Honestly, I think Arcade1up has taken a big step backward even with the form factor of the machines with the new deluxe cabs. I'm honestly not sure what they were thinking of with that. But really the bottom line for Arcade1up is all about the licenses and in that way 2024 has been pretty grim, to say the least.
Agree this company gets a very bad rap. Lived in arcades from the electromechanical through the golden age. Into the 90s. So I clearly understood before buying that these were not originals, have original controls, would not play exact to the originals. I’ve owed over 30 OG electromechanical and video arcade games until my wife and I downsized from a 2500 square foot home into a 920 square foot apartment downtown. Sold my 400lb arcades and took 3 A1Us with me. Centipede Legacy, Class of 81 Deluxe, and Joust Legacy. A1U got it right on cost, dimension, weight, and the opportunity to engage generations young and old younger generation and most that didn’t experience the golden age of arcade. Learn how to upgrade your controls of you don’t like them. If your boards burn out. Learn how to build a PC that will work in your cabinet or buy one used on EBay. Bottom line is no company is in business if they can’t make a profit. Midway, Williams, Chicago Coin, etc are all gone. Enjoy the moment and what’s available.
Well, I certainly don't love their customer support (still waiting for a reply back RE my dead TRON pcb), but I think it's unfair to say all their products are defective. @@evilgeniusentertainment They have a Quest 3 for $299 now, plus a $100 rebate. If I didn't have a Q2, I'd jump on that. Looking forward to you telling me what games to get! Since AG did the TNG table, you'd think a skin would be possible. But I'm really over it now.
@@loganq I wonder about licensing skins vs actual table. I'm assuming they're 2 different things (although obviously very closely related). I do think ST:TNG is one of the more desired skins, so hopefully it will happen. That new Quest 3S is very tempting, but because I'm so blind I might have to go for the 3 (which is $200 more). VR is about to make a big splash in 2025....
@@evilgeniusentertainment@evilgeniusentertainment I don't know anything about skins vs. content, other than sometimes there are actors on the skins, not in the content, and then that's a problem. Remember that even though the Quest will fit over glasses, you can also get custom prescription lenses. I'm still waiting for Roddenberry Archives to publish to Quest. My recurring theme is that I've been disappointed with Star Trek releases.
It'll be interesting to see if any new titles do come out in 2025. I thnk that ill tell us a lot about the health of the company.
Arcade 1 up makes a defective product with no customer support.
Well, I certainly don't love their customer support (still waiting for a reply back RE my dead TRON pcb), but I think it's unfair to say all their products are defective. Indeed, except for TRON, I've never had a cab die on me. But yes, there are some very poorly design cabs (SIMPSONS probably being the worst).
i never had customer support issues lol
got all kinds of free stuff from them
id say they were helpful
This is your opinion and I think it’s a strong minority. I disagree with everything and it definitely made you seem like a shill 💯.
You got me - A1up sent over Moose & Rocko to make me see the light. That, or $299 is actually a pretty good deal.
@ it’s really not. Some of those have been discounted as low as $99 . $299+ $70-$100 riser, +$100+ screen upgrade. I think the XL is a better deal. I have no problem with you, but I’m tell you that the optics of this video are bad lol.
@@fourthhorseman04 no they arent. hes right. 299 is a pretty good deal. thats what the price tag was 5 years ago. so to see that price now for a brand new machine is good.
@ $299 is not a good deal for that junk. lol GTFO of here with that. I bought blitz for $199. Last year. $399 for F&F. $249 for big Buck Hunter world with riser. You just have to be patient and shop sales.
@@fourthhorseman04 If you watch the channel you'll know that I blast A1up on the reg - including my last 2 videos about them. And just because a product goes on sale doesn't mean it's MSRP is inherently a bad one. And I think $299 is a fair price for the peasant-cade. Too many people in this community want to scream shill when someone likes a product (or doesn't - just last week I was accused of being a shill for AG b/c I blasted A1up). It's tiring, silly, and ultimately non-productive.
