.
I always thought the countercades were pretty neat. I've got a little table in my game room with a Galaga 88 countercade and a Defender partycade. I always thought it would've been cool if they took the countercade and gave it a screen as big as the partycade, so you'd get the larger screen and the larger control panel. That would've been a great machine. Also it always seemed weird to me that they never created an online version of the countercades. They had the tech in their 3/4 scale cabs, so it would've been a no-brainer in my opinion, especially with the single joystick countercades. They would've gotten a lot more people into the ecosystem if they'd made a single stick Street Fighter that was compatible with Big Blue and all the other Street Fighter cabs. I know they were aiming for a certain price point with these, but their pricing never seemed consistent with countercades anyway, so what's the harm in charging a few extra bucks?
So odd to me that the form factor improved on the last generation of 1up countercades, but we lost so much with secondary players, USB inputs, and light up marques. Still makes little sense to me that we don't have wifi in almost all 1up units to boost both the player count and the replayability of their one player countercades and partycades.
Do you still have the Raiden II countercade that you made? I just came across that video. Raiden II was my childhood game and still my all time favorite..if you still have it and dont have a need anymore, I would def be interested in buying it from you if your interested in selling?
I’m confused. If the 2-player countercades have all the features you prefer, why do you prefer the 1-player Mortal Kombat if it’s been stripped down from the 2-player variant?
*Countercades: Glorified "Functional" Display Peices.* The 8" screen is ok i guess but, that cramped control panel is too uncomfortable to play on for one minute past the whole, "initial unboxing hype". Then it goes on the shelf, never to be played again. Ofcourse i own two myself: The Galaga '88 and the Marvel Super Heroes. Because they looked amazing, and yeah it's neat to know they're working tiny Arcade machines but, that's about it. I wish they'd take this bartop thing seriously for once. Giving us stuff like at LEAST a 10" screen, and a decent sized control panel. You don't have to go hardcore with it like the MVS-X did, with it's 19" monitor and CHONKY control panel. Just something with like a 10" or 12" screen.

I have visco bartop and now evercade Deluxe. Very happy, even at over $300. It's the best yet.

I enjoy the countercades. I wish they would have continued releasing with more titles. Miss the Tempest Prototype, wish it made it to release

Would it be possible to make Daytona in a countercade? Also, can you show more of the Star Wars BattlePod? I love your videos!
The Arcade1up Marvel Super Heroes is still the best looking one up there.

I have the 2 player MK and that Marvel one as well. Not giving those up as I think they're a nice novelty to have.
How did you hook up the joystick and button to the Playstation tv/vita ?
I like them, but I don’t $250 like them. I can get great quality used 3/4 for around that price
I try find used or broken ones to mod myself. I wouldn't pay 250 for one.
I’m confused.

Half the purpose of a cabinet is to reduce glare and promote a sense of immersion by setting the monitor back, and that's a big loss with these.
RIP Super Pac-Man 😅
😂
Team countercade
